Backstab is pretty bad in current game version. It only adds base weapon damage x 1.5 bonus to your first attack from stealth/invisible. So if you are wielding sabre 13-19 base damage, backstab bonus is = 24 extra damage. If you wield greatsword, you get around 30 extra damage. And since all your abilities are full attack ones, it's just bad to use 2h weapons now.

If you really wanna play a single class rogue, dual wielding is the best because backstabbing is nerfed hard. You don't really need to go 2h backstabbing style, I'd say backstabbing is pretty weak now because it only gives u a flat 20~30 damage. I'd dual sword or sabre, with some crush weapon in 2nd set. I just rolled a very common pale elf rogue. 10 Str, 10 Con, 19 Dex, 19 Per, 12 Int, 8 Res I think.

I think everybody overestimate backstabbing, with Might went back to additive bonus, backstabbing add 1.5 x base weapon damage to your hit. So if you wield a sabre, you get extra 20 damage and that's all. It seems to me some people still think backstabbing can increase your total damage by 1.5 times?

Overall, not bad not good. Single class rogue does 70% sneak attack late game while multiclass one does 60% so not big difference. Gambit is good as u can almost crit everytime u hit, refund the cost and use it again. But the problem is very obvious, your autoattack does almost the same damage as your ability in late game because all damage bonuses are additive bonus. My deathblow autoattack does like 60 damage and my vanishing strike does like 70 damage. Not impressive so far. Only shining point is I got Flurry of Blade, which is an AOE, yeah an AOE!!! Finally rogue has an AOE!!! Backstabbing is also very lame in late game when you have tons of damage bonus, it doesn't worth the extra mouse click.

Well my question TWO posts above still stands :D Oh sorry, but I thought I answered u in your most broken build thread, single class shattered pillar or nalpazca is best imo. Ok, just wanted to know if Bleak Walker adds something that can outdamage in the end a pure Shattered Pillar monk. Since we don't have any hard math yet so far it seems that pure monk will out damage any Multi Monk in end game. At least that is my impression There are just some ability u wanna get as soon as possible, Torment Raise, Turning Wheel, Inner Death. If these are not so good, I'd go Shattered Pillar/Devoted or Shattered Pillar/Paladin for more tankiness.
