PIP-Clownboy Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 (edited) Muscle gishish wizard. Probably godlike depending on bonuses. Edited December 31, 2013 by PIP-Clownboy
Reever Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 I usually play as a mage first. That means, I'll either go with the wizard or will take the cipher, because that class is quite interesting. As for the class, that remains to be seen. A Godlike would be very interesting, I think.

Lephys Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 As always a Wizard... *Holds fist out for bump*... Solidarity. u_u Also... I want to use a scythe. Yeah, not even a war scythe. Just a regular harvesting scythe, no matter how impractical. I'm going for intimidation. Besides... look at some of the Chinese/Japanese weapons created over the years. I think if someone really trained to master those, I can believe someone might feasibly train with a standard scythe. Also... I like Ice Magic. And lightning. Storm magic, I suppose? 1 Should we not start with some Ipelagos, or at least some Greater Ipelagos, before tackling a named Arch Ipelago? 6_u
Lysen Posted December 31, 2013 Posted December 31, 2013 A sexy rogue armed with pistols and daggers. And I will name her Katarina.

Yeah if there is a scythe....sigh it could be a lvl 1 harvesting one and that would be my weapon of choice thruout the whole game. I woukd have to run nothing but casters then.... Never under estimate the power of the harvesting scythe! 1
Silent Winter Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 (unless there is a race restriction on certain classes). There isn't but does some or all classes have different "builds"? they do _________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ *Casts Nature's Terror* , *Casts Firebug* , *Casts Rot-Skulls* , *Casts Garden of Life* *Spirit-shifts to cat form*
JFSOCC Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 I tend to play variations of one character only. Depending on what godlike traits are available I may or may not be a godlike character, but I most certainly will play a female human rogue who specializes in social skills and intelligence, dagger mastery, dual wielding, and debuffing. Remember: Argue the point, not the person. Remain polite and constructive. Friendly forums have friendly debate. There's no shame in being wrong. If you don't have something to add, don't post for the sake of it. And don't be afraid to post thoughts you are uncertain about, that's what discussion is for.---Pet threads, everyone has them. I love imagining Gods, Monsters, Factions and Weapons.
okkoko Posted January 1, 2014 Posted January 1, 2014 well umm i might steal some and then steal some more and well i like to do good things too and well just be provoking npc
JayDGee Posted January 2, 2014 Posted January 2, 2014 First time I play any RPG I almost always play a tank. In which I try to play as honestly as possible choosing actions with out thinking about end game. Second play usually a rogue. A bastard of a rogue at that who will wilfully choose the worst of all possibilities. Salting the earth where ever he walks. As for races that will be a last minute decision. None of this is really happening. There is a man. With a typewriter. This is all part of his crazy imagination.
Stormbold Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Barbarian, Barbarian, Barbarian, Barbarian, Barbarian, Barbarian. 1
Monte Carlo Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Second play usually a rogue. A bastard of a rogue at that who will wilfully choose the worst of all possibilities. Salting the earth where ever he walks. I agree, but seeing as that sounds a little too much like my r/l day-job I have to play something different for a break. 2
Quillon Posted January 18, 2014 Posted January 18, 2014 Since I detest magic, I won't be playing with any -heavily- magic/soul related classes on any of my playthroughs. I favored rogue class in this type of rpgs before cos of wide range of additional dialogue options and if this is the case in PoE also, I'll stick with rogue but if not; any physical hitting class will do it for me. I'll be male-human in the first playthrough who behaves like 'chaotic-evil' then a pure 'lawful-good' male-human in the second. And then I'll play around with races and how I behave but not with gender; I can't immerse with playing a female. I'll consider a god-like character but I don't know how magic-heavy the god-like versions will be(both gameplay and appearance-wise) and what are the pros/cons for being one.
BLnoT Posted January 19, 2014 Posted January 19, 2014 I am normally always a ranger/rogue but i think i'll do things differently of PoE. I am leaning towards a wizard, possibly Godlike or Orlan. 2nd playthrough will be determined by how i felt on the first run. Build a man a fire, and he will be warm for a day... Set a man on fire and he will be warm the rest of his life...
Sairven Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 First playthrough I do of any RPG is with a magician/wizard/whatever-the-equivelent-term-is-for-that game. So I'll be doing that. Generally I do it as True Neutral so I can justify not helping people if I want (just like powerful wizards in fantasy novels). Tee hee.
Kjaamor Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 (edited) Standard Kjaamor in such games tends to be a dual-wielding dps, specialising in sustained damage. Probably looking at Barbarian for that. Personality wise, it's very standard Neutral Good. Don't mind breaking the law to help people, but generally look to improve laws so they help people better. Realistically, I'm not going to assign too much of a personality to my character at this stage for the simple reason that they're going to be railroaded into certain dialogue options no matter how good Obsidian are. The tale will tell the character, really. EDIT: Race is invariably Elf/Half-elf/Human in that order ruling out races that significantly comprimise the efficiency of the class. Edited January 20, 2014 by Kjaamor Other kickstarter projects to which I have no affiliation but you may be interested: Serpent in the Staglands: A rtwp gothic isometric crpg in the style of Darklands The Mandate: Strategy rpg as a starship commander with focus on crew management
Ailantan Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Godlike mage and she will be glorious bastard. I usually go with chaotic good, but we will see. Almost all of my playtrought are with magic wielding protagonist. I'm also tempted with cypher class.
Jobby Posted January 20, 2014 Posted January 20, 2014 Good or Neutral Godlike, not decided any further than that tbh, I like to spend a lotta time on the character creation screen.
SophosTheWise Posted January 21, 2014 Posted January 21, 2014 Maybe, through the adventurer's hall, I'll play an all-black Vailian ultra-fabulous musketeer party
Talahar Posted January 24, 2014 Posted January 24, 2014 I like to play sarcastic good rangers, mostly human, but I might do something different for Pillars... To be quite honest I haven't really thought about it yet...
Gurkog Posted January 28, 2014 Posted January 28, 2014 Probably a Barbarian or Fighter any race other than dirty Elf Grandiose statements, cryptic warnings, blind fanboyisim and an opinion that leaves no room for argument and will never be dissuaded. Welcome to the forums, you'll go far in this place my boy, you'll go far!
