What you did today

Tried to reload ammo only to find out that the primer pockets of the current batch of brass is too tight, even when seating soft primers they get squished or chipped and thats very dangerous. There is a solution to that problem but I don't like it - open up the primer pockets with a drill, but thats a LOT of work.

Mr. Grey eats enough baby food to keep from losing more weight - if I offer it 8 times a day. Still not enough tho. I think I'm going to have the vet take a lone head/dental type x-ray soon. Didn't do that yet. Could be a tiny jaw tumor that's hard to spot maybe. No face swelling (like one of my past cats) but stuff like that isn't always obvious.

Off to sweep the store shelf clean of meat baby food.

I know what you're going through.- Its a pain in the behind to make sick cats eat, mine has diabetes and is 20 years old, his teeth are pretty bad. He only eats the most expensive food available and only tiny bits of it so I can always throw away the rest.

Oh well.....

What I did today: I developed a load that cracks the 1000 meter per second velocity mark. Cool.

Does your memory suddenly get worse approaching 30, generally? I'm finding I can't for the life of me remember trivial stuff that happens anymore, after only a few days it just disappears.

No, it means that when you're 30 you finally get your priorities straight and don't sweat the small stuff. (Unfortunately most of those priorities are bills)

I'd say the answer to that question is kind of like the answer to "who's the sucker in this poker game?"*

Dude, I'm already there and I'm 5 years shy of being 30. My theory is that life has become so fast and frantic the brain only concentrates on the most important stuff to prevent overload, everything else never happened and has never existed.

I always attributed it to drinking myself.

My memory always sucked and I've found I really only remember stuff I think about. It's possible you're just moving to a different schema. How you interact with trivial stuff may be changing.

Memory: the older you get, the more you can remember things you did 15+ years ago like it was yesterday, but can't remember what you did last night. Half the time I barely know what day of the week it is anymore. I think we just tend to focus less and less on remembering small details.

Unless it's the statistical probabilities of getting that uber weapon you want to drop in a game, of course. Braincell priorities, y'know.

I'm on leave today and I'm flying to the coast for my the Dad's 70 th birthday. I'm excited as I'll get to see all my brothers and sisters. We are a wide age difference from my sister who is 23 to my oldest brother who is 41. Anyway I'm saying a speech which I've  been preparing. I've made the speech sentimental and humorous so  it should go well :)

Who'd have thought that one such as I would be reading roman pornography.

I would.

Make sure you don't confuse your genitives, datives, and ablatives. I imagine that in porn these would be particularly important.

Pornography is all about the locative-ablative, locative-ablative, innit?

I cannot - yet I must. How do you calculate that? At what point on the graph do "must" and "cannot" meet? Yet I must - but I cannot! ~ Ro-Man

I went and got a massage before my back to school night, which was pretty decent.  Now I'm just waiting for parents to come in so I can ramble for 10 minutes.  It's pretty fun, actually.

Heh, my parents will never let me forget a couple of the comments they got that first parent-teacher's evening after I started secondary school.

Buying a laptop for my sister for her birthday. Also debating just getting some RAM and maybe an SSD for my machine or maybe a full upgrade. 2 year old machine, so that's a bit early.

Since winter is around the corner, and since winter depression is kind of a big deal for me, I've been trying to get back into a decent rhythm, one part of that is taking methylphenidate again...

Rebound is a bitch, but I'll take a daily dip over a depression any day.

Still, looking at a whole bunch of stuff you could do (read, play games, go outside) and not really being able to care/decide.

Yeah, rebound is a bitch.

Remember: Argue the point, not the person. Remain polite and constructive. Friendly forums have friendly debate. There's no shame in being wrong. If you don't have something to add, don't post for the sake of it. And don't be afraid to post thoughts you are uncertain about, that's what discussion is for.

I'm not sure if this is helpful, or merely polishing your descent into madness, but... what if you had some sort of clockwork monkey which got enthusiastic about things for you. And you just do what the monkey says.

Was on the shooting range and had a lot of fun, rambled with friends about reloading techniques and tricks for an hour, shot tiny groups with my reloads, had a beer, enjoyed the aromatic smell of burned powder. ....

A day at the range is always a good day.

I gazed at the dead, and for one dark moment I saw a banquet.

Dunno what's going on but the amount of girls being flirty with me is exponentially increasing...I'm going to check in the mirror and make sure I didn't accidentally become better looking

I concur. It's well established that if a plain looking chap has women flirting with him, then they intend to lure him into a cupboard, bop him on the head and steal his keys/uniform.

EDIT: If any blokes doubt this, just try wandering around without any clothes on. No uniform = no flirting.
