  1. Quiet, Noob. Whatever happened to good old fashioned initiation rituals, like the gauntlet? All this influx of PC lovey-dovey feelzy, Dodgeball hating feministas are eradicating long observed protocol and hierarchy. Madness.
  2. http://youtu.be/5VX7gc9HyYE Abuse. Lols.
  3. Good for Serbia! Pulling it off in the clutch. How many teams that go 2-3 in round-robin in any tournament make it all the way to the finals? I suppose if there is a team to do it, may as well be Serbia, the 7th (bottom) ranked team out of Europe in the tourney, and missing atleast two NBA players due to injury. Pulling for Lithuania for the Bronze over France.
  4. Nah. Not even the best level in a Star Wars game. That would have to be The Battle of Hoth from Shadows of the Empire. Snow Speeders vs. Imperial Walkers!!
  5. http://forums.obsidian.net/topic/67957-crowdfunding-is-now-over/ At this point, we don't know yet what Paradox is going to offer regarding physical releases. I'm suspecting they will still offer a collector's edition as well, but that's just speculation.
  6. This is really good stuff. I spent quite some time watching the Fallout videos as well. Really nice complement material to MCA's Fallout Bible!

  8. Yikes. Serbia 84-56 over Brazil?!! Wondering if Vlade Divac and Oscat Schmidt had a wager going.
  9. Gabriel Knight has a release date: October 15. http://m.pcgamer.com/2014/09/09/gabriel-knight-sins-of-the-fathers-20-anniversary-edition-launches-in-october/
  10. One of the best covers of Stairway to Heaven. Made Robert Plant cry and even Jimmy Page got emotional. More classic Heart. Ann and Nancy Wilson really rocked it back in the day. They're still badass.
  11. Full VoiceOver really only should be used in games where a cinematic presentation is at the forefront of the game design. Obvious examples are KotOR and Mass Effect. With an isometric perspective, our imagination is already at work, as we subconsciously play out interactions in abstract form. Just like a book.
  12. http://www.thescore.com/nba/news/573118 Australia under investigation for tanking against Angola in order to avoid potential USA matchup.
  13. This Oakland meltdown is really irritating.
  14. Yikes. People actually will pay MSRP $120 for a dressed up strategy guide?? Dragon Age Inquisition: Prima Official Inquisitor Edition https://www.amazon.com/dp/1101898216/ref=cm_sw_r_awd_x9qdub0N9HRR1 My Project Eternity pledge seems so much more reasonable now.
  15. Well, I wouldn't use that game as a gauge of how the Niners defense will hold up until they start getting guys back. I don't think you can count on other teams emptying an entire clip into their own foot, reloading, then emptying the next clip into their foot. That's exactly what my fantasy football team is relying on. (Niners Defense)
  16. USA is already pot committed with this style of play. Hubris won't be USA's undoing; it'll be the lack of offensive sophistication as they essentially dedicated whatever practice and prep time they've had almost exclusively to their high risk, his reward, hyper-aggressive defense. As alluded to above, their offense essentially is predicated on the transition fast break (as fueled by their defense) and when in the half court -the classic two man game, and Splash Brother trey. A team whose game plan is to negate their own turnovers and to slow the pace down has the best shot of knocking out USA. They just need the mental fortitude to not cave in and panic when they are blitzed by the Americans. Then they need to make mortal sacrifices and hope USA goes on an extended shooting slump. ...Which could happen because their lack of ball movement won't generate too many easy scores if the defense is effectively denying the middle.
  17. The ball movement of many of these European teams is outstanding. Certainly prettier than the pick n roll, ISO, and post up sets of the Americans. But then again, why bother with finesse when they can just bulldoze through the squishy competition?
  18. Is MCA's 80's High School RPG idea still alive?
  19. For Feargus, re: Sensuki. http://www.uscis.gov/sites/default/files/USCIS/Resources/E2en.pdf
  20. I only need the voice over to provide a baseline of characterization to get a sense of the character. My imagination will handle the rest. The old Infinity Engine games was perfect in this respect. Besides, this game will have a lot of words. A lot. Seems like a waste of resources if most people will just cut off the dialogue after skimming over or reading the text and waiting for the audio to catch up.
  21. Then again, Planescape: Torment had 7 companions, and Obsidian is targeting that level of character depth.
  22. Despite having played the least amount of hours into IWD2 Among all the IE games, I occasionally find myself randomly humming this along to myself - like I did today when I went on a quest to the Post Office. I never really considered the soundtrack for IWD2 all that great, but yet this happens. Only IE track that can do that to me along with the heavily Conan inspired BG main theme. Serious Inon Zur propage for the Tagos theme, Skeleton of a Town. http://youtu.be/9iLKjspPj_k
  23. This is correct, player portraits are kept separate from companions to prevent those awkward moments in your travels. This would also be the case for non-party NPC's as well, I assume?
