  1. Yes, wound stack itself. Not only each axe wound stack, every time u hit a target, the wound stacks.
  2. Priest spirtual weapons have +50% lash damage, monk can get +80% lash once they have max wound, I'd rather go Nalpazca if multiclass. You can use drug before battle, activate dance of death, and u will reach max wound after 6 secs. Then enjoy the big lash bonus with whatever class u multiclass to, better with some class that has damage bonus, like cipher and rogue. Shattered pillar might be better single classes because your ultimate ability Whipser of Wind cost wounds and do a lot full attacks, u can spam it since shattered pillar generate wound by attacking. Also u get upgraded Torment reach earlier, as a shattered pillar u can spam it crazily and watch all enemies around stunned. OP as hell
  3. yes, buff will affect enemy, you will heal enemy with FoD if u are confused.
  4. I remember DoT kills can trigger cleave in beta when I rolled a figher/barbarian with dual axe. So I assume bloodthirst will also be triggered by DoT.
  5. DnD 3.0 has a good example for solving these problems. Rogue's sneak attack scale with level. Paladin Smite evil scales with level. Or am i missing something here? I thought this is a perfect solution unless someone can point out the drawback of d&d way.
  6. As I said earlier, backstab only works with one hit from stealth/invisible in beta. It works better with 2h weapon because they have higher base weapon damage.
  7. If you select abilities like Bloodied, or if you are a human or fire godlike. You will get a buff when u r bloodied, so you will be warned so. Same as Death godlike, they got a buff when at near death. So u will notice that too. Need some extra attention tho. Otherwise, no, u cannot get general info about health condition.
  8. As far as I've read in reddit and here, everybody is planning on build a multi-class rogue, so why care about single class one
  9. I want to choose Assassin but I don't really like pikes and greatswords. I hope there is some other way to play the class. Or maybe I could just use the talking sword or keep a bigger weapon in another slot. If I choose Assassin/Evoker, I can "backstab" with my spells, right? I made a proposal in beta forum to give a time window for backstabbing, it means every attack coming from stealth/invisible would be counted as a backstab in a short period of time. I suggested the time window to be 0.5 sec, so u can do two backstab with full attack ability in this way. Also u cannot backstab with spells, but u can assassinate with spells, spells get +50% crit damage when casted from stealth/invisible. So assassin/wizard is doable.
  10. Comparing monk and rogue is reliable to me because both of them are strikers, i wouldn't compare a monk with priest in this way, it make no sense. But I'd compare a chanter with a priest. Also because comparing one high level class tree with another is the most direct way to understand how good they are, since we haven't got the game yet. I played both a monk and a rogue in beta, many many times, I feel monk is better overall. Rogue is ok in a team, not good when solo unless u go stealth and backstab, Monk is both ok when solo and in a team. Rogue can do good single target CC, locked down one enemy because blind currently just stop recovery time from recovering (bug?). DoT of Rogue is good, but it still kill slower than Monk, might change if we get access to better weapons because fist is better than weapons now. An we dunno about mid~late game since we only access to lvl 9 in beta, I agree it would be better when the game is released then discuss their performance. On paper I feel rogue is inferior, that's my opinion but i could be wrong. Edit: Also @Gromnir u said in your playthrough rogue is good, but have u ever played both rogue and monk and compare their performance? I can say any class is good in beta if I don't compare each of them, judging class without comparison seems not so convincing.
  11. i havent made my mind up im trying very hard to make a single class rogue work but they just arent stacking up to other classes Even if you don't love the rogue high level abilities, a single class is still going to have access to level 4-7 abilities a lot faster and more of them as well. May not be enough to sway you, but its definitely worth keeping in mind that you'll have those abilities for a much larger portion of the game, when comparing single vs multi class. These power lvl 4-7 abilities actually not so appealing as well. You already got bunch of 'Strike' type abilities from pwr lvl 1-3, the only cool thing later is deathblow. All the rest is just more and more active abilities u can pick from. It feels reductant and duplicated to me, and of course the pool is limited. You can pick 100 different strike ability, but you might only use 1~2 type of them, all rest is wasted. In compare, let's say monk, gain a cool modal Turning Wheel that boost his damage at pwr lvl 6? Got a Teleport and hit kind ability Palegallent path. Got a summon duplicate ability. Much more versatile, more interesting.
  12. so are you saying a rogue has increased interupts on ALL attacks or just when a rogue uses ability attacks like blind, weaken , hobble ect............ also do we have any official word from obs on this? and anyone now if backstab is good for both dual weild and two handed style? Q1: only when u use an ability, but it's fine since cripple hit only cost 1 guile. Q2: in beta, two handed.
  13. If you only look at rogue ability tree, it looks ok. Then u compare it with tree of fighter barb and monk it’s a bit lackluster.
  14. But they have different method to fix the build without making an ability trash. Like change the mechansim of Lash, or increase ability cost. Increased ability cost would make it horrid- far more so than losing a few percentage points of additional damage. No idea what you have in mind for 'change the mechanism of lash,' but I very much doubt it would quick or functional to do. Now lash works for all damage bonus, so if your weapon damage is 20, you have 200% damage bonus, 100% lash bonus, the final damage would be 20 * 3 * 2 = 120. Lets say if lash only applies to base weapon damage, it will be the same 20 * (1+2+1) = 80, so less spike damage. Or they can cut a bit of BW bonus instead of nerfing the whole paladin class.
  15. I can make the same argument that Monk has two source pool, Monk has best autoattacks, Barbarian has Carnage. It shouldn't be the reason that one class's ability tree is much superior that another. Every class has a start trait, your argument that because rogue/ranger has a start trait so they should have less powerful ability sounds so plain to me
  16. Exactly, also to be noted inspiration can counter one affliction, so if you have Strong, Fit, Quick, you can not be stunned by one spell, stun and fit will first cancel each other. Then the next stun ability can stun u.
  17. But they have different method to fix the build without making an ability trash. Like change the mechansim of Lash, or increase ability cost.
  18. Imo they just nerf some class combo too hard without fixing either single classes. For example Eternal Flame is nerfed to 10% fire lash because they afraid the BW/Assassin combo becoming too strong. But compare to Shared Flame that gives 20% fire lash to all your team member including summons, would there be anybody pick Eternal Flame? They balance the game because people says omg that combo is so OP, but also make the ability unbalanced at the same time. Also based on some comment in general subforum, sneak attack is nerfed to 30% sneak attack. I dunno if this is also because rogue is too good for multiclass, but it juse make single class rogue less appealing both early and late game.
  19. Most likely . If you've seen Cohh's stream he shows that Sneak attack with Trickster subclass only deals +10% damage because of the penalty: https://youtu.be/hNqM6B1w4AE?t=2575 On Wiki and in the beta it was +20%. So it's not far cry to say that Sneak attack was nerfed in general. It looks like devs were so afraid of broken multiclass builds they nerfed rogues to the ground. Couldn't even give them decent and varied high level abilities to make an incentive for singleclassing. A single 9th level active ability for a rogue, while other classes get like five? Agreed
  20. So true. Barbarian has: Frenzy(self-buff), Shout(aoe CC), Leap(motility), Heart of Fury(aoe nuke), Savage Defiance(self-healing); Monk has: Swift Strike(self-buff), Duality(modal), Torment reach(aoe CC), Palegellant's path(motility), Inner Death(single target nuke), Whipser of wind(aoe nuke); Rogue: Smoke Cloud(aoe CC), different strikes, Escape. No aoe nuke, no self-buff, no modals; Ranger: Same as rogue different shots, Evasive roll. Also no aoe nuke, no self-buff, no modals. At least I expect something like Arrow rain. Even figher has all of these sweet things covered, they have self-buff, aoe CC/nuke, motility and super tanky.
  21. True, PoE 1 is the very exactly old AD&D style, where casters being super powerful late game. Deadfire makes a better job balancing caster and meleer.
  22. The nerfhammer I played a lot combos in beta and almost all are nerfed to some degree, Unbroken/wizard(no longer trigger disengagement attack when enemy flees), Kind wayfarer/Helwalker(nerf of FoD, nerf of Lightning strike), Monk with rod(rod blast can trigger Swift flurry and has cascade effect, instantly kill a bunch of enemy). Rogue/Wizard(aoe from rod and blight no longer triggers affliction). Ranger/Berath priest(wounding is nerfed to only based on weapon damage, was applied to total damage in beta 3). Now I'm playing a Devoted/Soulblade(cleave and soul annihilation) and a Sharpshooter/Helwalker(rod + driving flight + swift flurry), hopefully these won't be nerfed From previous evidence in POE and the beta, I would expect any build better than average will be nerfed harshly. The philosophy of OBS lately seems to be "viability for all, superiority for none" no matter what you try. Yep, I'm get a bit bored tho, maybe I'm the only one who won't play the game on 8th, would like to wait a few patch before starting the game.
  23. Yes it's way more powerful than ranger/rogue ultimate ability imo. Ranger's is meh, rogue on second thought is OK, not too good but ok. But Monk's Inner Death and Whipser of Wind I can imagine that with Empower and Swift Flurry + Burning Wheel + Passive extra hit, Whipser of Wind can be how devastating. Normally u can kill 6 very tough target instantly, or maybe instantly kill a boss if it can jump to same target. Full Attack with +100 Accuracy so u will at least trigger one extra hit, maybe two, each with 50% extra lash damage, so it's roughly equal to 2 x 1.75x 1.5=5 hits, and then 6 jump = 30 hits.
