  1. On the contrary The Wasteland 2 team put up a thread and invited people to contribute to the project, and I'm sure people sent emails as well. They have said that they found some amazing talent this way. This was one of the given examples Out of the 75,000 people that pledged, there's bound to be some people that are extremely good at something that could benefit the project.
  2. I find it highly unlikely that anyone takes it seriously. I also find it highly unlikely that people from the OO will make people leave the forum. The 'worst offender' posts I've seen are from non-OO members.
  3. I just want a good system where certain armor types have positives and negatives. 2E was a bit flawed where there was basically no point wearing Chainmail (made you easier to hit by bludgeoning attacks) if you had an alternative with the same AC. Light armor should allow for more mobility but not much protection from damage, whereas heavier armor limits your mobility but protects more from incoming damage. The Health and Stamina mechanic could be connected to armor somehow as well. For instance, when you get hit by damage you have a few things that the damage can potentially be spread across Your stamina value, your health and your armor. Lighter armor mightn't protect you as well from health damage as heavier armor etc
  4. In my interview Josh said they were aiming at something between 3.5E and 4E, so at least (yay) that doesn't mean that every class will basically be the same.
  5. The game won't use tiles, but they are building levels in 3D and then rendering them as a 2D image so before they render it they may re-use 3D assets (like Baldur's Gate 1 did with the trees and houses), which is completely fine with me. They don't need tiles to re-use content.
  6. I like the two Baldur's Gate narrators (Kevin Michael Richardson and Arthur Burkhardt) and the Icewind Dale 1 narrator (David Ogden Stiers). Those were my favourites.
  7. Baldur's Gate and Icewind Dale had these and P:E likely will too. I daresay they won't be that hard to implement. I won't be using them though.
  8. Josh has already said that he's leaning towards armor reducing damage.
  9. Well I don't want markers and tracking on in expert mode. That's about all I can say really.
  10. Arthur Burghardt, I am pretty sure. I thought it was Kevin Michael Richardson but apparently not
  11. I absolutely loved the first four books, but yeah A Dance with Dragons ... there were a few things I didn't like and it did really feel like an unnatural book. I haven't re-read it yet, but I didn't enjoy Tyrion or Daenerys' storylines at all, Quentyn's was completely superfluous as well. The best ones were all the stuff happening in the North, Dorne and Arya. I read the books first a few years before the show came out and the show doesn't hold a candle to the books. I was utterly devastated by how bad season 2 was (there were like 2 good episodes). I suppose the people that say they prefer the show probably watched it first. The ASoIAF books really benefit from re-reads actually, I've read the first four books 8 times each and only the last 2 reads felt superfluous. There were still little things I was picking up on and different chapters jumped out at me at different times (didn't care for the prologue of A Clash of Kings on the first read, LOVED It on the second+ etc)
  12. Hopefully they don't even take solo play into consideration. So that if you want a real challenge like you said then it will be a challenge.
  13. The avatar is the representation in the game, the paperdoll is the inventory one. I prefer the BG/IWD1 system. Painted Portrats, stylized Inventory paperdoll and in-game avatar. Obviously with character models being 3D, they might opt for IWD2 / Titan Quest / etc style where the Paperdoll is the avatar but closer up. I am not too fussed about faces and stuff, you won't get to see them that much. More concerned about gear changing the look when you wear it.
  14. The excellent wilderness music, the birds chirping and the autumn trees makes all the difference http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cd5RjdfJJxo
  15. I think I prefer a hard ending, however it does depend on what they are planning to do for the expansion, whether it is a continuation of the story (like ToB) or side-additions like TotSC. I think I'd prefer TotSC style personally, but maybe not quite as thin.
  16. Well after I agreed with you and you said this it looks personal to me. Would i have liked more meaty answers? Sure, but they probably save those for the likes of Gamebanshee and Sorcerer's Place. I was happy to even get my foot in the door so to speak. Our website hasn't been able to get an interview with a developer for years.
  17. The lockpick thing isn't new info, it's been mentioned somewhere before I submitted this interview 3 weeks ago as well, I tried to avoid any content related stuff because at the time they didn't even have much lore or anything worked out yet.
  18. I live in Australia where the internet is bloody expensive and even we have pretty good download plans available now. 5 years ago I was on 20GB a month, now I'm on 300 - same price
