  1. I would like them to base the intervals between updates on a sequence of numbers within Pi x 2 (a 3=6 days) to keep the updates unpredicable and exciting. If a 0=10, this means updates will be 2-20 days in between. Starting at a random point within Pi would also be preferable to help create this dynamic unpredictability of fun and would encourage us to find out exactly where they started in order to predict when the next update will appear. Either that somewhere around once every month, perhaps more or less depending on the amount on information they have to share at the moment.
  2. If you would be able to have mac/pc/linux on the same disc (like blizzard does with WoW: mac+pc), that would be awesome. The pro for you if it's possible to fit into a disc is that you don't have to bother with different versions on different systems when they're sent out, the pro for us is if we change systems we can still play with the same discs.
  3. They should call it Eternity Online. No wait, that's actually terrible. But something with Eternity in it makes sense considering how much that word is associated with the project. And it fits well with the concept of souls and reincarnation within the game as well.
  4. Joined up when I heard about the KS for P:E, also found out that I kinda missed hanging around in a game forum. Haven't really done that since the old planetbaldursgate forums died.
  5. Cats is a must for this game, and a race of bearded cats makes so much sense that it simply has to be in the game.
  6. I hope he stays there, will make the dungeon pretty unique. What I'm wondering though is, does he wear a cod piece?
  7. I wish I had my old job, as I could've pledged 1k or more then, now I had to settle for a bit less. But I couldn't afford more than I pledged, but still enough for some goodies.
  8. I'd say something like 50%/50%. I can hit you via my bare hand in such a way that you will die. And I can hit you with hilt of my sword in such a way, that you will simply drop unconsious. So, there is absolutely no need to add another 'HP bar'. If you don't believe me - look on D&D Pen and Paper rules. You can attack people with such exotic weapons as sap and still the game operates with only one key resource - classic HP. I look at a lot of MMA, and from that I'd say that it's more like 99.99% unconsious and 0.01% death. If someone dies from a punch, it's far more likely that it's because of the impact to the ground (e.g. the edge of a concrete sidewalk). Although the usual health system isn't too bad IMO, I still think a health+stamina system like this has a lot more potential. Let's just agree to disagree.
  9. Maybe instead of introducing a whole new system there is a way to introduce some special powers/strikes to make people unconsious? What you are saying is basically the same as in order to heal a man from flu to suggest removal of his hands and implanting tentacles instead, that generate anti-flu elements to the body. Unless there's a race in P:E with some very unique racial features, that's not what I mean. Giving you special abilities to knock people unconsious: try punching someone in the face a few times, what's more likely? a) they're knocked unconsious b) they die. Also, it could give different kinds of weapons different options for damage. A club would do more stamina damage and less health damage while a dagger might do little stamina damage and a bit more health damage than the club.
  10. I like concept of stamina+health, makes more sense than a regular health bar which I think is a rather clumsy way of displaying the well being of a character. It also leaves you with a better option to knock people unconsious than beating them down to 1hp as I've seen in some games. And as for tactics in fighting, I can kinda see how if you face e.g. 5 enemies, knock one unconsious, go on and attack the rest or use something like power attack to kill off the unconsious enemy. Assuming you get a huge hit bonus on unconsious enemies, which I think makes sense.
  11. You mean the 10$ DLC that took me roughly 4 hours to play through (I never play new concent very fast) and offered me pretty much zero replayability? It certainly made me quite exited when OE used the term "expansion" instead of "DLC". Altough in fairness, the OWB for FO:NV was a DLC, and an awesome one as well. And OWB helped a) flesh out the world, 2) provide unexpected character development (I have backstory? Cool!!), and iii) worked well either during the main game or after Hover Dam. Not all DLC is bad and I consider the FO:NV DLC to be more like mini-expansions. Agreed. But expansions are still so much more fun, but DLCs vs expanions is kind of indicative of the gaming industry as a whole. More quick fixes often with little content rather than one big fix of stuff a few months down the road.
  12. You mean putting together a triology with an amazing story in the first two singleplayer focused games You've lost me here. I actually like the story of the first two games, and a lot of the sci-fi philosophy in ME generally. What I don't like is the dumbed down dialogue options (top right - you are a good guy, bottom right - you are a renegade badass! Same as DA2, altough you could also be sarcastic with the middle right there), the limited free roaming, the combat in general (take cover or suffer) and some other stuff.
  13. The best suggestion I've heard so far. That and cats. Lots of cats. Cats who are very good at QA preferably.

  15. You mean putting together a triology with an amazing story in the first two singleplayer focused games, and then decides to focus a ton on the previously non-existant multiplayer part of the game, giving the players the least epic ending in the entire triology: the colourful choice of red, green and blue? Even after the DLC. That game made me hate multiplayer in CRPGs so badly that I actually saw the "no multiplayer" in P:E as a huge pro. Sad but true.
  16. I really like the concept of NOT getting xp for killing enemies, but actually getting it for finishing quests instead. I mean, in most games even if you're a good guy, you're still kind of a good guy with a severe homocidial streak. Although it made sense in BG as you were the son of the god of murder...
  17. If it's content they deem worthy of having in the game I'd prefer they either push forward the release or add it in the expansion.
  18. apparently. soon there will probably be a thread with 50k+ posts about knickers and beer....
  19. He might even hade a sidekick named Gluteus Maximus who's kind of an ass...
  20. I like the idea, also would make sense for various people to try and use them as a mean of warfare with various levels of success. Or having a druid spell "summon giant herbivore" with a 25% chance that the beast simply ignores the enemies and starts to eat some plant instead.
  21. I want a lot of of jargon, and I don't mind if I don't get it all in the beginning of the game. To me that's half the fun, starting to understand all the references to factions, gods, places or simply synonyms. It's one of the reasons I enjoyed PS:T so much. Also, although I spent som time years ago playing Morrowind, I didn't remember a thing when I started playing Skyrim. Saw that as a good thing since it was pretty fun to figure out how that universe worked once again. I want new stuff that I haven't seen before, the jargon is a big part of that.
