  1. I think it already is pretty powerful because of that (also works with Two Handed Style). It's a ranged weapon after all. Btw what happens if you combine Fury with Driving Flight?
  2. Sounds a bit like a bug - but since it would be supermeh otherwise (same as Blood Frenzy) I like it.
  3. That's not true. As Helig of Thein, Nedyn and Concelhaut (and maybe others) taught us: Necromancy is not the same as animancy. You can play a Necromancer as a Chanter and combine it with Wizard as other said above. Chanters can summon "undead" and other creatures like spirits that fit. They also have phrases and invocations that are themed around death, decay and fear. They can also resurrect party members during battle. Wizards have some nice spells that fall into the "necrotic" and "leeching" category, mainly Concelhaut's spells (who actually is a kind of necromancer and a lich) and also some of Kalakoth's freeze based spells. Also stuff that evolves around disease/poison like Malignant Cloud an Noxious Burst could fit. And of course: Necrotic Lance - the signature spell of all skeletal wizards.
  4. It was ok to nerf DT for Deadfire. It was just too strong. But maybe it's a little too weak now. You can make it work with a lot of min-maxing - but in its basic form it's just not very useful now - unless you plan a solo run. Mith Fyr for example is unchanged and much better now in a party.
  5. I think that would be "commodore." Also a good idea for another expansion! Here's a sneak peak into the DLC [board "Vessel",8,1]:
  6. That's why I already like it. Eh, I mean not that I don't like PoE. But for example I like that Josh's approach is classless - for starters.
  7. Why do people think they need a priest for healing? You bring a priest for buffing. Because that's what he's best at. I mean he can also heal, sure, but that's not his best horse in the stables. Healing can be done by a Druid, a Paladin, by self healing like Savage Definiance, Constant Recovery, Veteran's Recovery, Chanter Stuff and whatnot. The priest's healing spells aren't really that awesome to begin with. Same in Deadfire. If you want a dedicated healer you can also pick a Livegiver or a Kind Wayfarer or even a Chanter. But if you want party-wide +20 ACC that stacks with inspirations you bring a priest and nobody else.
  8. In my beta-experience they also stick like flies on sh*t if you use an Unbroken with a heavy one hander (sabre, sword, battle axe and so on) and a shield. The shield gives an extra engagement slot that you won't have with a quarterstaff. You can then use Cleavin Stane instead of Defender. And the block modal of medium shields is pretty useful when surrounded. But the quarterstaff is a nice variant - if you use Defender Stance the additional engagement slot from a shield isn't that important anymore and the disengagement attacks will surely hurt even more. Now I want to try an Unbroken/Wizard with Concelhaut's Staff... hrmpf. Look what you did!
  9. Right. It's fairly easy to get 2500 cp from Heodan. Besides Gaun's Pledge (which is the lion's share) do not forget to sell him the Disappointer and also all the potions you loot. Those are expensive...
  10. What do you mean? Yesterday Dragon Thrashed stacked with a Helwalker/Troubadour with 30 MIG and 30 INT. By the way: Helwalker's +50% received damage isn't so bad if you stack several Courage shields.
  11. That guy over there to the left with the yellow background. That notorious min-maxer didn't max MIG all the time. What a victim...
  12. So Skyrim is not a computer roleplaying game? What is your definition of that term then?
  13. Yeah, three DLCs, really. I mean what were they thinking? The main game will be supershort now I guess. Even shorter than the beta? It may start at lvl 1 and stop at lvl 2. Or it may even have negative duration. Like it's literally over before you even load it up. Don't ask be about the physics but I think that's how it's gonna be. Most likely you need to buy the DLCs to level up further. Every DLC for another 6 levels so you can reach lvl 20 at the end of the last DLC. That's some revenue raising, whoooheeee! Whooooheeeee I say!
  14. You had to back a high enough tier or pay $20 extra in order to gain beta access. Release of the final game is May 8th and the beta is only a small slice of the game (also levels are restricted from 6 to 9) that also is some versions behind the actual game. Paying $20 for the beta now would be a complete waste of money. You'll have to beta-test a lot after release anyway - until the product is porperly balanced and the most annoyong bugs are squished.
  15. For me the interesting part of the Troubadour is not Brisk Recitation but the longer linger time when I'm not using Brisk Recitation. And the versatility that I can switch from linger/chant mode to Brisk Recitation/Invocation mode. As an invocation spammer I like Skald best: offensive invocations like Killers cost -1 phrase (=2) and with a good build and said Killers-invocation you can achieve crits pretty easily in order to get prases more quickly.
  16. I tried a Howler (Mage Slayer/Troubadour) today and Spell Disruption only applied to the initial target. Carnage triggers "The Shield Cracks" though.
  17. Don't companion and ranger share the same Bond pool?
  18. I guess it's because the encounter starts after hitting the enemy and this might reset recovery...? What Do you mean with "hard to achieve"? As long as you don't try to sneak up on Blights or other creatures with a 360° vision it's fairly simple. Some creatures have better ears than others though...
  19. Another hint that Bleak Walkers and Berath are not exactly a no-brainer combo: Try to multiclass a Bleak Walker with a Priest of Berath.
  20. Right. You can also reuse the "non-exploded" corpses over and over again in PoE with White Worms. Don't know if that's also the case with Flesh Communion or White Worms in Deadfire. I turn off gib anyways because I think it's silly that enemies explode from weapons attacks... You can turn gib off in Deadfire, too. I didn't test if Flesh Communion works on exploded bodies... will do... wait a sec... Edit: So I can confirm that you can't eat exploded (death on crit) enemies. Once you turn off gib it works fine and you can have your meal. And yes: you can eat the same enemy multiple times with Flesh Communion. You can also eat yourself, heal up and then die... nice bug!
  21. A fighter that is going to be used as a squishy hunter is the easiest to build in my opinion. He's also strong right from the start which can be a good motivation opposed to other classes that need more time to develop. He won't achieve the damage potential of a rogue or monk but he will be the easiest to play because he mainly uses passives and will hit and crit very reliably with Disciplined Barrage and be very sturdy despite being skilled for offense because of Vigorous Defense. After he got Charge he will experience a massive damage increase: Abilites/Talents: Disciplined Barrage Weapon Focus Ruffian Knockdown Bonus Knockdown Confident Aim Two Weapon Style Vigorous Defense Rapid Recovery Weapon Specialisation Ruffian Weapon Mastery Ruffian Armored Grace Apprentice's Sneak Attack Charge Savage Attack Sundering Blow Fast Runner or Spirit of Decay when using dual Bittercuts High MIG and good INT for self healing. Skill Survival to 12, then wear a hat that gives you +2 to survival and +1 CON (Rugged Wilderness Hat). Also looks like a pirate-thingy on the head... Then choose healing bonus while camping. With the Cloak of the Tireless Defender and a belt of Bountiful Healing he will be nearly unkillable as long as Constant Recovery is running. He can then wear up to durganized scale armor + Gauntlets of Swift Action (or Mourning Gloves for a little tiny bit of recovery but good bonuses on kill) + dw durganized sabres and have 0 recovery without using any active speed buff. Sturdy and pretty good auto-attack dps. Also good single target CC with 3 knockdowns per encounter. Concerning the Prondroni build: it's themed around fancy vailian stuff. You can just take the basic principle (stacking crazy move speed + attack speed, combined with Force of Anguish which is the best single target CC effect I know of) and build a swashbuckler out of it with eyepatch, baggy pants ans sabres and all. The great passive move speed alone makes it lots of fun to play. I chose the vailian theme also because both rapier and dagger come with speed and +5 acc which is great for dps and CC, but sabres are also nice. With durgan steel, Gauntlets of Swift Action and Vulnerable Attack + Swift Strikes on he could attack with 0 recovery in leather armor. --- Another nice squishy hunter I forgot is the ranger - be he's best with Persistence + focus on pet damage - so no dual wielding sabre guy unfortunately
  22. In PoE it now triggers unlimited times per encounter (although description says otherwise). In Deadfire beta only once per encounter.
