I asked for Morrowind NPC dialouge. You get what you ask for, it's... pretty terrible

  1. "Greetings, traveler. Have you come seeking knowledge? Or perhaps you're looking to trade? Either way, I'm happy to oblige. Just be warned, the roads of Vvardenfell can be dangerous for the unwary. Many dangers lurk in the ash wastes, and there are creatures that even the most skilled warrior would be wise to avoid."

  2. "Ah, it's good to see a friendly face. I've been on the road for weeks, and I'm getting tired of these blasted blight storms. It's a harsh land, this Vvardenfell, but there's something about it that keeps drawing me back. Perhaps it's the challenge, or maybe it's the thrill of exploration. Whatever it is, I can't seem to stay away."

  3. "I see you're carrying some interesting artifacts there. Care to trade? I have some rare books and scrolls that might interest you. Or if you're looking for something more practical, I have a selection of enchanted weapons and armor. Of course, such things don't come cheap. But then again, neither does survival in this land. It's a dangerous world out there, my friend. Best be prepared."

I can't tell the difference between that and actual Bethesda writing. 😆

https://www.ign.com/videos/star-wars-jedi-survivor-day-1-patch-and-why-these-are-so-common

We sat down with developers to discuss day 1 patches, and why games like Star Wars Jedi: Survivor have a tricky road to launch. The Star Wars Jedi: Survivor Day 1 Patch has a lot of users on Steam discussing their issues, and asking questions about why these performance issues exist in the first place. With EA releasing a public apology for the launch day woes on PC we asked developers about video game patches, why they happen, and why something like the Star Wars Jedi: Survivor patch is even a thing on launch day.

Yeah, Redfall's been getting dragged over the coals by reviewers. Not that long ago, Arkane was one of the most consistently celebrated devs but they've had a couple of stumbles lately.

Is that Microsoft strategy to prove that they NEED Activision Blizzard to be competitive?

It seems to be their first major stuble. Some thought Deathloop was a bit crap, but overall it's their most critically acclaimed title. Prey didn't do so well, but it seemed to grow into a cult classic.

I will probably give it a go at some point, with it being on Gamepass, but after how poor the reception has been so far I am doubtful if it will maintain playerbase for long enough for me to join in. I don't think Arcane has rabbit fanbase that Bethesda did with Fallout76.

Heard that Jedi: Survivor is badly optimized for the PC. Man, this whole 'console port for the PC' is still a thing?

There used to be a signature here, a really cool one...and now it's gone.

Lately it’s been a thing again. We have quite a few contenders for a worse PC port of the year. It’s so good for Jedi: Survivor that Redfall released right after 😛.

I don’t mind as long as they fix it - it makes waiting for a decent discount so much easier.

As the previous console generation ports of Hogwarts Legacy launch today, it has been revealed that the game has grossed a billion dollars in sales. I think it's safe to say we'll see a sequel in the future.

Edit: Speaking of, Steam is downloading an update to Hogwarts Legacy

Seems like Bethesda’s sharp writing is still alive and well in Starfield

That's a deep cut. I'm giving Bethesda points for that one.:-

SILKSONG UPDATE! Not great news through - it slipped its unannounced 1st half of 2023 release, and now is scheduled to come out at some unspecified point later.

That wasn't Bethesda though. It is the writing sample from the RPS guy with which he wants to convince Bethesda to let him write the sexy stuff 😛

Lamplighters League seem to got a lot of previews out - most of the gameplay videos seem sponsored so keep that in mind. A puiblic demo would be nicer Paradox.

EDIT. Holy smokes, after two years of broken Baldur's Gate3, seeing a neutral enemy behave within turn based system at 36:53 feels mindblowing.

Lamplighters League looks great, more polished than the last new thing I saw for Cyber Knights: Flashpoint, granted that was many months ago. I'm still more interested in CK:F, simply on the strength of it being from the same devs that made the excellent Star Traders: Frontiers.

@melkathiThat's what I get for skimming that article.

Wooooormie stop unfairly criticizing Bethesda writing, you know Romance is optional. We shouldnt think that represents the overall quality of this anticipated game because that's what a lot of people are doing now. They saying things like " look at the pillow talk in Starfield...ha-ha. This game is going to be an epic failure, I told you "
