  1. Putin is FSB. We are talking here about a former KGB officer that is now a most powerful person in Russia. Some of his methods are questionable but you cant deny he lifted Russia from the super bad state they were during the drunken bear era... Sure, he probably could have solved the issue of crimeas black sea fleet base better but only someone retarded would think that Russians would give up one of the most important assets in their geopolitcis and military presence. Ukraine situation is a fault of two sides and much more.complicated than a lot of media coverage (because media are driven by senasationalism and domestic propaganda) Sure the convinient deaths of some people appear, but to be honest the western democracy is also flawed as it is the rule of stupid. Majority of population is stupid yet every vote has the same weight. The original greek democracy was different as there was something called census which was dependant on wealth and education if i recall correctly and not all citizens had the right to vote. How can someone having no idea.about economy etc decide which party will win and create laws? Its stupid.
  2. Thats such a 2001-2003 perspective of Western foreign policy in the Middle East. The West has learnt and evolved since those days. You know this yet you still refuse to recognise it, I find this odd Both Iran and Syria are examples that the days of Western unilateralism as far as intervention is concerned are over, no its all about coalitions and UNSC endorsement. And I support this. Just for record what would you personally do about the rise of ISIS ? Lets say you controlled the military of Western countries....what would your strategy be ? Maybe you would have left the Yazidis to die on that mountain in Iraq because that was the catalyst that started the campaign against ISIS? For all I care I would remove myself completely from the ME and let them kill each other for the next 100-200 years as they have been doing for the last couple of thousands years with exception of the British Imperium era where they were goverened with a hard boot. Ban immigration from those countries and secure borders if the need would arise. The only reason west does not want to do that is because we want control over their oil and gas. Even if indirect but still control. Do you see any intervention in North Korea or sub saharan Africa? You cant uplift to your standards something that does not see any value in the qualities you hold dear. You can just isolate yourself and ocassionally check if they got better when maintaining some trade agreements.
  3. nice, but what seems to be the main building looks like a cathedra. I wonder if it is on purpose
  4. To avoid minor damages during handling by postal service and protect the content during the shipment? If not sealed there would be no way of determining if the content was in the box or not if something would be missing.
  5. I am sorry but this is hilarious... obviously it will boot you beacuse the only manual save appears when you are quiting the session.... thats the whole point of it. Other than that there are some autosave points (i have no idea how it works though but i would expect them after every combat/dialog sequence/area transition/rest.) If you want to play with manual quicksaves just play normal mode. If i recall correctly trials of iron in itself does not change anything aside of ironman mode function. The difficulty is set seperately.
  6. HK-47 is by far the best NPC created in the history of gaming... I loved the concept and the way he was voiced. Pure awesome...
  7. You know what happens when you have too many cooks working on something? I'd rather have them doing their own stuffs with creative co op instead of actual merged project. One does Turn based stuff the other does Real Time. Keep these up and paint me happy. That said I dlove Aliens RPG, Warhammer and Warhammer 40k RPGs, Espionage RPG, Stargate/StarTrek/Starwars or brand new sci-fi RPG. As of a KS project either PoE2 or a brand new Sci-fi setting.
  8. I wish someone would make a re edition of System Shock 1 and 2. I would not mind some changes in controlls but god I miss those games. I have the System Shock 2 on steam but its just too painful to play with its very dated graphics despite the all other awesome sauces.
  9. It will be on steam. It is still a significant amount of time before the release. They even planned to "connect" this with Beyond Earth in terms of two way information transfer (i expect that a significant expac for beyond earth will soon be announced too).
  10. Thac0 and Ac were easy for me to get into but damn I was confused by the spell vs saving throws system and what affects what... the 3.x sysyem of IWD 2 and NWN was much better in that regard.
  11. GDC this year is going to be really interesting. I will pay much more attention to it than I have most conventions of the past few years. We have DX12/OpenGL Next Gen, Steam Machines, SteamVR, etc. I also expect a game announcement from Valve since they need a new game to premier so as to draw gaze at their new hardware ventures. I am sure there are other interesting pieces of news to be announced that I am forgetting or of which I am unaware. Half life 3 maybe ??? (could not resist)
  12. he still is anime emo elf...
  13. Has MCA fully recovered mentally from his attempts at playing Arcanum and will we see him drinking again?
  14. I do hope for an opt out option... I would hate to deal with possibilities of missing discs due to post mishandling.
  15. There are 2 characters I have not used at all Sera and Dorian... Sera just annoyed me at recruutment to the point where i thought that my dwarf will arrange a close ebcounter of her face with his axe... the secind is Dorian which is simply too much... unmanly...
  16. His evisceration of Total War: Rome 2 was brilliantly epic. As a Total War fan, and having been let down by Creative Assembly for the state of its release, this video was quite cathartic. The Creative Assembly engaged in some really good dialogue with Joe and their fans in reaction to this video in their official forums, and to their credit --CA really did improve the game with their free Emperor Edition overhaul. Agreed. TW ROME 2 is now the game it should be at the release. I enjoy it and trusted CA with my money buying blindly DLCs :D CA also delivered Alien Isolation which was a good game and only made me wish even more for that canceled RPG project from Obsidian... I like watching AJ for the comedy factor and while I dont always agree 100% with his points I see where is he coming from.
  17. And then you meet an Elder bear all alone and scream like a little girl...
  18. NWN was one of the biggest disappointments I've ever had with a game and it seems I got the worst of it too by trying to play a wizard (as I generally do). In other news, I picked up my year old XCom: Enemy Within playthrough, the game's still fun though I think I really should have started my second playthrough on Classis or so because after the initial few months the difficulty rather plummets. Now I'm trying to decide whether to drag it out to get the "shoot down 40 UFOs"-achievement or just use the Gollop Champer and get this playthrough over with... Play the Long War mod... the game is a completely different experience then
  19. That's exactly how the High Dragon fight went in DA2. To make matters worse, every so often it would fly away to an unreachable perch and spit fireballs at you, while summoning smaller dragons to harass you. Laidlaw clearly doesn't understand the difference between creating an encounter that challenges the player's skills versus one that merely challenges his patience. Hell, when people called DA2's combat "dumbed down" he flippantly dismissed this criticism by suggesting people play on "hard," which does nothing but drag the experience out further. If anything, DA:I proves that BioWare didn't understand the criticism of DA2 except on the shallowest level. It is actually funny because the dragon in the Hinterlands does exactly that. Summons smaller drakes and goes ona perch spitting fireballs (the only thing that stopped me from killing it at lvl 6-7) Tha high dragon in the western approach just ... slowly dies... to make it worse you first have to do a bunch of Fedex quests and a war room mission... the 3d environment gives so much potential for boss battles (for example set up traps and some siege equipment and try to lure it and shoot down, then try to immobilize and fatally wound it and then deciede its fate while it is on the verge of dying. Kill for materials and loot or spare and get either a mission that removes str from some other dragon or have an own dragon as a war asset for a final battle) I understood limitations of 2d environments but in 3d this just is a poor design... taken directly from worst MMOs...
  20. Just fought a battle with High Dragon... what a bore... it took 25min of afk to complete it. If not for its occassional pull with dmg I would literally just tab out of the game for 25min after i ordered attacks in the tactical view... i have not endured a more boring boss battle in my gaming history... When will deaigners.learn that slapping gazzilion hit points and dmg buff will not make a good boss...
  21. There are games that aged well and games that now are unplayable for me. For example might and magic seriesn is unplayable to me until part 6, which is fun even now. Even some modern trips to the past ( I am looking at you Legends of Grimrock) have elements that just piss the end user off (like why the hell do I have to go through the chore of spellcasting codes every time I want to use a spell instead of simply equiping it once I found the combination?) I still can play some older games and have fun but there are also new ones that are good too.
  22. I am playing wolfenstein new order. It s been a while since I touched an FPS and this is kind of fun even challanging at times.
  23. Good thats all that matters, are you having fun? If you are then everything else is superfluous. Welcome to the world of " only judging games on whether they are fun " Technically yes, the problem is that the thing i like are minor while the ones that I dislike or are boring are quite frequent. Combat being the prime example of this. Ive clocked 40h doing 4 full side maps and getting the stronghold. I feel like the lenght of the game is just a matter of a lot of runninng and hunting for all specials on the maps. If I would follow mostly the plot missions the game would be surprisingly short. Its too much of a Skyrim and not enough of the Baldurs Gate. Still it is a step in good direction and I liked some solutions thah I hope they will carry over. Just purge the MMOish part and improve PC version combat mechanics. Its funny that they chose to gate main plot prgression behind the power points which are super easy to acquire, while at the same time I have yet to use gold in this game... And they had this nice elegant solution in the BG that would help to solve both issues use the bigbheaps of gold for advancement while use the reduced power points system for agents mission and keep influence level for special perks system.
  24. I decided to buy as it was at 30% discount. Combat is awful on mouse and keyboard (targeting and camera control) on the tactical vie pathing is super bad and camera is still wonky. Gathering crafting materials is bad... feels too MMOish. Why not just let the player mark the nodes of resources instead? Its an SP game I have no idea why you need to gather 50+ of whatever. Some missions are too long 17h wait for some battleaxe? I like the idea of war table.but the execution should be better with these powerpoints and possibly some side maps gating but its playable. Game feels generally a well made console product that tosses needless hurdles at a PC gamer but I cant say I am not having some fun... Just the resources collection system seems generally bad.
