Low content density vs. greater density of content
On the contrary I think even after 50 playthroughs I found a few quests/hidden items etc that I had never experienced before. It's different if you play it once then go look up GameFAQs to find out what you missed out on

Cities on the other hand can be cluttered like Athkatla if they like It would be good to get a contrast between the feel of both cities, one more like Athkatla, one more like BG ?

Yeah that's what I was gathering as well.

I loved the BG1 Wilderness areas. There could be more stuff added to areas without making them feel too cluttered though. Most of them only had a few quests, some handplaced monsters and a few random encounter areas P:E will be a lot more interactive than the BG games, so they should be able to find plenty more things for people to do without it feel like there's too much going on.

Are you for or against gaining experience points only for completing objectives?
He does have a formspring account you know That's where we have got some good answers to some of the issues (like the spell-casting system), it was the formspring answer that cleared everything up.

- Ranger Class
Rangers were good in Icewind Dale 1 and BG1 because of the extra attack per round they got to try and assimilate two-weapon fighting The Archer and Stalker kit were okay in BG2 They sucked in IWD2. I mean really. They worked better in P&P because the BG games were very combat focused and the non-combat stuff that exists in D&D didn't really come into play at all. The Ranger has always been pretty much imitations of Strider and Drizzt Do'Urden. I'm not sure where the divine magic bit in 2E+ came from bit I suppose it makes sense. I'm open for something a bit different, but I think it's already been stated that Rangers are going to be the class to pick if you want to use a ranged weapon (or a Bow at least) in P:E and there'll be an Animal Companion mechanic of some sort.- Please don't make character effectiveness overlu gear dependent
Gear does make a big difference in BG/IWD but it's on a totally different scale to an ARPG. I wouldn't worry about that.- What about Greek Mythological monsters? (harpy, dryad, satyr, pegasus)
Chris likes to turn things on their heads so expect the unexpected- Let's Fight --- a discussion of combat styles
Titan Quest- Let's Fight --- a discussion of combat styles
"HEAR THAT ZAL?"- No fetch quests
Any quest can be fun depending on what happens along the way. In that one you went into a house, went downstairs, fought a bunch of 'toughish' monsters that gave you pretty good XP .. but he offered a pretty crappy tangible reward for the quest (he didn't have any money to pay you). So that quest wasn't very good. The one where you had to find all of the Sephirots was fun though.- Doing party AI right.
- Preferred Spell Icon Style
I'm not aversed to some stylized designs that fit the art style of the game. Something different would be good. However I think it would be cool to use a similar design for spells we are familiar with (such as the magic missile or whatever) as long as it doesn't breach any copyright laws- The shift of the powergaming paradigm to non-combat
With the Health and Stamina mechanic in the game, this changes the necessity of killing everything that attacks you. It would be interesting if this is a mechanic the designers choose to use. For instance you could not kill a downed foe and let him run off, and then this triggers a world event, whether it be a shift in reputation to a faction or him coming back later in the game with a bigger and badder bunch of friends to get revenge. This would be cool, I don't think it's been done before in an RPG other than when the game has interrupted you with a cut scene.- Randomization
No there hasn't because randomization is better in an ARPG game. There's been a few threads about random encounters, but the developers have already stated that there will be very, very little randomization in the game.
