First post with new sweet 7900GTX. First impressions: This card is quiet! less noise than my old zalman cooler.. it also runs at about 45C idle which 15-20C lower than my 6800U

In a way its wishful thinking. Still, MMO's are really a genre of their own that doesnt compete on the same level as normal games. Some people might say that MMO's signify the death of single/multi-player CRPGs but I think thats alot like saying football wil be the end of hockey. but MMO's are doing well and WoW is the king

I know a lot of you have more or less voluntarily served but I would like to know why you signed up? What makes one go into a recruitment office and sign a contract? It seems most people do it for the benefits and/or the money, not because they have a deep urge to serve the goverment. In Sweden we have compulsory military duty so I like all men was sent to this base to go through evaluation but it just took me an hour to realise the military wasnt for me(slight problem with authority ") so I wiggled out of it.

You can ask for double anaesthetics in Sweden, I had a wisdom tooth pulled last summer (doing it again in two months) and I didnt feel a damn thing, it stuck in for about an hour or two afterwards too so it was completely painless. And its not like when you were a kid and went and they shot your mouth so full of painkilers that you drooled and spoke like a mongoloid for an hour afterwards either :D

Also, a big point is that the 1900 cards draw a humongous amout of power(around 130w), too much for my 350w silent PSU, whereas the 7900GTX draw only 10w more than my old 6800u(65-74w) Bloom with .ini tweaks can look just as good... <{POST_SNAPBACK}> The way HDR is implemented in Oblivion is just like Bloom effects. They dont use it like youre supposed to on specific ares of luminescence (like a window in daylight seen from a dark interior) but they plaster it everywhere. Just look at the damn walls in the capital city, they shine so bright your eyes hurt and thats not the way its supposed to be IMO

The 7900GTX will give me full eyecandy, full AA+AF@1280x1024 BUT it will also give me one hell of an fps, which you won get at 1600x1200 (per-pixel lighting/effects are heavier to run the more pixels youve got, see?) And where did you get it frm that the x1900XT is cheaper? its almost the exact same price

I just think devs use it in unnescessary places and theres too much of it. Kind of like people did with Lens Flare when that first came in photoshop

Has anyone mentioned the fact that prepping a structure like the WTC towers for demolishion (as was suggested in the documentary) would take weeks, probably months, and also require drilling into the concrete structure to place the charges in order for them to have any effect?

There wont be any ATI cards in my computers until they seriously shape up (well, apart from the one thats in this one " ) and HDR has to be the most overrated eye-candy to date. the only game it looked good in was Hl2, in Oblivion or Farcry it just looks like someoe smeared vaseline on the inside of my screen and cranked up the brightness (no, Im not confusing it with LightBloom)
