  1. Because I believe a [tag] is immersion breaking, and I think a colour might not be. it's true, I'm not sure. 1. Anna died sorry mate 2. Anna is alive she is waitin for you
  2. Both. My Ballroom is better than my Latin. Got a fairly good frame and the right build for it. So my european tango used to be my strongest dance, probably followed by my waltz. Foxtrot is seriously lacking in ladies over here, so no chance to really practice it. My rumba and cha cha are fairly good. I enjoy swing but find it hard to lead more than a few open breaks and turns. I do not enjoy mambo and it shows. I understand that there are people who like samba, but do not count myself among them. Tried to learn some quickstep and viennese waltz, but around these parts people only learn that for competitions, so had little chance to try. Haven't been to the gym in two years myself. I just get bored of it so easily. it is Boring with a capital B. still, it felt good. As for dancing, it became too expensive for me. My favourite was the Paso Doble, which I have completely forgotten. I love the Cha-Cha because you can do so much with it. I liked the mambo, but don't ask me to do it today. European tango I never got very far with, but that does mean I remember how to do it I liked both the English and the Viennese waltz. the irony is that most people I know who can do a little, know the salsa, which is something I actually never learned. Samba was nice too. As for the Foxtrot, 4 steps in a 3-step timing, yeah, never worked for me. that is tough.
  3. While a Tabula Rasa has its drawbacks, I can live with it. But that's not what I meant. Mostly I'd like to fill in my backstory myself. I don't believe a game backstory for my character gives me the freedom to role-play 'me'. As I'll feel limited by my backstory. (unless by some magic the game backstory for me happens to be exactly what I wanted it to be.
  4. Green for being polite ? Pink for being **** and yellow for "I don't care" ? ike in Dragon Age 2 ? I hawe only one answer for this .. that is adorable. Can you explain why you don't think this is a good idea? Becouse i personaly think that led by the hand or facilitate and helping me on every step You need to work on your English, no offence meant. I take that to mean you don't want hand-holding. which is a sentiment I fully agree with. However, colour coding intent is merely clarification, not the same as telling you which option is better. We had a big discussion about it a while back

  6. So what will satisfy you ? leaving it blank, or answering vague questions about it throughout play. Look, it's not something I care an immense deal about. if most people enjoy a pre-fab backstory, I can live with that. But I prefer not.
  7. like how the first quest of Icewind Dale was literally a goblin genocide? yeah, I'm with you on that.
  8. I'm fine with you wanting to role-play evil. But I don't believe in absolute morality like that, and I think it makes for weak characterisation. So yes, I hope there are options to behave as a sociopath, perhaps even a whole path to follow. But, and this is important. I wouldn't ever tag any choice as good or evil. I'll leave that up to the player.
  9. There's no way a pre-made backstory is going to satisfy my auteur insert desires.
  10. not sure how it relates to the article, but I like the idea of praying to a god for some break, and then having to do a task for that god as part of the bargain. and you might feel it cost you more than it delivered.
  11. which is why NO alignments is the way to go. Btw, I'm not sure if powergaming should be rewarded, because it's pretty much always meta-game thinking that causes players to powergame. I think eliminating those options forces people into a role-playing mindset, exactly because they CAN'T do everything they want to.
  12. But could it be colour coded rather than tagged? Red for a lie, normal for truth?
  13. can you see it rather than "You must gather your party before venturing forth" the most hated sentence in RPG gaming will become "You cannot use this weapon in confined spaces". Not that it will bother my main character, My love for Kali will ensure she uses daggers and batons, and a last resort pistol.
  14. Ballroom or Latin or both? I did some dancing during my teenage years, and I loved it. Today I went to the gym. I hadn't gone for a year, what with me thinking I'd be moving I'd cancelled my subscription. I had forgotten how good it feels to work up a good sweat.
  15. Nice pictures Op I agree with the above post but you should be able to defeat them. Whats the point if you can't beat them? well, near unbeatable. I heard in Skyrim you had dragons and they weren't even the fiercest beasts you could beat, they died quite quickly after a while. That's not what I think of when I think of dragons, when I think of dragons I think of (near) unbeatable doom machines you better not cross. With a mind like a cat. (similar to how Robin Hobb describes dragons)
  16. Yes to dragons, yes to diversity between dragons, not many, and those you find should be unbeatable
  17. “Whole problem with the world is that fools and fanatics are always so sure of themselves, and wiser people are full of doubts” ― George Bernard Shaw

  18. that's an interesting point, should the game /allow for/reward player behaviour which is not calculated for. In some cases yes, outsmarting the game should be rewarded (without using meta-game thinking) But not rewarding psychotically killing several guardsmen in the middle of a city, I think, would be equal to teaching the player some sense: no good will come of it.
  19. There will be an adventure hall where you can create your own party members, but that might mean missing out on some content that comes with the party members which will join your party much the same way as in Baldurs Gate.
  20. It's so hard to refrain from arguing sometimes, even when you know you'll never convince a wall to move with mere words.

  21. I loved Athkatla, and nothing much beyond. I did like the vast amount of quests, I didn't like having them all stacked up and active at the same time with hardly any log-management. I disagree with Sawyer on various things, but I don't think he's unqualified for his job, which is what I believe you are saying Helm. (correct me if I'm wrong) I'm sorry for you if you can't get past that.
  22. Different people focus on different things. If Sawyer is all about the mechanics, I expect combat in PE will be much better than it was in the IE games.
  23. "Miss classic cRPGs like Baldur's Gate, Icewind Dale, and Planescape: Torment? So do we!" Josh Sawyer does not miss Baldur's Gate, he hates it. I guess they should change it to avoid all of the confusion. Then nobody here will expect an IE style game anymore. You keep hammering on about that. He didn't like it (as much as other games) that's not the same as hate. Secondly, So what, he's not the only one working on this game. BG2's combat DID leave a lot to be desired, imo. Josh Sawyer doesn't do the writing, that's Chris Avellone's job, so you needn't worry. Besides, that was posted in 2006. Everyone has come a long way in the last few years, learned a lot, gained some wisdom and strengths. Project Eternity wants to bring back the old magic, but that doesn't mean it will be completely the same. And I think that's a good thing. Because as much as I enjoyed Baldurs Gate II, it was a flawed game. All of them were flawed games. Why not take the best of all of them, and update the parts which were sub-par? I think as a design philosophy that will bring us something even better.
  24. yes. I don't want to be the one who is always convinced, or learning wisdom. My Character has enough wisdom that I can at least attempt to make others see things (more) my way.
