I don't see an option for gameplay or UI, which is paramount. I'd argue that modern, AAA rpgs don't measure up to the Classic IE and FO games because of that perfect marriage of mouse, keyboard, and camera mechanics. Even despite the mouse/keyboard interface, NWN and DA had poor cameras which negatively impacted gameplay. In many cases, e.g. MotB, Alpha Protocol, K2, FONV, the C&C and role playing components have further expanded on the genre, but the "fun" gameplay was missing.

Concept Artist Kazunori Aruga aka *K*
Leferd replied to C2B's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Is he working with Polina as a concept artist or will we also directly see his work on PE ie portraits? -
NWN actually was the game that turned me off and away from RPGs for a time. In many ways I'm glad because it allowed me to do other stuff.

No other Nippon-Ham Fighters supporters here? Lame. In a complete paradigm shift, Billy Beane is starting to sell jeans with Cespedes and Reddick.

Haven't seen this posted anywhere here yet: http://www.rockpapershotgun.com/2013/02/08/new-republic-obsidian-actively-pitching-more-star-wars/?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+RPSfull+(Rock%2C+Paper%2C+Shotgun%3A+full+feed) MCA led Star Wars game? I'm down.

Swords and Serpents on the NES, so not technically a cRPG, but in the same vein. Had to friggin' draw maps! Later on, I found out it was developed by Interplay. This was circa 1990. Mostly played platformers and sports games until 1998. First real cRPG I played on PC was BG.

Type of Romances you liked
Leferd replied to Ulquiorra's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Hate romances. Don't include them. But if in, make it all about sluts and meaningless, baggageless coitus. I liked MCA's usage of hatemance in AP, and the ability to manipulate and shag Hawt pixelated wimmin in the game. In short, make romances all about sex and nothing else. Also, the shotgun wedding in FO2 was good for Lolz. -
I disagree about Jolee Bondo. He was an interesting, well written, and pretty laid back mutha f**ka.

With the re-release on GOG, I may have to consider replaying again. The complete package was equal parts brilliant and infuriating. The interface, controls, and general gameplay was frustrating- though mostly through the legacies of the underlying Aurora Engine. Many of the npcs were engaging; Bishop, Sand, Qara, Khelgar, Torio; the trial scene was well done; everything about MOB. I've only dabbled a little bit of SOZ, and none of MOW.

I'll play. Kreia Morte Morrigan Jolee Bindo Atton Rand Think of all the webs of lies being spun with that group. -
I'm fine with them using the Torment name. Bioshock was used as the name for the spiritual successor to System Shock. If Fargo picked up the rights for "Torment," may as well use it.

Would I be the only one who thinks that they should make PV13: Brotherhood of Steel 2? Only appropriate, right? Or is "Brotherhood of Steel" trademarked by Bethesda too?

My loot bag arrived!
Leferd replied to Blazing Hero's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)
Sure but it will take a few days since I left my phone at my parents house. *Yes I am that stupid* But for now I will just list what was included: - A AMD processor - A PC copy of Alpha Protocol signed by a bunch of the Obsidian staff on the cover, with a message saying "Thank You Dylan!" (My name) in the center. - A black pen with "Obsidian entertainment" on it. - A Dungeon Siege 3 comic - A Fallout New Vegas patch with the word "Courier" on it - Another cooler Fallout New Vegas cloth patch with a picture of the Vault Boy holding a bottle Cap with a "Mojave Express" mail service logo on it. Also the patch indicates that the mail route includes New Vegas, Zion Valley, Big M.T., The Divide and Sierra Madre. It is shaped like something a real life postal employee would wear - Lastly a mystery cloth patch that I don't know the origin of, It has an birds talon, a symbol with lighting coming out of it and a snake on it. The words written on the bottom are "Quo Nemo Sequt Potest" I don't know what it is from but it is wicked looking. Got mine as well. Same loot. Pretty damn cool. -

They already have outside funding lined up. The crowdsourcing was one way to assure their investors that there was still demand for this type of game.
