  1. "You must gather your party before venturing forth." First thing I thought when I read the title...
  2. The remaining amount is most likely due to PayPal pledges. Hopefully those keeps increasing as well
  3. I don't mind it generally, had an alcoholic dwarf in BG which was quite fun. But I also would like to be able to let other companions to the drinking and talking, as I want to be able to RP a character that doesn't drink alcohol at all, and not having to miss out on important stuff because of it.
  4. I'd say there's enough classes now, would rather have a new unique race instead.
  5. Aaaaand paladins are in at 2.7 million
  6. As for PS:T, my favourite moment in any game is when I went to the Sensates and had a discussion about death with Death's Advocate and proved my point by killing myself and then getting up again. Probably couldn't have worked in any other game, but made perfect sense there.
  7. Condering that they will have over 4000 t-shirts to hand out to pledgers alone, which is a pretty big volume, they'll probably have them in different sizes. Makes the most sense anyway.
  8. I have to give it to you, this poll is so amazingly biased that I simply can't take it seriously. It also convinced me that I want a pure money based system with no bartering of wares whatsoever which I'm sure you would be thrilled to have.
  9. Voted yes, but what I really want is a cat companion. Either an equivalent to Dogmeat or something far less dangerous like Sir Pouncealot
  10. One thing I enjoyed in WoW was when I was too tired for any kind of gaming that required me thinking, I usually found myself a nice spot with a tiny chance for a nice item to fish up. While it was kinda pointless compared to other things to do in the game, it still felt really nice. I'd like to imagine my char taking some time off from being a hero and simly enjoy some casual fishing, instead of chilling at the lokal inn. So I'd like to have it in the game, though I wouldn't consider it a priority.
  11. Usually, gaining influence with NPC's though dialogue means agree with everything your companions say, which is quite boring. If I'd compare it to reality, I'd say that your party is kinda like a crew assembled to do a bunch of really weird jobs, with your PC as the boss. Usually in real life, you may like or not like your boss as a person, same goes with respect for their capabilities of doing their job. I've personally, both as a employee and as a manager, had co-workers that I've liked as persons but disliked as co-workers, the opposite and either all positive and negative. I think the same could be applied to a game like this as well. I'll assume that both the PC and the companions are competent at their job, as healer, fighter, mage or similar, as it kinda makes sense. That and the fact that they most likely share roughly similar goals as far as the main story goes, it means that your companions have a reason for sticking with you, no matter of what they think of you personally. Unless you do something they really disagree with, like setting their miniature giant space hamster on fire or killing their parents. If the influence system affects this kind of things then it would be pretty redundant to have. But if influence affects what your companions feels about your PC as a person and not as great hero, then it makes more sense. In real life, if you have a co-worker you share the same views with in general and have a lot in common with, you're probably going to speak a lot more that person than the one that you really have nothing in common with. But you can usually have arguments with people about stuff you either don't have much knowledge of (like diffent religions as an example), or view where you have different opinions (like politics). And if you're a **** about it, then they're usually not gonna like you. But if you express different opinions without treating the other person disrespectfully, they're problably either gonna like you more or remain neutral, depending on their personality. Difference subjects would logically also be of different importance to companions, depending on their personalities. Telling Minsc that you hate hamsters should antagonize him a lot more that saying that you actually like those cute little kobolds. I'd like to see something like this in the game, generally you should be able to gain influence with your companions without having to agree with everything they say, assuming you're respectful to them. Then I would also like to see difference kinds of personalities which means that some might be more like Kreia while others really don't care.
  12. Make it like it was in PS:T, tons of dialogue with various options that are not voiced, then have important parts of the game voiced, and some banter and reactions to commands etc.
  13. This is some I'd love to see as well, there's pretty few games, if any, where your race has made any difference frequently during dialogues. Usually you see racism towards everyone else but your character, I'd love to have to prove why my human should be allowed to enter a dwarven city, or having my dwarven companion speak up for me when it happens.
  14. Pledged as much as I could afford the first day, the only thing I really wanted was a Mac port which I got. So although there's stuff I want more or less in the game, I can't pledge more unless I win the lottery.
  15. I think it's a great initiative, in the long run it'll lessen the need for publishers and help games that aren't very mainstream to get funded. Plus, 5% of the profits once the game has been released seems pretty reasonable.
  16. Love the update, have lots of options for a non-combat character is really something I want. As for the Fallout (excluding FO3 where you could max everything way too fast), I usually put points in Small guns/guns to make my charcter capable of defending him/herself in case of a violent situation, while spending the rest on non violent skills., kind of a diplomatic assasin. The flexibility of that system is something I really liked. Hopefully that kind of flexibility can be achieved while having classes with unique pros/cons.
  17. 28, and a tie between Planescape: Torment and Baldur's Gate II.
  18. Only that it's perfectly capable of playing on assuming the comp is good enough. The only reason I had windows for as long as I did was because it was the only PC system that had the majority of all games. Eventually I said f*** it and got a Mac anyway as it fits all my needs better than a Windows comp, except for the gaming that is. And not having to have 2 different system on your computer, one for gaming and one for everything else is pretty damn nice. Also, there are lots of Linux users here, including ones that's pledged to Kickstarter, so to call them "a small meaningless user base" is pretty ignorant.
  19. Personally, modding tools is something I really want, so I really hope it'll happen. Adds a lot of replayability to the game. As for multiplayer, nothing I care about either way, if it's in then I'd prefer if it's like in Baldur's Gate, used to have a friend or a few to join in while you play the game. Multi language support isn't something I personally need, but I think it makes sense to include at some point, especially if Obsidian intends to do sequels. The more fans you can attract the better. And it would be interesting to know how many of the people here who go "if you don't know English then you suck and don't deserve to play this game", that are bi-/multilingual. If the only language you know is English then congrats, you don't need multi language support. But you're still monolingual just like a lot of the people who would benefit from multi language support, only difference is that your only language happens to be English. I guess my point is that if you're from a place where you're pretty much only exposed to your native language (through school and media etc) then learning a second language isn't as obvious as it is for someone like me (Sweden). Add then that a lot of games are translated to most of these languages already and have been so for some time, and you have a bunch of gamers who know very little English but would love to pay money for playing this game.
  20. Sweden, dangerously close to Denmark.
  21. Would love to see this, especially a weapon with a soul attached, like a Lilarcor kind of weapon.
  22. I think we need a poll to decide that.
  23. I totally want this as well. Generally speaking, I want a good variety of companions, both in terms of personality and morality.
