Your Tiers List [Base Classes, Subclasses]
dunehunter replied to theBalthazar's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
One powerful combo I found is Shattered Pillar/Wizard, combusting wound + rooting pain + torment reach is very strong combo, I tested this on a few dummies and the combusting damage triggered every time of rooting pain. -
KW is always pretty strong in both PoE 1 and 2, I did a moongodlike Kind wayfare/Helwaker buid in beta 1 before the lash and sworn enemy nerf. I can easily solo beta at PoTD. Then in beta 2 they nerfed both lash of FoD and Lightning strike, and then change the heal effect to proc only on hit/crit in beta 3, and to proc on graze/hit/crit in beta 4.

If u don’t wanna get the huge extra damage penalty from helwalker when fighting titan, you can clear the wounds by spamming some instant cast abilities, like that +Str inspiration one, just cast 5 in a row and u will clear all 10 wounds and avoid the extra damage. Need some micro tho.

Backstab - 175% instead of 150%
dunehunter replied to bleedthefreak's question in Backer Beta Bugs and Support
See, we thought that as well, but the math doesn't work out that way either. It does work out if you assume the graze is -100% though. EDIT - To clarify, the presence of Backstab seems to be making the additive Graze effect -100% and the Crit effect +100% instead of the normal 50%. When there is no Backstab in the mix the numbers work out about the way they should be (some minor rounding here and there). Here u go, hope this helps https://forums.obsidian.net/topic/94694-bug-not-getting-bonus-damage-from-high-armor-penetration/?do=findComment&comment=1954833 -
Backstab - 175% instead of 150%

UI issue, graze is calculated separately, I don’t know the formula, @MaxQuest he found out how the graze is calculated. -
Helwalker/assassin

Yep they don’t , but cipher also has good self buff spells like body attuned and borrowed instinct. I’m sure they will have high level offensive spells too. Also all extotations does not work on self include liberation extotation. I think a solo paladin would be worse than cipher because they will have nothing to do except using FoD until he got SI, same as PoE 1. But the good thing is u can choose not to pick these spells and abilities when soloing and focus only on one or two spells u like.

Your Tiers List [Base Classes, Subclasses]
dunehunter replied to theBalthazar's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
But now it does hit the same target twice, it’s a bit weird now. If u bounce only once then you will hit same target twice, if u bounce 3 times, the 1st bounce will always on same target, only the 2nd one actually jumps. I think there are some bugs here. -

Very interesting thing is that when you have driving flight the 2nd shot has -50% bounce penalty. But when u are a fury/ranger and have driving flight, the penalty becomes that 1st bounce -20% damage, 2nd bounce -36% damage. Also only the 1st bounce will attack the origin target, the 2nd won't. -

Yep, the items seem to be still favour low deflection/resolve type of characters. Prevent death, prot on being crit effect and etc. -

Maybe it will work if you can trigger an infinite damage loop Like the soul mate/heal undead combo in DOS2 -
I was thinking of alternating between guns and backstabbing. But I haven't checked much the Beta, so I'm not sure what works best. I don't want to be a rogue with a greatsword. I want a more pirate-like character with guns, a shortsword or stilettos. In fact, my character was a duel wielding stiletto priestess of Skaen (one of Boeroer's builds ). So I can backstab with an arquebus? It doesn't work with dual wielding? Sorry for my ignorance. I have a lot to consider to choose my character... Backstab with a stiletto is pretty bad, but i guess you are not a min-max player so do whatever you like

Beta IV - General Feedback [The Good // The Bad]
dunehunter replied to DexGames's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Can anyone confirm that if a character has two trait that gives status resistance, he can ignore lvl 2 affliction? Or they won't stack? -
Deadfire: Would you like to know more?
dunehunter replied to Tattyblue's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Charge, cleave, carnage, disengagement attack, riposte all can trigger skald special thing. Only carnage of these is not an 'attack' so it won't trigger weapon proc on hit, and won't generate focus for cipher. All the rest will. -
Low level, no; High level, I think yes but i'm not so sure. At low level your spells are of low level, low pl, so pure level caster is better. But when u at lvl 20, you can get both spells to lvl7, if you are a wizard/priest, u have 4x6+2x2 = 28 spells. a pure wizard will have 2x9 = 18 spells. So a caster/caster multiclass is quite decent in late game.

Twin arrows only works with the hunting bow and the war bow in poe 1. Guns get powder burns. You sure? Because i saw Maria use twin shot with arquebus in the twitch video. Maybe it's another ability.
-
Yeah that Arquebus looks really powerful, it has one jump With ranger it would be 1+1+1 hits, 3 hits from arquebus jump and driving flight. If u use twin shot it gonna be 3 X 2 = 6 hits ops!

So everybody saw that Street Sweeper so I will not mention it here Some other cool gears, a singing sabre that gives stackable lash for each phrase chanted, and also refund resource point for each empowered invocation casted. A cool cloak that gives bonus damage for attack from stealth, and stun enemy too. All looks really uniques and fun. Well done Obisidian!

I think we shouldn't completely judge armor rate by weapon penetration. One important thing to be noted is the enemy type we face has big range. And there are only part of them use weapons. And there are a lot enemies that has natural weapons. If we assume that these enemies has low penetration, then armor is still useful in these cases.

Suggestion - Wizard Subclass "free" Spell
dunehunter replied to bleedthefreak's topic in Backer Beta Discussion
Bad idea to me, so if u make so, wizards can cast a lvl 9 blast from stealth, and followed by a ‘free spell’ then a normal spell, 3 meteor shower in a row?!
