Then what I would do is to buy another HDD exactly the same size like the one youre using and then use your motherboard to run them in RAID 1. Then youll have two identical cloned discs meaning that if one fails, all the data will still be left on the other drive and all you need to do is to run it as a regular single HDD to access the data again. It also means you will increase the read spead of you drives as the system reads from both simulatenously. With an external USB hardrive, youll just neglect to do regular backups because itll be so slow to transfer data, and when the main HDD breaks youre left with your pants down.

I liked being able to do that, saves both time and the hassle of having to have to drag around some useless thief henchman. WHat I would have asked, had I not been halway to bed when the chat started, was wether its going to be possible to create working creatures/npc's from scratch complete with animations and then import them into NWN2. So far its only been aknowledged that placeable objects will be possible.

I use WinAmp 5.05 (old) and I see no reason why I should ever use any other player. Its got everything except a proper randomizer, the algorithm it uses always picks the same 30 songs out of 5000.

But sometimes you wonder what software developers are thinking with. Like how 3ds MAX8 uses DirectX to render in-program instead of OpenGL making it impossible to port it to workstations, MacOSX and Linux. Games you can understand but the above is just plain being talked to shoot yourself in the foot.

I still dont understand how THACO works, I dont understand armour and I most of all dont understand if like 1 1/3 attacks is better or worse than 2

But was that 100 certified attempts to break in or was it simply 100 instances of the firewall recieving data it did not recognise? If I log into my router and check the logs I get about one such warning every 2 minutes but that is just signals the ISP server and routers send to say hi and check if the connection works. The WinXP firewall should really be all you need unless you want to be able to precisely control what comes in and out of your computer, which most programs aimed at the common user (zonealarm etc.) dont do. It also you requires you to know a great deal about TCP/IP and other protocols to be able to interpret the information you get.

But the point is that a backup HDD needs to last not a few weeks, not a few months, but years and years. So none of the cheap stuff will do.
