Pazifism
Act I There is no need to do Aufra/Ranga quest in Anslogs Compass. Shipment is possible to steal without anything else (luring trolls as that is tricky) Caed Nua can be zero kills. Act II With your Res Serel will give you the amulet and also you can get Might + 2 amulet from quest giver instead of cloak. The Weal scroll ... note Pwgras and Trolls located just east of the thieves. Aggro the wild creatures and lead them to thieves. I wonder if its possible to get the two gang of thieves in Ondra's Gift to fight each other. They are relatively far from each other so they might break agro while chasing. Purnisc, well, his imposter has Per check in initial dialogue. Maybe it leads to peaceful solution? --- Sneak past the Phantoms and Shadows, left side, like if you were going to open the door. The statue will trigger dialogue regardless and combat starts. Use figurine to summon decoy and run back to entrance. When summon is dead combat will end. Go to stealth and sneak past them. The doors are open now.

Interrupt Build?
They can act like vs they are not mechanic equal to stunlock? I guess it depends on who is getting interrupted. Fast attacking creature without debuff will not get stunlocked by interrupt while paralyze is independent of attack speed and recovery. Sometime like that?

Solo Builds
I try that, but 175 kills is really low and I fear i might be too weak for the endgame. Act 1 went quite smooth after I managed to get into Raedric's Hold. You can loot the whole stronghold if you sneak him up and agree to kill his cousin. I only needed to kill a single guard on my way. I had to reload very often, though. In Act 2, I did all the running quests and the Catacombs, now I am up to choose a fraction and have to clear Heritage Hill. Since I am only level 5, I see a problem there. So far I have 35 kills and could be slightly lower (I killed Plate Mail Backer Guy in Gilded Vale and Eorn in the Catacombs). My plan is to kill as few as possible and do some bounties to level up, since I figured I get the best exp/kill there. I did not touch Caed Nua. If I find out I am to weak for the end fight, I will split up the save: one fork with a level 12 char to solo and another one with companions for the pazifist completion. This is very interesting. I am not down for it but I do appreciate optional solutions. Since I have no knowledge past Act 2 I cant comment but maybe the pacifist way would deserve its own thread. --- edit: I took Eorn prisoner and he broke out

Solo Builds
This is my current "gold standard" Wizard Talents: Arcane Veil, Hardened Veil, Bonus 1st Level spell, Bonus 2nd Level spell, work in progress probably more casting power Thanks to MadDemiurg for tips and inspiration. Relatively high Res helps with casting, dialogue and deflection. Deflection seems sufficient, wearing Aloth medium though could probably cloth, with Veil. Wood Elf because its standard not hybrid or variant. Wizard casts and keeps distance. What else? Merchant Lore and Mechanics. Exp and loot are never enough. Stealth while essential early can be reliably boosted with items.

Path of the Damned Shades
Any strategy is justified as long as it works. Or rather the other way around, strategy is justified only if it works. What if I told you that the developers "meant" .. the Lighthouse to be done without spells and abilities? Just Raw like real men and well women? What bearing does it have on your or general strategy?

Path of the Damned Shades
I am not sure if its best .. but that is what I do. But the question was for you since you were questioning motives and actions of someone else. So I am questioning you who seem to have some mental block with doorways. Others might have irresistible urge to fight lost or risky battles. Why do we question each other?

Path of the Damned Shades
Correct me if I'm wrong, but shouldn't you try to use the most efficient tactic available, doorways included?

Path of the Damned Shades
The top room, the boss, has no doors.

Cipher warfare - CSI (cipher strike, inc) POTD face roll
Face roll? I do not what that is because when I sense it I quit it. I can roll my face in pillow not pillars if I wanted. Good luck anyway, face rolling.

Solo Builds
Been playing solo since week after release - mostly wizards and ciphers - and my observations are that "how to approach" the game is more important than "how to build" character. This is not to say that build is not important but +/- points to stats or talents will not save solo character if s/he choose wrong inappropriate paths. Another thing to consider while playing solo is pacifist method. That means being able navigate through dialogues (usually high Per or Res checks) to get favorable results, sneaking past difficult encounters or luring group of enemies to another group of enemies (speed boost is handy here). For example, with Stealth 5 and Mechanics 3 its possible to get to Caed Nua without fighting anything at all as early as level 3 with certain classes (items). Value of this approach should be clear to anyone who attempted to beat Phantoms and Shadows in the hall or the boss himself solo. The game was not designed/balanced for soloing but to me it seems there was some consideration for this play style when designing certain mechanics/encounters. The pacifist achievement itself indicates that one does not need full part to finish play through the game. 6 pacifists is the same like 1 pacifist All in all, do not worry about build too much but know the game and its quirks well else its gonna be painful solo

melee cipher build
Initial Focus 40 Mental Binding (paralyze) cost 15 Focus According to combat log enemy was paralyzed almost whole time and if it was not it was not of lack of Focus but bad timing End Focus 43 If you want to put it that way, yes I took screen shot lasting 14 sec. Though I am still not sure where those 14 comes from. Mine hits are for 9 sec and grazes for 4.5 sec and target was still paralyzed the whole time despite much shorter time than in dispute. lamo

melee cipher build
You are saying it like if I was theory crafting. I actually play the character (build) I talk about. I hit with 3 Mig for 15 damage two weapon style 2 focus per hit 19 Dex. Actually, I find mind self forgetting about using focus because melee is fun and enough. Lvl 6, Mig 3, Lion --- edit: this is not good example how to do it. shield out of stealth + 10 deflection, than some debuff. That would probably result in not getting hit at all and maybe shorter fight.

What class do you play as?
It is indeed Luckily its .. fantasy.

melee cipher build
The low survival claim comes from some context not familiar to me. Cipher can get relatively high deflection and on its own has powerful debuffs and cc to avoid getting hit. Blinded, Dazed, Frightened, Sickened etc enemies cant hit relatively high defense easily. Not talking about Paralyze almost at will. Cipher cannot tank 6 wolves is not matter of low survivability. That is matter of using wrong tools for given job. Low survival in comparison to what? 1on1 Cipher will possibly stunlock anyone to death. Not to get gangbanged indeed. Mobility and speed can help with that.

What class do you play as?
Mostly Wizard. Play mage everywhere as I like, well, casting and versatility.

Whos better dps Mork or Barb?
You are free to say anything you like. It just I am getting frustrated. I play the game to my best abilities, trying different builds and tactics, then I come here to read depredatory remarks about my play style. Perhaps depredatory remarks should be made towards devs who put it in the game in the first place? But who has balls for that ..
