  1. I want the gore to be as realistic as possible, chopping an arm off with a club is kinda unrealistic while crushing someone's skull isn't. Exploding corpses sure is fun, but I'd say it's fairly unrealistic with usual weapons while with explosives and some spells it would make sense. Having a high level spell called "Bloody Mess" that can make an enemy explode would be totally awesome. And having a violence slider like Fallout had would be pretty good too for those who don't want a lot of gore as well.
  2. I think Forton looks awesome, except for the slippers which makes little sense unless this is a pic drawn while he's on his way to take a bath. Besides that though, I like that he's older, bald and doesn't seem to care much about his looks.
  3. I agree completely with OP, would be great to have.
  4. Please no, it was bad enough in BG1 where i had to put Minsc at a safe distance from the rest of my party, then let Dynaheir walk alone into a pack of gnolls and get herself killed in order for me to only have Minsc in my party. I want to be able to handle my compations in whatever way I want.
  5. I like references to various things as long as they're subtle enough, to both current and classic things. And most game have them anyway.
  6. Nice idea, but we need to take it one step further - huge epic full beards.
  7. I've beaten Kangaxx. In his second form too, just to let you know that that particular example doesnt work. Well so have I, and I'm perfectly aware that it was a poor example. Just wanted to include Kangaxx in my post as I still remember the tons of "How do I defeat Kangaxx?"-threads at PBG a few years back. I tend to view every topic created by mcmanusaur as an invite to write posts that aren't overly serious. =)
  8. What you've sadly ignored when creating this topic is the HUGE amount of games that have sad/depressing endings. Some that are unwinnable like when you fight Kangaxx in BG2, which is simply impossible to pull off. In other games, you often have the option to a sad ending by either go into a fight with a terrible tactics (like in IE games) or by simply not doing any damage to your enemies. And it's not like there's just one single place in these games where you have the option for the sad ending (but dying by the hand of Kangaxx is especially epic, and infuriating after the 57th try or so), it's avaiable pretty much all the time. So I really think that having an ending like that is kinda boring, it's been done literally thousands of times. And that's why I find this topic redundant.
  9. I think it sounds like the game would be missing sandbox aspects. Nonono! The game will be a true sandbox game, it will also be completely linear with invisible walls. One does not have to exclude the other.
  10. Mass Effect 2 was especially terrible in this regard, it was almost impossible to play neutral throughout the game if you wanted to maintain the loyalty both miranda/jack and tali/legion. Or, when I wanted to play a char who started out as a nice guy then slowly regressed to a renegade but still cared about his crew, it was possible but I had to powergame the dialogues completely. Thankfully they fixed it for ME3 where you didn't have to be Mr. Nice Guy or Badass to get the most out of the game. Oh, and I agree with the OP, I like those kinds of quests too, and also be able to speak with both men a second time to hear both versions of the story. Lets say I speak with the prisoner first, hear his version of the story, talk to the guard, hear his version of the story and they don't add up. So I go back to the prisoner and in this example he breaks up with a persuation and admits that he sugar coated his story, at which point I can either convince him to turn himself in or any of the other options.
  11. What if you run into a dungeon with a really narrow door ... the other characters might have to kick and push him to get him inside ... either that or he might get stuck in the only entrance and the characters who rushed in ahead of him will slowly starve to death The party will simply have to lube him/her up with lard, a d20 roll will be required for success, rolling a crit failure will be amusing. I wouldn't mind if they got those bonuses btw, but they should have a penalty to AC (easier to hit) and take a dex penalty as well. Hmmm ... I wonder which store will sell that valuable item ... either that or I finally found a use for that +1 Chain-mail of slipperiness Or.... We could just give an old classic a secondary purpose =)
  12. Why not take it one step further and simply make a MMOFPSRTSCRPG with puzzles?

  14. Sit towards the back of the screen, place a mirror in front of the screen, everyone will be left handed, problem solved.
  15. If I'm gonna have a fat NPC in my party, he needs to be as awesome as MMA fighter Roy Big Country Nelson who's not only fairly fat (although he's gotten slimmer lately), but also one hell of a fighter.

    Movember

The only thing that I got against Movember is that it's in November, which is a month into my yearly "growing a santa's beard for the winter"-cycle. Had it been somewhere between March-September where I don't grow a full beard, I wouldn't mind. But since it tends to get pretty cold here in the winter, I simply will not be without that full beard this year, and the bigger it is in december when the cold hits, the better. I did have a horseshoe last year through Movember, but the beard wasn't big enough for my taste when christmas came around.....
  17. Had this been a 3d game, then I would've loved to be able to fly, but in a 2d game it's harder to implement and it would probably not feel as awesome as in a 3d game either. One of my favourite things in WoW after all was to shape shift my druid into his flight form and just fly around the world and look down upon the world. Spent the first hours of Cataclysm just flying around instead of questing =)
  18. I wouldn't mind it, but I'd really like a couple of sub-races then as well, think hamsters, guinea pigs and otters would be sweet. And let their leader be an old, wise, giant miniature giant space hamster who've truly traveled around the world.
  19. I wouldn't mind seeing a more realistic approach to weapons in P:E, if armors are going to be more realistic, why not the weapons as well? One thing that will be different in P:E compared to RL however, is that the people who will wield all the weapons will be of different sizes. Orlans will probably be smaller than most humans that fight, and aumauas will be larger. While we don't know the sizes of the yet, I'd guess the orlans will be like gnomes/halflings, and I hope the aumaua will be significantly larger than humans (3 meters tall?). If so, the old school DnD 2-handed swords would make sense to have in game as the auamaua could wield them in the same way that humans wield bastard swords. But humans would not be able to wield the 2-hander without severe speed penalties. Also, the variety that weapons would be used in would depend on the size of the character, like in NWN2. It would feel a bit more realistic within the setting, even if I really enjoyed wielding halberds with my gnome warrior in BG...
  20. you should include an "other" option. Anyway, I'd like to have the kind of journal like in the IE games, well written and it gives you a feel for the order you've done things in. In addition to that, I'd like to be able to sort the journal (or a filter) into categories like where I can find all active quests (and completed/failed) and select one to see the journal entries for that quest in particular. When you got 10+ active quests, it's not that fun to find the info you're looking for.
  21. The nice thing with Skyrim for me was that it cured me of my virtual hoarding issues. After a couple of hours I simply gave up picking up everything and started to compare value to weight for the items that I didn't need instead. While a bag of holding might be nice, I dunno if it's going to be needed as long as the economy is balanced.
  22. I'd like a lot of factions and a lot of choices regarding them. I'd also prefer if they're not treated like they were in Skyrim where you could be Master of the thieves guild, the Dark Brotherhood, the Companions and archmage of College of Winterhold at the same time. Becoming the leader of a faction could make sense, but it should prevent you from becoming the leader of any other factions (although you could still join/work for them), as I feel the leader of a guild/faction should be commited to that faction.
  23. Does this mean I get an extra bludgeoning weapon? Yes, but I'd advise against using the extra weapon to parry attacks. Need to have Trolls as a playable race so I can regenerate lost appendages. Time to power game this ****! Or you simply don't parry, I think sneak attacks will be far more appropriate.

  25. Depends completely on the character I create, prefer to mix it up as much as possible between playthroughs and with my party members. (I simply cannot play Minsc without a two-handed sword) But the most frequent are dual wielding, two handed weapons & ranged weapons I guess.
