Well, there is no other way to do it really. The fight revolves around splitting them up, watching their buffs and final blow on Theos. There are couple of variations, one of them includes getting the game to pause by alt + tab to desktop just before the fight, but as far as I know all of them include decoys to isolate and possibly summons to deal some damage/cause distraction/flank.

Not gonna edit for this --- 95 PotD Was it not for the spiders probably 80, shield I did not need another 4, 1 backer, maybe somewhere else few --- edit: actually, The Forgotten was forced on me when I took the quest then had to travel through the bridge to Act 3. I did not use the armor. So that would be another 6? less.

Optimal for ironman is to chose path of the least resistance and risk because one crit can end it. For example, I would like to see someone to manage to beat the spirits in the hall of caed nua 10 times in row - reliably. People claim they can do it but I have not seen it nor I found 100% reliable way to do it and I've been there a lot. Even kiting bandits to trolls I don't think its 100% reliable and whoever done it should know why. If someone uses quit and reload, well, there is no measure to taste but its not triple crown in my book. To avoid risky encounters Stealth/Mechanics and high Per, Int and Res are needed. Since you've done all the fetch low risk quests, and do not have(?) Stealth high enough to loot Raedrick, you need to go south to the broken bridge. However, to avoid almost impossible encounter with paralyzing kobold there you need to travel from different location than Black Meadow. This way you enter the map from west not north and can safely do one quest there. This, together with exploring every map and looting, should get you level 4 and enough money to buy figurine.

Level 1 - Spirit Shield. Not for DR but for 20 concentration. Chill Fog does nothing in my experience. Slicken I used only to break up groups. Fleet Feet, for example, I used more frequently. Act I - figurine else encounters like Bears are not pleasant. Act II - why not Wizardy rings? Personally, I prefer Fast Runner and Deep Pockets instead of One-Handed Style or Superior Deflection. 3 Athletics asap? Not for me. Stealth 5 and Mechanics 3 asap. Also I am not sure how damage is not issue? In my experience damage is everything because its not possible to endure encounters PoTD solo its only possible to finish them asap, hence damage. But if it worked for you alright. --- edit: btw I would be more interested in the Bear vid for example than final fight.

As noted in another thread, I think, its possible only with character with disengagement ability. That would be Rogue (I play) or perhaps Priest. When faced with situations like in lighthouse, scripted encounters, the only way to beat it is to beat the script which was meant to engage player. With Rogue, go in and let the script trigger. Summon something, I like Noble Creature for this purpose, and disengage (go invisible via Shadowing Beyond). Now, if you positioning and timing was appropriate you can go through the door, close them, and wait for the summon to die because as soon as it dies combat will usually (it did not work in the tower in Heritage Hill for example) end enabling stealth and the usual business. So yes, the only way to beat such encounters is by exploiting AI/game mechanics. Though to me its not any different than casting Fire on weak to fire creatures. IIRC it took me to execute about the same time it took me to clear it on solo Wiz. Well, except top floor as that is brutal and after several hours of trying to figure it out with level 7 Wiz I left and came back at level 9.

You are talking about founding mothers and fathers at Bioware who made lolRPG DA:I or wtfRPG DA2. They make games for anyone to pick up because they are owned by EA and EA does not **** around. I do not think PoE is easier than the games its taken legacy from. It is also not made for solo nor its easy solo. As far as ironman goes, well, people been doing it long before achievements even existed (Jagged Alliance 2 .. that was hard) but personally I would not even attempt ironman in this game and I've playing almost exclusively solo.

Weapon talents are designed in such way that there is one type of weapon/damage included in every talent. This suggests that switching weapon types depending on encounter is meant by design or at least made possible by design. Is there need or is it essential to switch weapons (except melee/ranged)? There are only 2 unique clubs iirc If there were encounters which would be very difficult to near impossible to beat without crushing weapons we would not be talking here about clubs. I do not have the stats but from I gather here it seems to me that people pick for example 2H at level 1 and stick with it till level 12. War hammer? Who cares and who needs? Same with club. I have Sabre and Sabers are cool. Cool and apparently effective. Buff club so 2W Barb could run around with it .. alright but that wont change anything.

Random loot generation
knownastherat replied to dukefx's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Stories (Spoiler Warning!)
First of all, there is no truth to be found and whether RNG loot or not is matter of opinion. Period Secondly, the claim that RNG loot has this or that influence on replay-ability needs evidence. As far as I know there is none. Not here, not at Obsidian, not anywhere. If there is any lets see it. Though I cant imagine how it could be tested. How the idea came about I do not even want to speculate. Lastly, my opinion is that RNG loot (generally) sucks and I prefer to know locations of items I want to customize my character with as it adds to replay-ability for me. I plan my characters, parties, and replays around it. Just imagine you had RNG as reward for your work. That's bull**** eh? -
With Combusting Wounds on top. If it counts as "hit" or "being wounded"

No kidding. If there's one thing I dislike about the game its pathing. I think the Maerwald fight is kind of nice change after those cold Spirits. Unlike the large hall, the small room and rooms around offer different challenge and so does the boss himself. While Its not Kangaxx there are possibly indeed 50 ways to win this fight.
