Amentep Posted December 7, 2015 Posted December 7, 2015 (edited) I level ground all of them to level 99 fighting T-Rexes in the forest because I enjoyed it at the time. I...had a lot of free time on my hands... But realistically I liked everyone being kind of different and having weird abilities. Later FFs didn't seem to really have that unless they used the Job System. Edited December 7, 2015 by Amentep I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? Lexx Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 And yet people will buy it. Probably each part at fullprice. Good way to squeeze more monis out of it. "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."
Vaeliorin Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Yep...seems like just a way to squeeze the FF7 fans more. If I ever buy it, it will be a complete collection at a discount (and on PC, seeing as I haven't owned a console since the PS2.)
Agiel Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 (edited) For those who don't have it yet, you can try Dawn of War II: Retribution for free on Steam this week. And if you want to give the skirmish (or the adversarial multiplayer, if you're daring) a try, make sure to pick up the Elite mod, which offers balance changes and a considerably expanded unit roster. All these new events for the game as of late gives me hope that Relic has something exciting to announce for the series soon. If there's a new Dawn of War game coming out, I just hope you can play as someone other than boring 'ol Space Marines again in the campaign. Lexx Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Well, I would be happy already if they'd scap the ugly skirmish-fight campaign system they started to use after winter assault. Also I want imperials and not lame space Marines. 1 "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."

That's why DoW2: Retribution was my favorite in the series. You could play as any faction through the campaign, so, obviously, I played as Orks, because Orks are awesome and hilarious. And, as always, the answer to any problem is always more dakka. 1 RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks
Fenixp Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 So um... System Shock 3 possibly? That's why DoW2: Retribution was my favorite in the series. You could play as any faction through the campaign, so, obviously, I played as Orks, because Orks are awesome and hilarious. And, as always, the answer to any problem is always more dakka.Me and my friend have finished the Orc campaign in co-op. The entire screen just kept exploding. Over. And over. It was amazing. Still, the overall quality of campaigns in the previous games was a lot better than in Retribution, which is a shame. Well it's good if you want to play the previous games, but... You know.
Lexx Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 DoW1 and first add on don't have widescreen support. :/ They look really ugly nowadays. Dunno if someone ever made a patch for that. "only when you no-life you can exist forever, because what does not live cannot die."
Fenixp Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 You can make them widescreen. They're ugly, yeah. Still, I wasn't referring to DoW1 since it has pretty bad campaign. Well, okay, Winter Assault is great. And Dark Crusade is okay. Shame there was never any other expansion released for DoW1, right? Right!? Anyway, I was talking about the campaign of DoW2 and Chaos Rising, which were both great. Repetitive, sure. But great.
Darkpriest Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Yeah shame that they also not released any expansion with flying units riight?
Serrano Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I think flying units in Soulstorm were worth it just to see the grot-rockets from the ork fighta-bomber. They're 40k's equivillent of goblin doom divers.
Keyrock Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Yeah, the Retribution campaign was not as good as the base DoW2 campaign or Chaos Rising, but those were tailor made for Space Marines, even a specific chapter of Space Marines, while the Retribution campaign had to be vague and general enough to accommodate Orks, Tyrranids, Eldar, etc. For me, personally, the awesomeness of the Orks more than made up for the campaign being lackluster. They were so hilarious. RFK Jr 2024 "Any organization created out of fear must create fear to survive." - Bill Hicks
Nonek Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 I personally thought that the Eldar campaign was the best one in Retribution, and the returning Eldar from all of the other DoW2 games added alot of spice to their angle. However in terms of pure enjoyment I have to agree, playing the Boyz under Kaptain Bludflag was hard to beat. Personally in an ideal DoW 3 i'd want something different from the usual demonic ascension plot, a Genestealer infestation sparking a rebellion perhaps, or something similarly a lot more nuanced. I'd also want a more defined protagonist and company, with a mix of the Guard handling large scale (DoW1) operations, Deathwatch or similar handling commando duties on special (DoW2) operations, and an Inquisitor commanding operations. His psychic talents should also be explored and expanded upon, especially when it comes to matching himself against the will of a devious hidden Patriarch. Of course this would never happen. 2 Quite an experience to live in misery isn't it? That's what it is to be married with children.I've seen things you people can't even imagine. Pearly Kings glittering on the Elephant and Castle, Morris Men dancing 'til the last light of midsummer. I watched Druid fires burning in the ruins of Stonehenge, and Yorkshiremen gurning for prizes. All these things will be lost in time, like alopecia on a skinhead. Time for tiffin. Tea for the teapot!

Darkpriest Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 Actually the one race i missed gameplay wise in DoW2 were the Tau. 1

Darkpriest Posted December 8, 2015 Posted December 8, 2015 It is entirely possible that they will try to release it around xmas. It's been in development for some time already. I think it is safe to assume that it's been by now more in the production than TW3, so i can see that happening.
Agiel Posted December 9, 2015 Posted December 9, 2015 Guilty Gear Xrd coming to Steam tomorrow. Unfortunately we PC players will have gotten the shaft again by fighting game developers and will have to settle for a release behind the PS4 version and will not be able to play as Jam or Dizzy.
