Repairs made, completely broken parts remade, a few alterations, and thus it called for a layout to check nothing had been forgotten and everything was there.... A few small touch-ups left to do, some spray it all with clear laquer as added protection, then I have to start figuring out how to strap it all to comfortably wear with the lessons of the previous attempt...6 points

I called Gail last night. We spoke on the phone for three hours! Haven't done that in a hell of a long time. Conversation with her is effortless. Just now she texted me good morning. I'd say those are pretty good signs.5 points

Obligatory meme: This thread is a regular TUMS FESTIVAL, huh? Minor update, it seems like my father has throat pain and a mild cold now too. Visited him shortly before almost dying this week, so... perhaps the heartburn wasn't the cause for all of the issues, just the, well, catalyst. Could probably have fought this off without symptoms otherwise. Ah, well... bad timing, mr. stomach. Maybe it's a good thing you don't like lasange. Not sure if there's a decent way to make them gluten free. Thems noodles is like, uhm, the main igredient. Anyway, I'm back, I think. So far the only thing that's left is a mild cough every now and then, and that's me hacking up pretty disgusting gooey stuff that's covering the healing wounds. So yay, more proof of burns. On a much more brighter note, the combination of weapons grade painkillers, anti-inflammatory medication and a whole bunch of pseudo/antihistamines meant that I slept like a log for three days, and I feel rested. I guess that's what regular people with regular sleeping patterns feel like. Now if I could get there without semi-killing myself or my kidneys in the process, that would be something, huh? Well... do you think I could watch Nadia until episode 23 and then pretend the rest never happened? Not really, right?3 points

We talked about getting together again last night. Maybe next week. Have to work out the details. I’m up for another car ride.2 points

In the winter months I don’t have an electric bill. If I had a regular power company I would actually be selling power to them. Unfortunately it’s a co-op so no check for me. The only thing that sucks is dealing with the batteries. But it really depends on how far you want to go down the rabbit hole. I went pretty deep.2 points

Have a cover, then! But KP surely you must see that this was for the good of the US ! Their's nothing wrong with that. Just imagine being abducted by unmarked vans like in China ! Those came off a long time ago for Captain Fascist here.2 points

Silly little cartoon, but made me really consider the idea that solar power is really the only thing that can actually grant you power autonomy on a long-term basis. Everything else, 99.99% of people are dependent on corporations' (or governments') infrastructure and logistical capabilities and having those entities keeping that entire system running. While solar power may still require acquiring and getting the actual tech up and running, it's really the only thing your average home-owning person can do to make themselves less dependent on that system. Where it makes sense and where local governments don't try to restrict it, of course. Couldn't help but think back to @Guard Dog and his previously mentioned use of solar power, and it was like, yeah, okay, I kind of get it now.2 points

this article shows why science and politics should be as far away from each other as wolves and sheep. an AI is not, yet, a self aware entity capable of critical thinking and comprehension on an abstract level which (along with millennia of psychological evolution related to survival) would be the prerequisite for the formation of biases, it simply performs a statistical analysis on key words and returns results based on said statistics. it has no biases other than what's already present in the man made data pool2 points

So when there is a literal "notice to burn" on a library's books, they were rescued by the fictional alias of a fictional character played by Bruce Campbell on "Burn Notice"... Is that someone working a little bit of meta into it?2 points

I like Enduring Dance for ranged monks or once you get Instruments of Pain (which turns you into a ranged melee Monk sort of). For a "normal" melee Monk it's not that effective since you'll lose the effect every few hits, Mortification is limited and it costs 2 points.1 point

Dual wielding idea is great! It would mean higher burst damage but much faster stamina drain1 point

For me, Dance of Death is useful only if you are a ranged Helwalker.1 point

Thanks for information. I enjoy inXile games, I had a great time with Bards Tale 4 so any new games from them will be on my radar1 point

Maybe give it a try if you find it for a couple of bucks? It is pretty short so it won't cost you much playtime. inXile is currently confirmed to be actively working on two AAA RPGs using the UE5 engine. One is confirmed to be a new IP steampunk game, possibly along the lines of Arcanum. About the second nothing is known. So I am hoping the second game is something using the Numenera setting, though probably not a direct sequel to T:ToN. Perhaps something along the same lines as Obsidian's Avowed: a game using the same world as T:ToN but a completely new IP with new gameplay.1 point

I liked the game, and am hoping them will make a second one because I felt everything that was lacking in the first game was clearly due to a budget that was way too small relative to the game's vision and ambition, and also obviously then a development timeline that was also too short. Yeah the combat sucked (TB, so that may be personal), but you could evade the combat through dialog choices in most cases (inlcuding the final endgame encounter). The gameplay was very simplistic, though it had the potential to be something good. It felt like someone took a good idea and then chopped off like 70% of it because of cost. A ton of reading, which I liked but many others did not. The parts I personally liked a lot were the story, characters, and the world. And since those things are what matter most to me, that's why I ended up okay with the game, and even regretted that it was too short.1 point

Sometimes the industry big boys like LM and Northrop do company-funded in-house projects as demonstrators for the military. LM has been working on a project that has often been colloquially referred to as "SR-72" so may be this something like that (given ACC boss's surprise).1 point

Nice way to weasle out of it. Intentional, lol. Yeah, so CISCO doesn't actively implant backdoors into their products, they just send them over to the NSA to do that for them before they're shipped out... Oh, wait, sorry, the NSA "intercepts" CISCO shipments and does that. So it's not intentional. Either way, if you're not from the US, you can buy real US backdoors or alleged Chinese back doors that most likely exist anyway. Where you you want your data to go today? edit: Never mind, you're really serious, aren't you?1 point

reloaded a late chap 3 save to see if crusade were fixed for us. we did get a sudden upgrade to logistics score, and a couple folks showed up in the citadel to offer us new decree objectives as if they had been bottlenecked and prevented from doing so. unfortunate, still no option to improve a fort to bastion and we cannot upgrade multiple relics in spite o' having no other diplomacy decrees being addressed and regardless o' fulfilling all prereqs. on the maybe positive side, in spite o' our curious angel mythic path quirk bug wherein a quest completed but were marked as us having failed to save a particular personage, she is present in the abyss and behaving as expected in chapter four, so am just gonna forge ahead and hope a few crusade bugs get fixed before we return to drezen. HA! Good Fun!1 point

BG1 definitely felt sparse and empty and I ranked it second to last of the IE games. @Gromnir Deadfire showed that all the people who tried PoE were not interested in the sequel. Kingmaker had an atrocious release, where it was almost unplayable, so it makes sense that the sales came in when the game was in a more playable state. As I said WoR will be a good indicator of the popularity of Owlcats game. As for the whole spiritual successor/homage deal you seem to be stuck on, they did in fact name drop all the IE games and did nothing during the kickstarter to mange expectations, they only started after the funding was finished with the kickstarter updates. Had no luck in finding it, but there was a video in a limo where Feargus pitches the game to publishers and gets laughed at, it was essentially the announcement of the PoE kickstarter, I'm pretty sure they talked about the IE games in there.1 point
