I feel offended do you?
Hiro Protagonist II replied to a post in a topic in Pillars of Eternity: Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)No bugs at all? Would be good if you stopped lying. Ah here we go. So there is bugs in your game. The OP does have a point and it doesn't help when people like yourself come online and tell lies.

Pillars of Metagaming
Hiro Protagonist II replied to luzarius's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)If that was for me, no, I don't like the sucker punches in BG2. Except by now I know where everything is so I don't get sucker punched anymore. Going out of my way to look for trouble and then getting my face pushed in is completely different than being actively approach by an NPC with a quest, accepting it, and finding that it's way out of your level. I never had a beef with the difficulty of BG2 quests, only with the way in which the game pushes them on you. I still contend it would have been a far better game had the Chapter 2 content been spread out differently. Oh, so when asking the NPC by the bridge about the surrounding area and him saying his friend might be still alive in a cave, you're not going to check it out and try to save his friend? You're going to ignore this, take some time to go and find some companions and then go back to this area to take on this unknown threat? Funny how sucker punches in PoE are okay but in the IE games, they're not.

Pillars of Metagaming
Hiro Protagonist II replied to luzarius's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I take it people who have always had a problem with these similar 'sucker punches' from the IE games, that's been brought up time and again over the last two years of development on these forums and didn't want to see them in PoE, now like them in PoE since the game has been released, have changed their minds and also like these similar 'sucker punches' in the IE games?

Controversial Limerick Discussion
Hiro Protagonist II replied to Arsene Lupin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Huh? Why did this thread [title] and discussion go from being about Backer NPCs for quite some pages to the Limerick discussion that was closed the day before? The [changed] thread title and OP's post have nothing to do with each other. I'm sure the moderators are trolling us.

Coherent and thoughtful issue transparency
Hiro Protagonist II replied to khermann's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)I took khermann's post as perhaps post a list of bugs you'll be fixing in the next patch and display it on the forums so everyone knows what to expect to be fixed in the next patch. For example, Blizzard always posts what they'll be fixing, tweaking or even adding in their next patch. It'd be good to see something like this on these forums too. At the moment, the players are all in the dark on what's being fixed and what are the known issues to be worked on with a couple of exceptions when dev's post.

Controversial Limerick Discussion
Hiro Protagonist II replied to Arsene Lupin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Stop lying. Of course you can tell which are the backer NPCs and which are not. No, not really. Look at it this way. Without the backer NPC's, there wouldn't be much people around the maps. And when you click on non-backer NPCs, a lot of them don't have much to say if anything at all. In fact, you have no back story with them. At least you're getting a story written by Obsidian with the backer NPC's. And one of the themes with the game is your PC can look into souls. The backer NPCs show this with your power. It is internally consistent with the game world. And peering into souls is part of that. Similar to other NPCs in the game.

Controversial Limerick Discussion
Hiro Protagonist II replied to Arsene Lupin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)No it doesn't. Hit tab and the names come up straight away. And, there's not 500+. According to the KS pages, there's 114 of them throughout the whole game. And as mentioned by more than one person in this thread, Obsidian wrote the stories for some of them. Maybe all of of them. So blame the Obsidian writers if you don't like what's written.

Controversial Limerick Discussion
Hiro Protagonist II replied to Arsene Lupin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Hiro in Dyrford Crossing. I had no input in the story or what the story was about. In fact I didn't even make a story at all. I left it up to Obsidian to do. Direction? What direction? Obsidian wrote the story for my NPC.

Resting bonus for having sex with a prostitute
Hiro Protagonist II replied to insidious89's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)We need the SJWs and feminists to go onto twitter, make this all about misogyny and cause another uproar over this game. And then campaign to have this removed. Perhaps they'll contact Sawyer on twitter and he might take it up with the producers as another thing they missed.

Controversial Limerick Discussion
Hiro Protagonist II replied to Arsene Lupin's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)My NPC has been written by Obsidian. Any complaints about the NPC's story, you'll have to take it up with the Obsidian writers.

"Reach out for their soul"?
Well storywise, my NPC (Hiro in Dyrford Crossing) and Item had the intention of being tied together. My NPC was to give you something and you go off to gather 4 components and bring them back to him to make a sword. However, the developers said no to my initial submission. I then let Obsidian write the background to my NPC so as far as I'm concerned, the NPC is part of the story as they wrote it. My first item was a sword but it was too OP. So I changed it to a cloak (Hiro's Mantle) and let Obsidian come up with what the cloak would be.

Stronghold Immersion
Hiro Protagonist II replied to Elfwyn's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)If something is being upgraded, I'd like to see workers upgrading it when I walk through the grounds. Not one day a building is in tatters and no one is in sight despite the stronghold menu saying it's being worked on. And then I go rest for the night and come back down in the morning and a new building pops up. And still no one around.

IE Veteran's feedback
Hiro Protagonist II replied to Athrogate's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Combat is still too fast. You don't need enemies doing a Usain Bolt across the screen to get to you. Spell effects could get toned down a bit more too.

Kind of disappointed how mechanics dominates the skills
Hiro Protagonist II replied to vilePossum's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)It's bonus stuff and I've found quite a bit of it. But yeah, it's best to stay in stealth all the time and just stealth around in fast mode. Otherwise, when you're walking around out of stealth you'll miss stuff.

Hiro Protagonist II replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Nice misdirection there. This is not about my life, how men are treated or anything like that. But good to see you're true to form and those 8 words you wrote are quite telling. This is about a harmless limerick in a video game.- Memorials problem.
Hiro Protagonist II replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Here we go. No need to write paragraphs when the heart of the matter are these 8 words you've written.- Memorials problem.
Hiro Protagonist II replied to Ladyjess's topic in Pillars of Eternity: General Discussion (NO SPOILERS)Firedorn Lightbringer will go down in the annals of history and Chanters brave enough will sing of his demise. The chant of Firedorn Lightbringer. When a chanter sings this chant, it causes players to run to their deaths. - Hard mode is too easy.
