I am very surprised anyone would advocate Trump being banished into the desert? I am sure its unconstitutional that kind of punishment but more importantly banishment is suppose to be punitive , Trump is very industrious and he would end up creating some sort of " Trump Super Desert Casino " Remember Vegas, never forget Vegas 1 hour ago, Zoraptor said: Just go with the theory that Moses ~ Akhenaten. rjshae Posted January 19, 2021 Posted January 19, 2021 Funny how McConnell is being more assertive now about Trump. Trump's marauders would just call Mitch a traitor and visit his office as well. The movement to dump Trump is only happening because Trump is currently away from influence and is deeply unpopular after the MAGA Putsch. Mitch (as well as most Republicans and social media companies) would be doing something entirely different if Trump had made headway in his attempts at legal trickery and/or the maga mob was favorably received. Within the next decade when we see off-brand Trumps get into positions of power you'll see the same folks currently taking a stand going back to sitting down and enabling just like they did with Trump. ComradeYellow Posted January 20, 2021 Posted January 20, 2021 Bull****. In two years the pendulum will swing left because it has nowhere else to go. Trump will be largely forgotten and overridden. The right had their chance to get a leg up in the culture war and the blew it, leaving his lingering support pariarah grade. 1

If the Republican congress critters had show more backbone in December, the sack of the Capitol building might never have happened. I have decided to embrace reconciliation and the reasonable objective of " healing the nation " . I am more than prepared to accept the new and more constructive opinions of the likes of McConnell and Lindsay Graham. These established Republicans supported Trumpism but this was more about political survival than flawed or dysfunctional ideology that was associated with much of Trumpism Trumpism is going to fade quickly IMO, especially with how Trump has been his own worst enemy by not accepting defeat and then the attack on Capitol just added to the damage done to most positive views of his political legacy But its best not to dwell on the past on all previous political developments and for me that means in the interest of uniting the USA I am glad the Republican establishment is slowly but inexorably distancing themselves from Trump As Biden said recently " dont tell me it cant be done, it can be done if we want it to " "Abashed the devil stood and felt how awful goodness is and saw Virtue in her shape how lovely: and pined his loss” John Milton "We don't stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing.” - George Bernard Shaw "What counts in life is not the mere fact that we have lived.
