  1. I think, I might drop few words about my experience with the Obsidian games, now that this "pandora's box" has been open KOTOR2: Awesome sequel to awesome game. I have mostly enjoyed it and tried to go the most "lighty" way possible. Unfortunately, at some point, I have completely lost myself in Pazzaak, and completely lost track of the story, so I have never finished this game up until the end, and up to this day, I am trying to avoid any spoilers on this board. Unfortunately sometimes with no success NWN2: Again awesome sequel to awesome game. I loved the game even more, than KOTOR2, and thankfully, without crack-like minigame, I was able to finish it . Twice. Once with Vanilla updates only, and once with both Expansion installed to try out some interesting Prestige Class gameplay. Of course, I have also played the expansions. MotB was very interesting and I loved where the story went. Unfortunately, my high level builds have been not optimal, so I struggled a lot with enemy immunities, which was the primary cause, why I have never finished it. SoZ on the other hand, was everything, what I wanted from 3.5E game, and breezed through it up until final dungeon in no time. For me, this is the best DnD game ever released, despite some of the flaws it had. Lastly Mysteries of Westgate, I know it was Ossian, but it would be shame to miss out on golden opportunity to complain again , how due to the stupid DRM decision Atari killed off not only all interest in this expansion, but also all chances to see more NWN2 expansions Alpha Protocol: My oh my. I have never thought, that I would be able to love a modern era RPG, and even in first person. IMHO, this game has shown, how it should be done. Unfortunately, very few studios have taken example out of it, which is sad Fallout NV: Not played it yet, due to being a long time Steam exclusive. Of course I already own it on GOG, but yeah... my backlog Dungeon Siege III: Same as above. With the difference, that I still do not own it, as it is not fully my cup of tea, but I promise, that if my backlog shrinks a little bit, I will definitely play it South Park TSoT: I want to play it, ... a lot. But no deal, until Ubi put's it DRM free on GOG. PoE1: Kickstarted it, played it a little bit, ended up under the Gallows Tree, and then waited until the final patch was released, started it over and finished the game with both expansions "in one breath". It was worth every single penny, I put into the Collector's Edition. The only downside were the backer NPC dialogues, which also stopped my playthrough the first time, as my OCD has taken control over me, and I just had to click on any dialogue Skyforge: Not my cup of tea. Pathfinder Adventures: I loved this one. It was my goto game during my business trips. I spent probably more hours on it, than on PoE1 and NWN2 combined. Unfortunately, it looked like it was not commercially successful project, as the game stopped being developed, despite Paizo releasing new tabletop adventures, which were never added to the iOS game Armored Warfare: Not my cup of tea. Tyranny: Not played it yet, as it took some time, before it was released by Paradox on GOG. I grabbed Gold Edition already, but as with Fallout, my backlog hurts PoE2: "Kickstarted" it, as soon as Paypal option have been opened. Got Collector's Edition and all DLCs as well. But I have decided as before to wait for the final patch to play it, and after that, whenever I pick a new game to play from my backlog, I pick something different, as Pirates are not my cup of tea, which makes it always a little bit lower priority than the other competitors. And yes, I know, it is a brilliant game, that's why I have the Collector's Edition Just be a little bit more patient, kay? The Outer Worlds: I always knew, I would love this game, but I wanted to wait for complete edition before buying it. Shortly, after it was released, before I was able to push the BUY button, I have received by lucky coincidence a Steam gift key, but with my Steam "hatred" I think, it would be just a waste of a useful code to activate it there, so I am humbly waiting for a person, who would be willing to barter it for a GOG key. Grounded and Pentiment: Unfortunately no GOG release yet, so I am playing a game of patience. I do not know if Grounded would be my cup of tea, but seeing some info about Pentiment, I already know, that I would enjoy it. So pretty please, with a cherry on top, dear good Microsoft and Obsidian guys, make GOG release happen. You would make one Slovak guy happy

  2. So that's it for Frieren as far as this season goes. They have more than enough chapters to do a similar run straight away and they pretty much confirmed that it will happen. No reason for it not to considering the popularity.

  4. While I wouldn't have minded some new additional content for BG3 before saying goodbye, ultimately I think it's the right decision for Larian to do their own thing instead of hitching their wagon to the D&D licence. I'm steadfast in my opinion that BG3 is good in spite of being a D&D game, not because of it. No matter what you think of the state of BioWare today, few would argue that they made the wrong decision by abandoning the KoTOR series after one game and going their own way with homegrown IP.

  6. That's not entirely true. In order to change your appearance or that of your main pawn you need an item called the Art of Metamorphosis and you need to visit a barber. While you can buy the Art of Metamorphosis for real money, I don't know why you would when you can also get the item in the game with in-game currency. RC is the currency you use to summon pawns but it's also used in shops, mostly for items related to the pawn system. 500 RC is no problem to get, you won't need to do much grinding, if any. This vendor that sells the Art of Metamorphosis is next to a rift stone in a city. I don't know how many other vendors sell the item.

  7. Seems to be muslims from the information so far. Which doesn't not exclude Ukrainian involvement, but there is no word so far on that.

  8. I think Alien and Beetlejuice sequels look good. Hoping for the best for both of them.

  9. It sounds like an April Fools joke one week early, but they've just released an official statement: "We are looking at adding a feature to the Steam version of the game that will allow players that are already playing to restart the game. "

  10. Dragon's Dogma 2 That was dishonest and downright shameful of Capcom to have the online shop conspicuous in its absence in review copies only to release the game with an online shop. They are not the first to do so, I'm sure they won't be the last, but it needs to be called out when it happens, that's for sure. I'm not a lawyer so I have no idea if there's any sort of legal recourse that can be taken, but from a moral standpoint that's blatant purposeful dishonesty and should be punishable in some way. Anyway, controversy aside, the game is a freakin' blast so far. The combat is great and the pawns have some of the best companion AI I have ever seen. You have 4 commands you can issue them: Go, wait, to me, and help. The pawns have personalities, albeit ones that fall neatly into a small number of categories, and thus they will respond differently to your commands, so the first thing you should do after hiring pawns is to learn how they react. They'll point stuff out to you "look, a treasure chest, we should figure out how to get up there", they'll lead you to locations if they know where it is, it's a really great system. I just started so I obviously can't tell you yet whether the game is purposely made to entice players to buy items with real money. I mean, you don't put in a monetization system without also taking steps to steer the player toward said monetization system. Time will tell how pressured I wind up feeling to spend money in the online shop (I won't), I'll report back once I'm much deeper into the game.

  11. Yeah, I am playing SF6 right now. I don’t find it too offensive as most of purchasable content doesn’t interest me, but there is some dodgy stuff in there. Not nearly as bad as OW2, but also SF6 is a full price game with chunky expansions. They really could allow players to buy skins for in-game currency….

  12. Goblin Stone. A nice, bit more cheery version of Darkest Dungeon. Goblins don't level up, but if they die they give souls which you can use develop the goblin's den and make them all a little bit stronger.

  14. Sexy Beast (2000) A stylish and lean crime drama that packs an incredible punch. It's got both Ian McShane and Ben Kingsley in it and they are just incredible, and Ray Winstone nails the look of a retired criminal whose settled down. There's several dreamlike sequences that go into surreal territory which make for a nice break from the slice of life and crime drama parts of the film, sort of acting as a bridge between them. Sound is also completely on point, and there's more than a few scene transitions that will stick with me for a while.

  16. Tim Burton hasn't made a good movie in nearly 30 years so I'm assuming that Beetlejuice 2 will suck. I'll be quite happy to be proven wrong, but I probably won't.

  17. I wonder if I was the only one thinking, whoa... Lernen sees through Frieren right away and estimates her true power to rival Series... except he completely misses that Serie's power is the fraction she can't hide completely. Makes you wonder how long Serie has been around if her suppressed power is comparable to Frieren at full strength so to speak. That is why Serie immediately wants Fern as her own apprentice, because she is good enough to see through Serie's "disguise" (never mind she keeps telling herself not to take human apprentices, standing there amidst all the flowerfields she has created herself)

  18. It's a visual accessibility option + the Retro filter. The trailers show that the game would look different without them - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RAvdbvX79H4. I suppose, if there was a dedicated cell-shading option, like in Prince of Persia 2008 reboot, I would have preferred it.

  19. Death of a Wish Steelrising The lowest settings which somehow still required 6GB VRAM. The depth of field and some other settings could not be disabled completely. The hat-hiding toggle kept resetting. The weird mix of English with some French words added was rather unpleasant to see. It should have been either consistently English only or French VA with subtitles. The French is not present at all, by the way, while the proper nouns vary in spelling (e.g. a chateau, an estate, or a p(a)lace when referring to the same location). Saints Row The LARP quest line.

  20. Yup, "Final Maneuverer" being in the quest log is what is causing all 3 of these NPCs to disappear. Essentially the NPCs have a flag that deactivate them upon entering Serpent's Crown with quest in your journal (this is done to prevent them being killed during the quest proper). While it's not possible to remove or modify this flag, I've put together a script that will at least reactivate them. You can download the zip attached that contains this script. This just needs to be unzipped and the "Unhide SC NPCs" folder placed into the "override" folder. deadfire_missing_npcs_fix.zip The "override" folder can be found inside the "PillarsOfEternityII_Data" directory located somewhere like: Steam: "C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\" GoG: "C:\Program Files (x86)\GOG Games\Pillars of Eternity II Deadfire\PillarsOfEternityII_Data\" or create it by opening a new Notepad file, and copy & paste the following into it: Save it as: "reactivate_npcs.gamedatabundle" (make sure there is no ".txt" at the end of the file when you save it) and put it inside of a new folder within the "Override" folder. Alternatively you can reactivate these NPCs using console commands. Though it should be noted that this route requires activating cheats, which prevents unlocking achievements! Instructions for using the console are inside the spoiler box: Thanks to everyone who has contributed to this thread!

  21. That game had so much potential. Completely ruined for me by the extremely stupid rest/healing. Devs who's approach to development is "lulz we iz hardcore lulz" deserve a punch on the nose.

  23. To be fair, it seems this is mostly an artifact of Steam Cloud integration messing with the one-save-per-account system (which obviously is in-itself questionable). You're supposed to be easily delete your save and start fresh, from what I understand. The microtransaction being sold is meant to be for editing your existing character. You buy an item, whether for $2 real money or whatever in-game currency it costs to buy it from a regular vendor, and it allows you to modify your character once per purchase. I feel the more egregious thing though is that the game's auteur was yapping on about how fast travel is bad for games, then immediately undermines the semi-valid point he was trying to make by selling consumable tokens that allow fast travel from anywhere. This is exactly the behaviour that one would expect from Capcom, actually. The latest Street Fighter is a huge offender, as are recent Monster Hunter games. Apparently the first Dragon's Dogma also had some cynical nickel-and-diming, but they were mostly removed by the Dark Arisen re-release/expansion which was sort of a "Definitive Edition" of that game. Maybe the smart thing to do would be to wait for Dragon's Dogma 2: Dark Arisen...
