How good is Enervating Blows really?
Did another test: Hit my same party member who now has 192/192 health (set CON from 10 to 20) with Forbidden Fist: 192/192 deal 40 crush + enfeebled --> 123/163 enfeebled expires --> 151/192 = 41 less health (note: 41 and not 40) deal 41 crush + enfeebled --> 87/163 enfeebled expires --> 106/192 = 86 less health deal 41 crush + enfeebled --> 49/163 enfeebled expires --> 60/192 = 132 less health I caused 132 less health - although I only hit for 40+41+41 = 122 crush damage. While enfeebled lasted after the third hit (49 left) I actually caused 143 "temporary" dmg although only applied 122 crush damage. If you can keep up the CON-Affliction until the enemy's dead - that's pretty good. And as i said: even if you cannot - it's not bad.

How good is Enervating Blows really?
Did another test: Hit my party member with Forbidden Fist (applies Enfeebled - same thing in this case) who has 133/133 health: 133/133 deal 32 crush + enfeebled --> 72/104 enfeebled expires --> 101/133 = 32 less health deal 34 crush + enfeebled --> 44/104 enfeebled expires --> 62/133 = 71 less health I caused 71 less health which is the same as dealing 71 dmg - although I only hit for 32+34 = 66 crush damage. As you can see when I hit him the second time: the current remaining health went down from 101 to 44 (= 67 difference!) although I only hit for 34 dmg. The difference is even more obvious if you hit high health enemies. Then a CON affliction is worth several hits. If you manage to reduce health to zero while a CON affliction is in the works then it is a very strong effect in my opinion - but even if it expires before the kill: it's still a good effect as you can see.

How good is Enervating Blows really?
Did a quick test: first comes the stunning roll against the full fortitude, then stunning gets applied (-10 fortitude). The weakening doesn't seem to roll against defenses at all. Once you land a crit it gets applied no matter what - but in this case it's the last effect that will get applied. It doesn't show up in the combat log, but it pops up after stunning (over the enemy's head). After both got applied the enemy will be stunned and weakened for the same base duration. Deflection -10, fortitude -20 and so on.

Don't know which roll (Weakened against Fortitude or Stunned against Fortitude) comes first - but both lower Fortitude by 10.

Deadfire Polishing Poll
As I said: the Hold Beast and Charm Beast spells could as well go to another trinket. One called "The Tamer". Or "The Beast Whisperer", hehe. Would be a nice trinket for a "Beastmaster" I guess.

Yes, but often those debuffs are actives that need quite some resources. Evervating Blows' weakening costs nothing (once you took it). Also the most effective abilites in the game seem to target fortitude. No wonder why it's the highest and most difficult to lower.

Sure. The apprearance doesn't really matter to me. I didn't know if it's possible or worthwhile to create an "bugs-only" version of each of those so I kept it vanilla. Also because the main motivation for trinkets is not only to allow fancy builds but also to provide the Druid with situationally useful spells that he wouldn't pick normally - because they are too situational to justify the use of an ability point. Of course once could simply take them away here and create a seperate trinket for that purpose (like a dressage whip ). I mean you can switch trinkets during encounter - so there's no harm if they are not all equally good - but still provide some flexibility. Yes, wasn't sure about it either but just put some ideas there. My motivation for this is: I don't like the current Shifter implementation at all. You don't emphasize on a single form (let's say Boar) and bring it to perfection but istead you shift into everything. I get that's more changelin-ish and galawain-like, sure - but I still don't like that idea. Also not from a roleplaying perpective. I try to find a portrait and look that resembles a bit the form I'm shifting into - you know really embracing the Spiritshift form - but with a Shifter you're like a Kid who can't decide between Hotdogs or Burgers. I always wanted the Shifter to get a spiritshift modal and disabled spellcasting while the modal is active. But then we got this other Shifter - now the trinket can't just cancel spellcasting while shifted (where's the disadvantage or use for the Shifter at all) - instead I thought a general -5 PL would be nice. I mean you can easily switch away if you need better spells - but it will demotivate from casting spells as long as you use it. Maybe one could just exclude Shifters from use (? possible) and then indeed turn Spiritshift into a modal that disables spellcasting? Taste of the Hunt: I think that it's a pity that you can only use it 2/encounter max, especially for SC Druids. It was also just a test balloon to see what people would think about stuff like that. All not set in stone of course. Just some random ideas.

I'd also say that in general the health reduction is the best part. Especially against enemies with big health pools but lowish deflection. Of course it's best if you have some synergy like Kaylon said: fortitude attacks and/or Sneak Attack or being a Steel Garrote or Beguiler and so on. Especially if you want to attack fortitude anyway and have access to any MIG affliction ability as well. Then CON affliction and MIG afflicition stack their defense debuffs to -20. Let's say Monk/Barb: Staggered + Weakened = -20 fortitude. Add Body Blows: -45. Add Brute Force. Lowering a defense for your buddies and critting all over the place with nearly no extra micro and resources: Not bad, not bad at all.

I would say that changes in general don't get received well. Even if they are good.

[4.1.2 MAJOR BUG] Broken core mechanic: Afflictions not supressable/not removable by inspirations
Boeroer replied to thelee's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)Liberating Exhortation may well be since it's a single target spell. I'm still thinking that Prayer didn't work because it was an AoE spell that you can't put on targets directly. But as I said: it's been a while. Edit: I wouldn't complain if Suppress Affliction did work on flipped allies of course. I just wanted to make sure that nobody's thinking it doesn't because of the current bug we are talking about. So there's no Confusion affliction while bug tracking you know... So I cast a Suppress Affliction on that one since it ususally works with Confusion but then realized we still have this bug and it maybe wouldn't work and then... ok fine I'll stop.

Boeroer replied to bringingyouthefuture's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)If I understood correctly, those "special" reviews will not even get removed, but they won't count towards the overall rating anymore. Damn I can't find the article now. Did I accidentially delete my browser history? However - please correct me if I'm wrong.

Boeroer replied to Zerethyn's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)You mean the subforum. You can put it into this forum or this here: https://forums.obsidian.net/forum/136-beta-feedback-for-turn-based-mode/ Just read this before posting a bug: https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/97377-how-to-report-a-bug/

Boeroer replied to bringingyouthefuture's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Yesterday I read that Steam is now able to filter out those crackbrained reviews. Don't know how - maybe they just let some poor guys moderate them. Apparently there are/were a ton of such reviews whose authors were all motivated by the current "Now exclusive on Epic Store" frustration. The double middle finger ascii "art" was very common...

New Character - Fighter
Let's see. Maybe like this: Disciplined Barrage Weapon Focus <whatever your backup weapon is> Knockdown Bonus Knockdown Confident Aim Scion of Flame Armored Grace Runner's Wounding Shot Weapon Specializatzion Two Handed Style Unbroken Weapon Mastery Charge Savage Attack Sundering Blow Apprentice'S Sneak Attack High ACC bonuses and good graze-to-hit conversion early in the game make the hardest part of the game (the early game) very easy. So that would always be my priority.

Melee solo build that works on latest patch (fun to play; not chanter)
Look at the build "The Cauterizer" in the pinned build list. It's tons of fun and should work well on easy/normal. You can adjust its attributes for solo play (e.g. RES is too low and needs a raise to prevent interrupts). As a solo char you can level to 7 pretty quickly in order to unleash the pure fun that is Firebrand + Blood Thirst. Because of self heals and Barb's immense health pool (after some levels) it's also a rel. sturdy build. Only the first few levels will be tough (like with every Barbarian).

Enchanting Level vs Character Level Chart?
Remember that retraining was not a thing on release but got added later - with a patch. Maybe the players weren't as vocal about removing/reapplying enchantments as they were about retraining. I agree that it would be nice to be able to remove enchantments, but the lack of this option doesn't warrant statements such as "ya, NS idiots, where’s the chart?"

Deadfire Polishing Poll
Example for trinkets part 2 (keep in mind: just ideas): Druid: Shrunken Head of the PŵgraAppearance: make an educated guess... Description: This pŵgra had been corrupted by the destruction of their home tree. Just as delemgan seek to maintain the health of their forests, pŵgra seek to corrupt them. Since they can no longer draw essence from a healthy forest, they must survive by drawing energy and essence out of plants, animals, and kith. The rot that infects them usually endows their attacks with a ghastly poison. This shrunken head seems to have a similar effect on you as soon as you wear it. Pŵgra decorate themselves with the skulls, skins, and feathers of enemies they've killed. Now you can do the same. Effects:Corrupting Roots: +1 PEN with all Decay abilites (like Spirit of Decay, stacks), -20% healing done contained spells:Touch of Rot Autumn's Decay Spreading Plague Form of the Pŵrga (as Form of the Delemgan, but keyword Decay instead of Beast +6 corrode instead of burn AR, +6 slash instead of pierce AR and immune to poison and disease instead of dex afflictions) Putrefaction (like Nature's Terror, but corrosion damage, keywords Elements & Decay) Rot Skulls Rusted Armor Entropy Touch of Death Wooden GrubAppearance: Description: effects:Lord of the Bugs: +1 lvl-2. +1 lvl-3, +1 lvl 5 and +1 lvl 9 spell uses, -3 PL to all Plant spells contained spells:Charm Beasts Insect Swarm, Hold Beasts Beetle Shell, Infestation of Maggots - Plague of Insects - - - - The Changeling's FleeceDescription: a nondescript piece of fur of unknown origin. Natural Born Predator: +10% melee dmg while shifted contained spells:Taste of the Hunt Taste of the Hunt Taste of the Hunt As I said: just some ideas and inspirations. Brainstorming sort of.
