I wish I could move on from the terrible historical injustice inflicted on my ancestors by the Nords\Vikings Keyrock do you know the Vikings enslaved, Colonized and terrorized the Saxons for hundreds of years? And one of the worst things about it is I never knew about this part of my ancestors history until about 7-8 years ago but once I found out about it the trauma has never gone away But @Gorth and I do talk and acknowledge the terrible injustice every couple of months and we close to agreeing to redress, I dont want Gorth and other Nordic members to be burdened by the overwhelming guilt and responsibility of what their ancestors did hundreds of years ago And I said a monthly transfer of about $500 into my personal account would be enough for me to absolve him of the terrible injustice inflicted on my ancestors, life should always be about compromise3 points

Since I love having all these buffs I have a bunch of them in my party. Sasha's Singing Scimitar (action speed) Lethandria's Devotion (saving throws and healing) Baubles of the Fin (damage) Cog of Cohh (damage) Shining Bulwark (armor) Keeper of the Flame (a few to choose from, I use accuracy) All the auras I'm filtering in my own mod, so probably a quite exhaustive list:2 points

This is what I do every damn time. Do you want the spreadsheet with skill point assignments? No? Ok. All five are multiclassed paladins, specifically shieldbearers. Paladins have nice defensive bonuses, and Lay on Hands is awesome, even awesomer as a shieldbearer. Herald 1 Shieldbearer/Troubadour High might and int Chants: Ancient Memory + Mercy and Kindness (Blessed Was Wengridh before that) Sasha's Singing Scimitar + Lethandria's Devotion Brand Enemy, Zealous Endurance Hylea's Bounty Herald 2 Shieldbearer/Troubadour High int Chants: Hearts Grew Bold + Silver Knights' Shields Dual sabres - endgame it's Tarn's Respite and Scordeo's Edge. Keep a shield handy because this character is a popular target. Zealous Focus Hylea's Bounty Crusader 1 Shieldbearer/Tactician (or Unbroken) Tank, but when fighting a lone boss that feels like ignoring her, swaps to Rännig's Wrath and spams Mule Kick (easier to spam as a tactician) Kapana Taga and/or passives negate tactician penalties Mohora Wraps Crusader 2 (Watcher) Shieldbearer/Devoted (quarterstaff) Bringing the dam. Hylea's Bounty Inquisitor Shieldbearer/Psion High int Keeping the outlast game going with Pain Block and Ancestor's Memory. Wand + Large Shield, lategame it's Keeper of the Flame + Shining Bulwark without actually attacking Zealous Charge Shark Soup Playing no rest, feasting on immunity/defensive talents. An important tactic is that the answer to "Who should Lay on Hands?" is usually "whoever can do it the soonest", because death immunity and all that. I could write a whole essay here because I play this setup over and over as I really enjoy outlasting my enemies, so it is very refined for that purpose. It used to be that Herald 1 was the Watcher and that there was no devoted in the party, but, well, some killing power is nice to have...2 points

I'm close to finishing NWN2 MoB, I'm at the part where I have met The Founder and now the full narrative is revealed and I have received the Silver Sword and Im heading for the Wall of the Faithless I mentioned this before but this game is an example of one of the best narratives I have ever experienced, its brilliant and I love how it ties into general Forgotten Realms lore on an epic level. You get to meet Myrkul Games like this remind me of how significant the narrative can be for the overall enjoyment of the game2 points

How sad is it that pretty much the entire 6000 year... The starting point of human civilization is very much in question ever since the discovery of Göbekli Tepe, but that's a topic for a different discussion, I'll just stick with Ancient Sumer as the starting point for the purposes of this conversation. Pretty much the entire 6000 years of human civilization is people taking other peoples' lands for themselves. Sometimes they're "kind" enough to let the previous inhabitants stay, so long as they swear fealty, sometimes the previous population gets the boot, and sometimes they get the axe. At some point it would have been nice to advance beyond that, and there's, of course, lip service to that effect. The reality is nope. Humans ****ing suck.2 points

I am sorry if this was already posted, by I had minimum free time last few weeks to spent it on forums, so I might have missed it circling back to the “popular” steam awards, it seems likely, that they have been hi-jacked by troll voting (especially Starfilled) Even Forbes is writing about it https://www.forbes.com/sites/paultassi/2024/01/03/steam-users-may-be-trolling-starfield-with-most-innovative-gameplay-award/2 points

Greetings! To anyone having difficulties finding the public beta, our apologies for not specifying - the beta branch does not yet support Mac/Linux, this is something we're investigating. Sorry for the confusion, I'll keep you posted if we make progress on this front. Also, for comments on One-Eyed Molina's Gold-Fingered Spike-Flinger and other Deadfire pack soulbound weapon groups, I'll make sure we correct that for the next build of this patch. Thanks for the support on this one. For answers to other questions, see below! @Mraicor One trap per character and/or trap talents. This is a little outside the scope for this patch, but there's definitely a community desire for better trap archetype support and it's not outside of possibility for a future patch. I'll track this and put it to consideration. Thanks for calling attention to it! I'll also make sure each of the other issues you reported are tracked and investigated as well (Korgrak, The Old Watcher, Deadfire items (mentioned above)). Thanks for the support! @Kvellen Output logs should exist at - [Your LocalDrive]\SteamLibrary\steamapps\common\Pillars of Eternity\PillarsOfEternity_Data\output_log @Space-Cadet No PC controller support at this time. Though, if the opportunity presents itself, it's something I'd like to investigate in the future. @DicesMuse This patch is focused on PC at this time. @Macklin I'll have to investigate the missing commentary tracks, if we have access to them we may be able to restore them in the future. Thanks for calling attention to the issue. @beger Thank you for the support. We've tracked the text size discrepancy and will investigate. @Cerebro83 We've tracked the VFX issue with the Cinders of Fate quest, thanks for your support! @VerNOX We would like to investigate all mods that provide fixes to known issues of the game to ideally incorporate them. Though please bear with us as we work to catch them all. In the meantime, you may wish to use mods for any we have yet to address. Also, thank you for reporting the high-resolution sharpness issue, I'll make sure we investigate this as well. @kronozord The public beta is on Steam only, but when the patch goes live Epic & GoG is expected to be included in the update. Also, this patch has no relation to Avowed, we simply love all of our games and the fans that play them and have an opportunity to make some improvements for everyone involved. @sirrus233 I'll put the suggestion for the original title screen in our database, it would be nice to see again. @Mister_Nobody We'll need to investigate this issue further; do you happen to have a save game you could provide to our support team? If so, we might be able to track down the root cause more easily. If not, we'll do our best to reproduce it on our end with the info you provided. Either way, thanks for letting us know! @Silvaren Thanks for reporting the athletics issue, I'll make sure it's tracked and investigated. @Nightwing32 I'll get the lack of mercy option tracked and investigated. Thanks! @davoker I'll make sure we investigate these issues, especially Psychic and Brutal Backlash. Thanks! @Chaospread I mentioned One-Eyed Molina above, but thanks for also reporting the inconsistency with Korgrak as well. I'll make sure this is tracked. Thanks! @warralek We plan to give the patch a healthy runway to make sure there are no big issues from the engine upgrade, during this time we may update the build version on the public beta once or twice before going live. There's no set timeline for how long that will be, but if we don't see many new issues, or we've resolved most of them, we'll wrap it up and investigate other issues. Thanks everyone for your participation in this beta, your feedback, and your dedication to the game. EDIT** - Also for those that are concerned about your favorite mods that may become invalidated on Steam after the patch goes live, we are investigating moving the current live version to a legacy branch when the new patch goes live. This should allow those that wish to continue their existing playthrough with their current mods to do so. And will give some runway for any popular mods to be updated down the line. More on this as we get closer to release.2 points

A new build in the year of our lord 2024? Sure why not. Thought i'd post this build that i have for a merc in my current run, as an illustration of the fun you can have with a blackjacket, and charbuilds don't have to be OMNIPOWERFUL SOLO-CAPABLE BEASTS to be a lot of fun. This is a pure support character with lots of flexibility to slot into your party. Warden - blackjacket, animist (cat form) hearth orlan, stats: 9might, 10con, 15dex, 20perception +1 from bg, 17int, 6resolve skills: alchemy : stealth in a 2:1 ratio, prefer investing in stealth at first abilities: Disciplined Barrage, Winter Wind [get Sunbeam for free] Tanglefoot Fast Runner Fighter Stances (use Adventurer stance), Conjure Lesser Blight* [get The Moon's Light for free] Into the Fray Determination** Tactical Barrage, Spreading Plague [get Returning Storm for free] Snake Reflexes Arms Bearer Out of the Fire, Boiling Spray [get Conjure Blight for free] Quick Switch Unstoppable OR Secret of Rime if you have a source of dex resistance from gear Conquerer Stance, Cleansing Wind [get Plague of Insects for free] Rapid Casting Armored Grace Clear Out, Conjure Greater Blight [get Sunlance for free] Quick Summoning Reaping the Whirlwind Uncanny Luck, Weather the Storm [get Lashing Vine for free] Accurate Empower *: respec out of Conjure Lesser Blight once you have two castings of Conjure Blight (so level 13). Choose Determination or Woodskin, whichever one you still need considering the below point. **: respec out of Determination to Woodskin once you get Lance of the Midwood Stag enchanted with Lord of the Forest Weapon slots: I: The Red Hand, enchanted to push II: Lance of the Midwood Stag early to mid to mid-late game (enchanted with Lord of the Forest), Street Sweeper late game or for special fights, or a Morningstar III: Fire in the Hole main hand, Sungrazer or Keeper of the Flame or Sun and Moon IV: Flail or Club mainhand (depends on party), Lethandria's Devotion offhand shield Suggested gear: Helm of the White Void Swift Hunter's Garb enchanted with dex resistance, or Spider Silk Robe Playstyle: basically you fill all sorts of roles, and you are costantly switching weapon slots as the party needs it. basically impossible to AI script effectively, so you better love micromanaging . i highly recomend that you have an easy-to-remember hotkey for switching weapon sets. - You do some disruption and damage by either using Spreading Plague or Tanglefoot in combination with your various push effects (early on it's a handful of spells). Gives you some a minor amount of survivability assist by disrupting melee enemies, extremely effective if you can pair with a party member who can also hobble or immobilize (frees up your spell casts for more push). Use your Red Hand similarly so when you run out of spells. Clear Out also fills this push job in very well late game. - Use Woodskin and Lance for +2 PL uptime whenever you're casting. Make sure you have uptime on Tactical Barrage as well. With blackjacket it's extremely painless to switch out of Lance if you need to shoot someone or if you need to provide some sustain with Lethandria's Devotion or need to debuff enemies with modals, and switch back to Lance for more spellcasts. - use Out of the Fire to save party members from danger, you can also target yourself to escape enemy engagement. Generally not worth the 2 resources to try it on an enemy until your accuracy is really high vs enemy reflex (missing on this feels real bad, very expensive and you probably needed this to save someone's skin) - switch to your shield weapon slot if you need to stop an enemy from engaging a squishier party member. after you lock an enemy down you can generally switch away and they'll stay on you, i like switching to the Red Hand (when the enemy isn't about to make an attack) so I can then push them repeatedly. - The Moon's Light and Cleansing Wind are good heal spells. Make sure you have +PL (tactical barrage, probably lance). Cleansing Wind is a little ornery around altitude changes and obstacles, so be warned. Supplement by switching to your shield slot if you need more sustain. - Higher level, switch to your blunderbuss weapon slot to do Clear Out, yet another push source (make sure blunderbuss modal is on). Sometimes you'll just wreck enemies if enemy density is high enough. Easy to spam if needed. Switch away to a different eapon slot once enemy density is low. I pair with either Sungrazer or Keeper of the Falme for extra aoe impact, but an alternate is Sun and Moon for bonus PL when you get rid of Lance (see below). - Late game, I give the Lance to another caster (they can still get PL from Woodskin) and I switch to Street Sweeper because of increasing need to clear enemy buffs. Also provides nice deflection bonus you can switch in and out of easily (again, Blackjacket is fun here). Depending on party need, you can instead use a morningstar here for switching into fortitude debuffs. - With your shield prefer a flail or club depending on party need. My party makes great use of a flail because i have a cipher who loves beams, so I use a flail. - conjure blight is a bit underrated (community patch makes them more generally usable if you're up for modding). early game the lesser and normal blights are a good way to waste enemy resources and time (toss the blights next to casters or rogue archers to soak up their spells or blinding/finishing blow attacks) and can also help run interference for squishy foes. greater blight later game actually comes with some handy abilities (most of the time) - e.g. sand blights can blind, ice blights can debuff enemy action speed by -40% in a huge part-friendly area, storm blights can swift your entire party while sickening enemies. greater blights are useful enough that even when you get lashing vine, i don't recommend respeccing out of greater blights. - free druid spells work great when other stuff doesn't work, and is why i pick an animist despite lack of other bonuses. against sickness-immune, replace spreading plague w/ returning storm casts. if you don't need the healing, you can drop a plague of insects. if you already have a summon up, drop some sunlances. against frost/push-immunes or dense enemy packs drop a sunbeam. - early game cat form is a nice way to assist with dps. mid-late game i just use cat form for when i need the action speed boost, your normal weapon capability will be a lot stronger for when you need it (most of the time). - i choose stealth as an early skill because stayin stealthed while you buff up and summon blights and then open with a spell cast works real well. significant diminishing returns, hence why i don't go all the way with stealth (and you can't be stealthed for scripted or other fights). - i choose alchemy because this character doesn't need more demands on action economy and with alchemy you can shift some of the action economy needs to outside of combat. Coral drugs for bonus action speed, or Taru Taru Chew for some bonus action speed (+3 dex) but also better healing/offense (+3 might). Early on I use some other potions at the start of a fight (being stealthed makes it easier to do this), later on once alchemy score gets higher and you have conqueror stance i instead supplement drug use with poison. Poison is easier to use when you get two shots/reload from Red Hand, have +20 acc to the weapon attack from arquebus, Conqueror Stance gives you +10 acc to the poison, and Tactical Barrage gives you +1 PL to poison (ordinarily very hard to scale up). Spider Silk Robe suggested as a possible gear choice as a late game way to boost poisons. I always stock a poison that targets will and another that targets fortitude and pay attention to the defenses of whatever target i'm attacking, which is generally either a caster that no one else can effectively dps down yet, or a really bullet-spongey guy in front that will actually be around long enough to suffer the effects of poison or needs to be hit with a powerful poison effect (like stone poison, or storm toxin). having a morningstar or a club can help with poison use, just make sure you don't apply the poison to your morningstar or club. interestingly, i used to stock heal potions on this character, but it turned out i never used them. even with the blackjacket's weaker fighter recovery, by not being a melee tank or not even a full-time off tank (just an occasional one), that drip of healing tends to be wildly sufficient for most purposes, and you can always switch to your shield slot for more defense and sustain. (even without weapon and shield style, lethandria's devotion being a medium shield gives you quite a bit of resilience against especially weapon-based enemies) anyway, this build isn't going to go solo any fights, but has turned out to be a real effective glue for a party. blackjackets are an extremely fun class to try to squeeze into a party or multiclass. having no cost to switch weapon sets enables a lot of neat tricks (not mentioned here: an incredible cheese opportunity with lethandria's devotion, which i'm deliberately not using)1 point

I finally got into Midnight Suns, and it's no surprise that I love it. The combat is a blast. Firaxis continues to nail the turn based combat stuff. I'm enjoying the storyline of The Hunter and his mommy issues. I'm also glad to see that the Marvel heroes are pretty different than their MCU counterparts. Plenty of parallels, but the Avengers are a lot more down to earth in the game. That being said, Blade and the non-Avengers are still the standouts for me. The base exploration and friendship building stuff is decent. It feels a lot more pulp comic bookish than movie based, so that is good. I still think they could have done almost the same game without Marvel and it would have been as good. I'd argue that Xcom Chimera Squad was just as good at creating memorable teammates and unique combat, but I'm sure they felt they could reach a wider audience with the Marvel IP. I don't really agree and it seems like the sales numbers were underwhelming, so hopefully they realize they can stick with their own IP's going forward.1 point

I would overall agree. I think Uncharted does story and characters much better than TR reboots, but TR sequels did land on a rather satisfying balance between cinematics and gameplay. Stealth, puzzles, combat and climbing is so, so much better and more robust.1 point

There's Gouging Strike, Brand Enemy and True Love's Kiss (passive of the unique Dagger "Lover's Embrace"). I usually combine all three when doing a solo Assassin run (whatever Paladin/Assassin). One could say that Soft Winds of Death and Dragn Thrashed (chants) also fall under that category since they won't stop until combat ends (or the chanter goes down). There's also the Blackened Plate which can be enchanted with an aura that does automatic DoT (auto-hit) in an area (that's smaller than a chant's AoE). THis also only stops when the wearer goes down or the combat ends. Then there are some DoTs that don't last forever - but a pretty long time, namely Battle Axes' Bleeding Cuts (modal) and Saru Sichr's (Morning Star) Poison Dipped (poison DoT). I guess there are some more that last rel. long that I forgot. Yeah, that's the strong suit of the Psion. If you build him with small shield, weapon & shield style and generelly with good defenses the "stop generating focus on getting damaged" isn't too bad. If you use summons and/or mind control there's ususally more attractive targets for the enemies.1 point

They're infamous for approaching every single streamer and YouTuber, or influencer of any kind, with sponsorship deals and flooding the internet with ads, hence why I jokingly made my post like I was shilling for them. They're effectively the newer version of those banner ads you used to see on every single website ever that had a sexy lady with her milkers (when autocensor won't let me post a word I will use the most comical euphemism I know instead) out and text that read "Come Play My Lord".1 point

IronSource is an in-game advertising platform that Unity acquired for 4.4 billion dollars. Unity already laid off 1,300 employees before this latest lay off. Unity lost the trust of every development studio in the business last year after their now ex-CEO announced that they were retroactively changing their software licensing agreement from one of the most lenient to bat**** insane. They also offered to exempt certain studios from this if they implemented the new IronSource ad platform. Unity is being run into the ground.1 point

The current Polish national anthem is Jeszcze Polska Nie Zginęła, which translates to Poland Has Not Yet Perished or Poland Is Not Yet Lost. Similar to English, in Polish the word for lost can mean "I lost my car keys, where are they?" or it can mean "we lost grandpa, the funeral is next week". Originally the lyric was Jeszcze Polska Nie Umarła or Poland Has Not Yet Died and the song was known as Pieśń Legionów Polskich we Włoszech or Song of the Polish Legions in Italy, this was long before it was the anthem and it had some different lyrics. If the title doesn't give it away, it's a song about perseverance, about surviving as a people. It basically says that no matter what we'll still be Poles and we will rebuild Poland, you can't snuff us out. Interestingly, there used to be another refrain that mentioned Germans and Russians, but it's gone from the modern version. The Swedes still get a mention, as occupiers, and Bonaparte gets mentioned by name since this was a song originally sung by Polish legions under Napoleon serving in Italy, hence the original title.1 point

Honestly, I think you're spot on about developers neglecting traversal. So many open-world games feel like the world is just an obstacle course between quests, instead of a place you actually want to explore. Fast travel becomes the default because the journey itself is a bore.1 point

Yeah - it's true that PER isn't that important in the long run. After all is done it might turn out to have been the least important attribute (out of the trio DEX, MIG and PER) when it comes to dealing damage. But I still recommend to put points into PER - especially for beginners who want to play offensive characters - because the first impression of your character is very important to how you perceive your char's performance, if you enjoy it or not. In the early game the options to raise your accuracy - and thus to improve your odds of delivering a hit (let alone a crit) - are very limited. At the same time the enemies have relatively high defenses (and also sometimes rel. thick armor compared to your damage per hit). It's one reason why the early game feels so tough for low ACC starters such as Barbs and also a reason why using a single one handed weapon is effective in the early game: it gives you +12 accuracy. If you miss a lot it's superannoyig of course - but also grazes' damage malus have a bigger negative impact on your overall damage than later in the game (where the additive damage malus of grazing gets countered by a variety of damage bonuses) so you barely scratch enemies with somewhat decent armor if you only graze them. This becomes very apparent in Raedric's Castle (lots of armored foes with good defenses). So especially in the early game you can feel a big difference between a character who has like ~10 ACC or even more over the others (be it from single one handed weapon and/or lots of PER and/or flanking the enemies before actually striking). So, basically it's a recommendation that makes it more likely that you won't get frustrated by your (otherwise fine) char's weapon performance in the early game - which will increase the odds that you stick with it and don't drop it prematurely. This is also the main reason why I recommend to take Inspiring Radiance asap with a fellow Priest. It's a short-lived +10ACC bonus - but it stacks with everything (good for the later game) and makes the early game a lot easier. If you know what you are doing you can totally drop PER and be fine. Later in the game there's so many options to compensate for lower PER and a few additional points of accuracy will only get you decreasing returns. But for somebody who's still "stumbling" through the mechanics a bit I'd say it's an easy way to make your har more enjoyable. In that regard I also value DEX over MIG a lot - it's more frustrating to play a very sluggish char than it is to play one who hits a bit less harder imo. But all in all, as was said: attributes matter, but they don't matter too much.1 point

There have been issues with stacking non-stackable buffs when saving/loading a savegame (so some status of the corr. game object is def. altered) and also with items/stolen spells persisting when they shouldn't if you switch the underlying grimoire with the corr. spell. Maybe your persisting weapon effects/abilities have something to do with the quirks that cause those "problems", too.1 point

I'd also like to mention an exploit that can be easily abused. We're talking about the "Chanter" class; the issue here isn't whether to exploit it or not, it's about triggering it unintentionally, often due to a quick change in skill usage. This video demonstrates how it works: I've set the time to the exact moment the exploit is used (a few seconds after it begins). This exploit can be used with various Chanter abilities, such as: "White Worms Writhed in the Bellies of the Dead" or "Thrice Was She Wronged, and Thrice Justly Avenged" Specifically, it seems the exploit is triggered with those Chanter summons. Using either of these summons like that can be deadly. One might think to avoid using the exploit if you don't want to, but, as mentioned earlier, this exploit is often unintentionally triggered. Thanks! PS: It would be possible to decrease a little the time it takes to drink a potion? a little more time to drink them and anyone would think that you are eating in a restaurant, taking your time and not rushing1 point

Technically Sweden and Russia share maritime border in international waters, meaning that Russian troops can go from Kaliningrad to Sweden without crossing any Nato nation's land, waters or airspace. Also there is international waters from Saint Petersburg to Sweden and also from Atlantic ocean to western side of southern Sweden.1 point

As a Pole, I can tell you Sweden whooped up on my motherland several times too. Looooooong before my lifetime, though, so I harbour no ill feelings. In fact, I harbour no ill feeling for the common folk of any country, Russia included. The ruling elite, on the other hand, that's a different story. Granted, I'm not exactly a fan of the ruling elite in Murica either (on the off chance I haven't previously made that perfectly clear), so there's that.1 point

Hi @BarryKent, welcome! Boeroer is a guru of PoE 1 and 2, so all that he say is like a "bible" and you can trust all that there's in this and other posts of his. I would like to add humbly a side note on attributes point partition: unless you are making I build focused on crits, almost every build is viable with 10 PER, because the game is calibrated about this value and also because accuracy can be raised very high with skill, talents, spells, equipment and so on. I made a run on PotD solo with a Orlan with 5 (3 base + 2 racial) PER value: Thus, if you have doubt to which attribute save points, you can go with 10/12 PER and put your points in other useful stats (DEX INT and MIGHT over the others). CON and RES can be keep at 8/10 unless for particularly build OR to get more dialogue OR more peaceful quest resolution (RES above all); MAX/MIN players often tend to dump them also to 3, but for the first runs I discourage this But as Boeroer said (and especially in a party), you can go almost with any point distribution and in any case, you could go to an inn and respec your character changing the attributes points if you think you was wrong or if you wanna experiment other distributions Strategy and equipment play a more important role than stats in this game. Have fun!1 point

Uncharted was obviously inspired by OG Tomb Raider but streamlined a lot of stuff. Then, NuLara Tomb Raider wound up aping Uncharted and ultimately doing it better in Rise and Shadow. Now Uncharted feels so dated because SotTR did it so much better. The circle is now complete.1 point
