  1. I thought I read Feargus state they've passed $20k on the kickstarter comments page yesterday.
  2. It'll be nice if they can match Wasteland 2 (61k backers, $2.9m), but it's going to be a stretch to catch Double Fine (87k, $3.3m).
  3. Ziets has been taking quite a few MOTB questions on his formspring account. http://www.formspring.me/GZiets
  4. This is a pretty random necropost.
  5. Good interview. Matt Chats are pretty neat.
  6. Hmmm...just checked the Kickstarter page. Looks like Feargus et al have discussed bringing back Ziets. From the comments page.
  7. I'd be more interested in a Jagged Alliance 2 type game.
  8. http://www.kickstarter.com.funnyordie.com/projects/83719047/sex-tape C'mon fellas!
  9. I tried that build on NWN2 but the animations they used were those of a slashing weapon. It was a bit...disconcerting. Why would you hack with a spear?
  10. The spear and shield combo seems to me to be the arms of a soldier massed as part of a shield wall/phalanx/or other close infantry formation with like-minded armaments. Different and probably not too practical for an individual adventurer.
  11. - Making it to the Friendly Arm Inn - ...finally reaching Baldur's Gate - reverse pickpocketing some explosives in Fallout and waiting for the guy to blow up. Figured it out on my own and lol'd when it actually worked! - "What can change the nature of a man?" - The haunted hotel in Bloodlines - The Darth Revan twist
  12. Nice job Justin! Really good stuff and I especially like the third track. One thing that might seem a little off to me though were the pauses here and there. Seemed maybe a beat too long...?
  13. The devs listed King of Dragon Pass as one of their inspirations. That got them an automatic look from my end. Pledged $10 for a copy.
  14. The haunted hotel in VtM:B was the single best bit of level design that I've encountered. Freaked the hell out of me.
  15. You have to know the audience. While the concept of drows in the Forgotten Realms may be fitting, it's gotten to be a bit fatiguing dealing with Drizzt-type munchkins over the years that this group has gotten to be pretty jaded over the concept. It's always been cathartic to just wantonly murder Drizzt when you come across him in BG, just for what he represents. As such, drows have a negative stigma in these boards. I'm speaking for myself, of course.
  16. Only if they come with dual scimitars, have consonant-heavy first names, and are killable for their phat loot.
  17. If I'm not mistaken, other Kickstarter projects are sending out surveys requesting t-shirt sizes. I'd imagine Obsidian would do the same.
  18. Only if they are patterned after The Hospitaler from Kingdom of Heaven. Director's Cut, of course.
  19. Since, per Tim Cain, they are implementing this with races, they may have also include increased reactivity based on class as well. I imagine it's going to be put in in some fashion one way or another.
  20. Jagged Alliance 2 and Arcanum had fun character creation mechanics. But after the questionnaires, as others have stated, we should have the ability to modify the character sheet prior to finalizing.
  21. Dragon Age actually had a pretty good system with gold > silver > copper. That should be a good takeaway for Obsidian from Bio.
  22. Longknife, fair enough and agree with your last paragraph. In the screen shaking scenario though, there was a little bit of a slow-mo effect, but it didn't last long, no one is locked in place and the gameplay is still running. This is still dissimilar to the distractions from the Bethesda and even Dragon Age style kill cams.
