  1. Honestly, I found that if I just held my rogue back for a second whilst my fighters engaged, it was easy to pop in behind targets and melee them without concern. The rogue can take a few hits and aren't as squishy as people make them out to be. Along with Invisibility and their disengagement ability, they can easily survive a melee encounter as long as someone behind the wheel is paying attention. Edit: My rogue's stats are 18 12 17 14 14 9 and she has the second highest hit dealt, and damage done, next to the Druid. How did you get your stats that high? That's 84 total, but at the start you can distribute only 78. looks like it's with resting bonus
  2. whoa thats harsh what if you kill him accidentally (like oops I cast magic missile instead of shield wall) or kill him without realizing he is so important
  3. The beta has nothing to do with the main plot... but you can kill quest NPC's, so that you can't complete quests
  4. I think that the people of Dryford has died more times than you can imagine
  5. Other than RP reasons It seems to me that there is a risk/reward involved in playing a melee rouge. From what I have played in the BETA, the dual wield deal more DPS than than ranged. but makes you more vulnerable.
  6. Sigh... my one true love, I just can't shake her, miss. DOTA
  7. my guess would be, that if you preorder it directly of their homepage http://buy.pillarsofeternity.com/
  8. DAI is only to long because 80% of the game is meaningless grind. I'm not a hater of anything that isn't EI like. hell I even enjoyed Fallout 3 and Skyrim. When you buy a Bioware game you should by now know what is is your getting story and character wise. And alot of poeple enjoy that. But even if DAI did get the enjoyable bioware stuff right. It failed on so many other accounts, the loot system is boring, all the none story based quest are a major grind that in the end gives you little to nothing in return, its also really really easy. I played the game on nightmare, and at no point in the game did I feel I had to really optimise my gear or build (and that leads to loot being mostly worthless, because you can beat any encounter with random gear anyway). And to make the games even easier they give you a SUPERPOWER ABILITY that if used can win you any encounter. I kill the last boss in around 15 sec by stopping time and spinning with my axe on him. I can still enjoy the bioware stories unlike many on this forum, but if you take a look at the game with a critical eye, it really is pure trash. A huge world with filler content with no real purpose.
  9. Bounty Hunter is the worst class for cheesing. So much cheese. YOU FACE DEMOGORGON, PRIN..... dead...
  10. How long.. Pm if you want to know
  11. I just don't see how it would add anything to make this game better. Id like not to see this, sorry
  12. The leader or king whatever he is. in Raedric's hold screenshot is sitting on his throne. So i guess they have the animation
  13. many of the ability upgrades dosn't seem to be worth it. Frenzy Frenzy: the base is a really cool burst +4 str +4con and extra attack speed. but the upgrade gives you an extra +2str +2con, and it costs you a full skill point. it just isnt worth it: Since the ability is once pr. encounter the upgrade should include a duration bonus aswell. Wild sprint again a cool base ability that lets you reposition yourself and try to take out an archer or a mage in the back. + speed and +deflection and lets you ignore enemys. the upgrade give you extra speed?..... why? you already have more speed, and enough duration to get to were you want to go, more speed isn't usefull, you should either get more deflection or more pr.rest if you choose to upgrade it, or something third.
  14. I'v heard nothing official yet...could be tomorrow could be the 26'th. but I guess you get to choose your copy the same time they choose to give out the codes. probably in the next update.
  15. I think i'm going for the barbarian myself. He seems like a good mix of. Tank/mobility/damage I am not a power gamer, and I like to make concepts, more than the most powerful. like a weapon master staff fighter with mobility etc. Its always possible to complete the game anyway, so role playing should be your goal, especially in your FIRST play though, make something you'll remember playing. Choose the class you think Is the coolest and then put your own twist on it
  16. well so do I .. in tabletop.. were I don't have unlimited rolls.
  17. the art style in this game is probably the thing I think they got almost perfect. the moment I ran over the bridge and into Dyrford village and saw the waterwheel and the buildings, I was so happy with how this game looked.
  18. I dont know if the game has DREAM sequences. But I do know that the game has Narrated text based sequences like this. starts around 2.30 (this is a huge spoiler btw)
  19. I agree with this. I didnt think much of it before now (thanks BTW ) for functional reasons I can see how they should be on top But To be honest Id really like to see the text first. Imagine you just fund a magical sword. This game does not have indentify, so you just open the menu and look at the stats. Its fine and all, but Id actually rather have a cool background story pop op in front of my eyes when I open that menu.

  21. oh.. okey, well thats kinda sad. we can hope the put in some enchanted monk gauntlets to make up for the lack of enchanted weapons.
  22. I bg 1-2 you can use a weapon early as a monk with some benefit, but later in the game they became useless for the monk, atleast not as good as his fists. I really like the idea of fighting with a staff as a monk, but in this game investing in weapon types is costly. do you think this could be a viable option, or would it just be a waste of the monks abilitys like i was in the EI games? Another option could be to make staff fighter, with mobility/damage skills etc?.
