  1. Lolz. This will never get old. Putting on repeat!
  2. It's a small but definitely elite team. Heavy hitters in this lineup.
  3. Weightless coins. Gold > Silver > Copper Universal currency Dragon Age actually got this aspect right.
  4. BG-like. Each level up should feel special and significant. NPCs also level independently from each other and are assigned shares from the XP awards.
  5. I'll be happy if the manual includes some recipes from Tim Cain.
  6. King of Dragon Pass on the iOS. It's a superb (and superior) port of the original. It's a turnbased strategy game that akes place in the Glorantha/Runequest setting. Basically, you role play the part of a barbarian clan chieftan and you try to forge a tribe out of the neighboring clans and eventually form a kingdom. The music and art is surprisingly very good, especially for an indie game, and the C&C are as good or better than any AAA game out there. Can't believe I missed it the first time it came out.
  7. Will the XP come in multiple copies? Say your reward tier includes multiple downloads of the main game, would the same apply to the XP?
  8. Let's make all health potions highly addictive. It makes sense...for one thing, I imagine they are effective at numbing pain...they give you bursts of renewed energy, and they make you feel good. Take a page out of Fallout, like the super stimpacks.
  9. Too bad GOG doesn't offer a manual reprinting service. There's something to be said about having a tangible old school game manual.
  10. This is one of the games that I pre-ordered a while back that I forgot I actually pre-ordered.
  11. I wonder when someone is gonna make a kickstarter taking advantage of the nostalgia for the classic Total War games (pre-RTW)? -Board game style turn-based strategy -2D background + terrain + animated sprites for tactical component
  12. That entire quote is my exact same sentiment.
  13. I may have to try out the PC version too. I wonder how seamless the save files are when switching from iPad and PC.
  14. PS For the noobs.... Never refer Jefferson/The Black Hound as BG3. Especially not within earshot of Sawyer.
  15. Jefferson and Van Buren. Salut.
  16. That was real too.
  17. I'm kinda surprised Ramza hasn't shown up with all the mentions of The Black Hound. This was right around the time Black Isle was developing BG3 and Fallout 3, each cancelled one after the other. This was essentially the end of Black Isle. By this time Brian Fargo was already forced out, and Herve Caen et al wanted to concentrate on console titles. Plus through other business dealings, Interplay lost the DnD license, and got sued by Bio for royalties. Everyone jumped shipped and Obsidian emerged.
  18. Understood that it's still very early. There's definitely some areas you can take the formation systems, even at the squad level. The original Medieval: Total War may be something you may want to look at as a reference, if you haven't already done so (includes -morale, shock, flanking, environmental conditions, as well as formations). Looking forward to see what you guys can come up with from a tactical perspective!
  19. I'd like to see a hate-mance with Shar-Teel where if she successfully saves against a charm check, the pc will have to make a reflex save against castration.
  20. Bobby, do you anticipate that we will be able toggle loose or close set formations within the pre-sets? Additionally, tin stated that you guys will be looking into charge type attacks? Taking that a step further, will we be able to charge in with a close order wedge formation en masse, into an enemy formation?
  21. Sure. I'll check it out after release. Try it out on the iPad during my daily train commute.
  22. Influence based control sounds intriguing from a role playing standpoint, and makes sense as a game mechanic, but...if implemented, we'll see major player backlash ala spirit eater mechanic. Players like to eat their cake.
