I feel like a relapsed alcoholic. My brain is on fire trying to optimize the best builds, party composition, skill synergies, ship crew and equipment, and consumables, and quests order, and stuff. I am nauseated by the starting Island and the Engwithan Dicksite after a bazilion restarts. I'm doing 3 playthroughs simultaneously. A blast, I say! X)3 points

I think it's a good indication of how content people are with the game. Sometimes it's for stupid reasons, but sometimes it's for good reasons, and you have to read the reviews to get a general idea why. For new games with no big franchise to bring a load of expectations, a review trends tend to be more informative of actual quality, I've found.2 points

I made a brand new Druid Watcher and set him up with twin stones to test. At what point the ability becomes bugged. It wasn't long... On starting the game Twin Stones can be aimed and fired. I then made a save and quit completely out of the game. On load Twin Stones works but at a certain rotation will lock in a direction all of a sudden and cannot be fired afterwards. Unless I quit completely out of the game again loading that same save will have Twin Stones stuck. I then did some experiments with the Kitt save and yeah it does seems to immediately bug out on load and affect the ability in the new save. Activating other AoE abilities seems to increase the amount of lines. Interestingly when I went to capture footage I stumbled onto a way of getting it unstuck, at least temporarily, using Stag Horns. Looking through the output_log.txt of that session the previously mentioned error message appears until aiming Stag Horns then disappears completely. Most curious...2 points

Im 60 hours into Kenshi and its time for my first detailed " newbie Kenshi review " Firslty Im loving the game and its highly recommended. You just need to learn mechanics and what the game is and what it isnt I was considering quitting after 2-3 hours because I didnt really understand the design, mechanics and point. When people say its " open-world and sandbox " I misunderstood what that really means and how effectively that is a part of the game But you can choose a myriad of different roles, professions and activities and this applies to the decisions you make. So you can decide to be a slaver, bounty hunter, trader or get involved in factional wars. You dont have classes and whatever you decide to do there are several things you have to do and always be aware of and the 2 most important considerations are raising your combat skills and finding ways to generate money because everything costs money Combat for me is the best and most rewarding part of the game, especially as you become more skilled and you can defeat powerful enemies I am focusing on exploration and bounty hunting. I have a 12 man party and I have dedicated teams of 2 people to skills like lockpicking, crafting and healing. Everyone in my party can fight but not everyone is an effective healer I have bought a property in Worlds Edge, I like the ethos and views of the Tech Hunters and they control this city. I also use this property for research, training and crafting, I havent really got into crafting in a detailed way but I imagine I will My focus is finding ruins and looting them and then completing bounties. The exploration part of the game often yields random, interesting and rewarding places to discover . I came across the hidden HQ of the Flotsam Ninjas, the creatures and forgotten ruins of the Leviathan Coast and other sites that make exploration worthwhile In one ruin in one building behind a locked door I came across a high level NPC who I could have extorted for money but instead he joined my party and he has become an invaluable combat addition because his melee attack is 60 and my party was around 35-45. This is just another example of how exploring gives you Easter Eggs and outcomes that are very beneficial to your party Im not sure if I will try to build a city, maybe I will. But right now Im really enjoying my current activities1 point

Maybe wait for the trial and see if the " dirty NYC cop " is actually dirty I really like Adams and I will be very disappointed if he is found guilty of corruption1 point

Is it actually free speech when a significant number of said posts come from bots? Once nobody can spot an actual human opinion, you're just polluting the discussion.1 point

My memory is that he was a TV director who had a moneymaker lowbudget film (The Delinquents) that after a couple of middling results with other films got hired to direct M*A*S*H* which was a huge critical and commercial success. This led to a string of critically acclaimed but poor box office films (like Brewster McCloud, McCabe and Mrs. Miller, the Long Goodbye) mild hits (Nashville) and a major flop (Quintet). Because of the critical acclaim, he had a lot of admirers in Hollywood (like Ladd Company head, Alan Ladd jr) so continued to be sought after, but often with an attempt to attach him to a more commercial project. Comic based properties were hot in the late 70s. Robert Evans lost a bidding war over Annie which was already a popular Broadway musical, so decided to make his own comic strip movie musicsl and settled on Popeye. He hired Jules Fieffer, a well known cartoonist and fan of E. C. Segar's THIMBLE THEATER, where Popeye debuted. Evans planned for Dustin Hoffman to play Popeye, Lily Tomlin as Olive Oyl, and for it to be directed by John Schlesinger (Midnight Cowboy, Marathon Man). After all those people dropped out or passed (excepting Feiffer), Altman's people put him forward as the project was commercial but also playing to his strengths in ensemble storytelling. It was a huge hit but the troubles in production - clashes between Altman and Evans, between Altman and Williams (who threatened to walk), Altman and Harry Nilsson (who did walk), a number of script changes (including removal of the original end that would have had Bluto working for the Sea Hag, leading to a confrontation between her and Popeye), a storm that destroyed sets and a mechanical octopus that didn't work - would ensure that a sequel was never considered. Altman then settled into a pattern of critically acclaimed films with poor or middling box office punctuated by the occasional hit (Come Back to the Five and Dime, Jimmy Dean, Jimmy Dean, Gosford Park, The Player, Prêt-à-Porter).1 point

Rewatch of Rebuild of Evangelion So now in general I think it gets better as it goes on, with 1.11 being a mostly superfluous redo of the first few episodes of the series and 2.22 trying to condense 15 or so episodes into a 2> hour movie. 3.33 feels like the arc Kaworu should have had in the series instead of a single episode and 3.0+1.01 is as satisfying ending to the saga as we're going to see and hits different notes than EoE or Omedetou to feel worthwhile. The main criticisms I had still stand though. On a technical level EoE can't be beaten by the cgi heavy Angels or headless nude bodies in the anti-universe, it just isn't nearly as visually appealing. It's also pretty much required that you be familiar with NGE and EoE to really get, Rebuild doesn't stand on it's own. And lastly....it's clear they flew by the seat of their pants making this. I still enjoyed it though and it'll probably be a part of any future rewatches of Evangelion.1 point

almost every single media in the history of audio reuses voice actors, unless you're a big disney movie. voice actors are expensive. like others have said now and before, i'd rather they spend more of that budget on content. oblivion had like 6 voice actors total ("STOP RIGHT THERE CRIMINAL SCUM") and people still played it to death. (also they probably would've had more voice actors anyway if they hadn't paid to get patrick stewart and sean bean on the cast list, but that's another issues). it's only controversial if you make it controversial. this is a tell on you, not the game. I'm a male and am not such a beta that I feel threatened by a game having more women in its cast. This is a you problem.1 point

Solasta: Palace Of Ice (DLC). Bit easy again, will ramp up difficulty. Still reminds me of oldschool D&D romps. No bull****, just a simple scenario, off ya go. Also maybe this time I'm pulling it through: Baldur's Gate (Enhanced). Never finished the Enhanced so far. The original is of course a classic from ye olde Interplay catalogue.1 point

That's only the case im fights with easy (enough) to hit enemies though. Against tough nuts that approach doesn't work. I find that SC Ascendant sometimes struggles against few but tough enemies (bosses mostly but also others).1 point

Ectopsychic Echo does great dmg. It's really hard to pull off for AI though... I guess? Didn't really try but it's tricky enough when I try to place it myself. Mind Blades is maybe the easiest spell to use for AI. With decent Power Level and some gear that can improve its stats it can be pretty good. One spell that is totally underestimated is Soul Shock imo. I only used it more frequently when I was playing my Psion/Troubadour - because it's so cheap that you can always cast it if you alternate between invocaions and cipher powers - even in the early game. I pretty much overlooked it before but I realized it's pretty good actually. Shock damage is often the least resisted type of elemental damage and Soul Shock scales well with Power Levels. It's also easy to use for AI I guess. Just drop it on the ally with the most enemies around or so. It's obviously not your go-to spell while ascended - you want to put out the most devastating spells then - but its dmg/cost ratio is good.1 point

Well... the minutemen thing kind of makes sense from a role playing/ character pov along with the settlements in terms of you 'refounding the US' amid the Fallout theme of hyper nationalism, especially for someone who has been frozen from pre apocalypse rather than brought up post so might realistically have bought into that hypernationalism. Same for looking for jr too really, you are told you care rather than being made to; but logically you would. I won't defend it any more than that since pretty much only the base idea is fine, the implementation is definitely typical Bethesda.0 points
