Definitive FAQ on Beraths Blessings
InsaneCommander replied to Karkarov's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I found a bug with the +2 skill Blessing. When I play as an Assassin/Evoker I get the bonus for 9 of the 10 skills from my classes. Sleight of hand doesn't get it. I'll report it in the right forum, but if anyone creates a rogue and uses this blessing, please check to see if it happens. Edit: it happened again, with another character of the same classes:

The General Level Scaling / Difficulty Thread (not POTD)
InsaneCommander replied to pstone's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I don't know how they will fix it, but with multiclass Deadfire has more replay value and it needs a good PotD to satisfy us on multiple playthroughs.

Wizard - Hail new cheese king!
I think this was possible in PoE1. I usually started combats by casting rolling flames and crackling bolt. Then I moved my wizard to the back and let the enemy approach my party. It was not that big of an advantage if the enemy comes, but it was fun. If the enemy died outside of combat, it would get boring really fast, imo. I'm not 100% sure, but I think there was a battle when the enemies wouldn't come and when I got close one of them was dead. So this tactic might work in PoE1.

What do you think, should the Blessing of Berath to be changed or removed for PotD difficulty?
InsaneCommander replied to PIRI's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I don't see why it would ruin PotD. Some people will want to play on the most difficult level but doing some things differently. For example: - playing solo with the stat bonus - with enough money to buy a better boat and going straight to more difficult battles - being able to hire a full party of custom companions - starting at level 4 to skip the first area quickly Also, if they add "Berath's Curses" then you could make the game much more interesting by combining good and bad stuff. Instead of removing these options, I suggest that they add more achievements for those who don't use BoBs. It would be like those Triple Crown or Ultimate ones from PoE.

[POTD Difficulty] Launch NOT tuned discussion thread
InsaneCommander replied to Haran's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I hope they include lots of enemies in some areas, in PotD. Some battles in The White March had many enemies and were very satisfying.

The Ship combat thread
InsaneCommander replied to Odoakar's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I did this by luck/instinct in my first combat. I really enjoyed it. I know the first battle is not supposed to be difficult, but it felt good I really like ship combat. It surprises me too.

List of items at the unique vendor with price/descriptions (berath's blessing, new game plus)
InsaneCommander replied to lunattic's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)Thanks for taking the time to post it here. And for the tip with the Captain's Banquet. I think we can craft more of those later, right? If that is the case, they will work better in the early game as an investment to buy these items.

Zoom level, and walk defaults
InsaneCommander replied to peters86's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Are you using the "SetZoomRange" console command? I use "SetZoomRange 0.25 4" and I can get really close to the characters. But if are talking about defining a zoom level so that you don't have to scroll the mouse when you enter a new area, I don't know if it is possible.

The General Level Scaling / Difficulty Thread (not POTD)
InsaneCommander replied to pstone's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Maybe they could add an option to set the enemy level. So instead of upscaling it to match the watcher, it would go even higher. Same level is too easy? Try one or two above. Having no problem in PotD? Make it five or ten. IIRC that someone beat PoE1 solo without leveling up, so even playing with all enemies upscaled to level 20 might be too easy for some...

Vella, Xoti question...
InsaneCommander replied to Tanjaxxx's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I haven't played much, but so far I had only one dialogue with Vela, when I was talking to a guy from the ship on the beach. Since then, all I got was some phrases like "Yes captain." or "I need a drink" (probably bad influence from the crew ). She doesn't show much emotion towards the watcher.

Why do you play the class that you do?
InsaneCommander replied to PneumaticFire's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Did you play with a multiclass rogue? If so, do you think it as worthy losing the high level abilities? No, I played as a pure rogue assassin. It was great And high level abilities turned out to be very good, especially for assassin who needs invisibility to hit really big. Sneak attack also scales with power level so I got to 75% at level 20. I'm not sure I will want to dilute all that with any multiclass now. Good to know. I'm almost decided now. Assassin/Evoker. But based on your comment, I have more thinking to do...

Ship Names and "The Defiant"
InsaneCommander replied to Verenti's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I'll change my ship's name as I buy new ships. And it will also be based on my character's class on each playthrough. For example: Priest of Berath: Berath's Judgement Priest of Magran: Magran's Fury, Flames of Hel, Godrammer (Eothas is the target ) Fury Druid: Stormbringer

Anyone else having trouble making a character and sticking to it?
InsaneCommander replied to Zander72's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I can't choose my class, but I'll continue to play to get some achievements (for Berath's Blessings) and to know what the companion dispositions are. Hopefully by the time I'm done they will have fixed the worst bugs.

Companions and Romance
InsaneCommander replied to InsaneCommander's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I never saw her again after leaving Vilario's Rest. Couldn't find her anywhere on the ship. I have no idea what happened. Just checked and I found her in my room. She doesn't look very fond of the Watcher. "Need something captain?" is not what I'd expect from my daughter, but maybe she is pretending to be a pirate or something.

Having problem playing as (Lawful) Evil...
InsaneCommander replied to Hazmy's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)You can start with companions and kick them out of your party when they start whining about your lifestyle. Then you recruit the sidekicks and assume they are quiet because they heard a rumor you killed the companions. Edit: Or is it possible to actually kill them?

Having problem playing as (Lawful) Evil...
InsaneCommander replied to Hazmy's topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I want to play as a deceptive/aggressive pirate but I may change my mind because of the companions. Have you tried the sidekicks? Do you know if they are okay with bad behavior?

InsaneCommander replied to a post in a topic in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Stories (Spoiler Warning!)I'm also very interested in this information, so I can plan my party. However I suspect that I'll end up replacing someone with a sidekick anyway. I haven't progressed much yet, but I'll play Neketaka today so I'll have more soon. This is what I got so far: Night Market Eder: Leaden Key Aloth: Xoti: Serafen: Tekehu: Maia Exhiled Pallegina:
