You played BG and think this is overpowered? You seen my post about turning dragons into squirrel and beating in about 3 mins playing solo BG. In these kind of games there are powerful mechanics. That is how it works. I do not know what you problem is. If you do not like it, do not use it. And if you cant win fight any other way but using these powerful mechanics, well, what to say? L2P

Stop insulting people please. Not everyone is a star player like you. And personally, I would expect to be able to defeat a dragon without using every little trick in the game if I can steamroll the final boss. E.g. it's not that strange that people find the Adra Dragon way too hard to beat. So again, it's not necessary to insult them for lack of skills nor is it necessary to insult people who're basically telling you that you're insulting people. Anyway, I am glad I had some petrify traps on me. After a dozen tries I went 'f*** this' and had the precise thought OP has: If you're going to cheat, I'm going to cheat. Placed the trap, watched as it got petrified for a lousy 7 seconds, cursed because 7 seconds wouldn't be enough... then practically disintegrated the thing within 3 seconds in an all out desperate attack. After being instakilled by that thing for a dozen times it felt incredibly good to reverse the instakilling for a change! That is the thing that you, OP and quite a few others think this, and other mechanics in the game, is cheating. It is not. Its legitimate. That is why you are newbies.

lol what you do not seem to consider is the fact that the designers wanted you to find them on your adventures not to just .. buy them for money Good stuff here. I also prefer to kill for them. Its cheaper and fun. Besides the spells I want I pick or my buddy parked in tavern studying them. Told him library but no. I want to stand in the tavern studying magic naked. Alright.

Dropping Per and Res to min results in - 14 Deflection. Sure Wizard has low inherit deflection. To compensate Wizard has magical means. I said compensate, not buff, because that is how I understand it. IMO Wiz does not make good tank because of prep and lack of talents. But when in melee Wiz can leech and debuff well enough to be able to take few hits and/or not have phenomenal deflection. Following from here Con becomes of value.

Seems like OP has plan with 0 Athletics hence the question about availability of supplies. As I said there are on every map so one does not have to go back cheese and exploit the free Inn ..lol This may apply for party play though. The thing is, what is the minimum and least risky way to reach level 4 and to have means of dealing with 2 tough encounters at Caed Nua? Temple is generally not good option. The toughest fights are probably Ranga tasks - the skirmisher with stun is just lol. Ferry Flotsam are 2 relatively weak mobs. Without doing Late for Dinner at level 3 with ease one can forget about PotD right here. Blacksmith is stealth. Bears are probably no go without reload. Wolves are so so. And Mill is talk only. Then its possible to isolate few mobs for exp and explore every "map". I certainly rested more than once doing Ranga so I was all In,

You quote yourself now? Good job. I fought him once again in this play through, had different spells, but the result was the same - first try - so I am lead to believe this one goes into the less risky ones. btw at level 5 I was able, not consistently but about 2 reloads, to just run through the temple in Guilded Vale. Not pulling one by one but was able to take on the whole packs. Contribute it to different spell selection and figurine.

Otiluke's Resilient Sphere - This spell causes victim to save vs. spell if unsuccessful target creature is imprisoned in a sphere immune to all damage incapable of affecting outside world as much as outside world is incapable of affecting trapped being. Sphere can be destroyed with Dispel Magic - http://baldursgate.wikia.com/wiki/Otiluke%27s_Resilient_Sphere No its normal 100% sure.

Like using 6 custom min/maxed characters? Game breaking in single player game can only be feature which prevents player from doing something. The game, as far as we know, does not care if someone is breaking her or not. If player feels feature is too powerful or is uncomfortable with it for whatever reason player is free not to use it. There is no such a thing as game breaking if its not forced upon player. Unless player would break it for her/him self in which case ...

From what I understand of these things the first time you enter an area it generates a seed that is then used to determine random loot for that area. So if you enter an area containing a chest / stash with random loot assigned and then save the game, that seed is saved to your game such that it won't matter how many times you reload after having that seed generated, all the loot will be fixed. So the only way to save-scum random loot is to create a save game prior to entering the area in which the container exists and then entering the area, clearing / stealthing your way to that container and open it, if it doesn't contain your item, reload the game. It worked for me, different loot was generated unless my mind is playing trick on me, that is why I mentioned it. Trying it is worth minute.

Figurine is good value early on sure but since it was first try I do not think it would make it any difference. I have save there and I think I can reproduce it reliably enough. I do not shoot for Iron Man and do recognize **** happens. Dunno if I could live without reloads I had more trouble with Maerwald. I forgot Bulwark which was big mistake. Getting the beetles involved and clash with Maerwald and his adds is reproducible, again contrary to the triple crown guide unlike spiders, but its possible to take quite a lot of damage in the process. Maerwald usually wins the fight and even if majority of his spells are gone he still posses threat so good condition for this part is crucial. Anyway, I am getting my figurine now, for free, from the big city! Cheap cheap
