  1. Ooh, that thread was pure brilliance.
  2. The difference being that the more extreme Democrat base does not hold, unlike extremist Republicans, completely and utterly insane views.
  3. No. Unless you mean to say there's a lot of observational data of Elvis after he died. I think you misunderstand what I'm talking about, and I probably didn't make it any better by joking about ghosts. What I see is a plan, a greater purpose, when I look at certain things. The majesty of Yosemite, or even the smile on my child's face, says to me that this is clearly more than just a matter of happenstance. But this is very individualistic, I don't expect you to look at my child and see the same thing, you will just see it as genetics. That is why I separate faith from religion by the way, I see them as two very different things. My faith makes me more tolerant of religion, but religion doesn't give me faith. I see what you're saying, but that's not 'observational data' in any sense of the words.
  4. No. Unless you mean to say there's a lot of observational data of Elvis after he died.
  5. Actually, originally he was envisioned as being an unpopular nerd. Only later did Marvel turn Spiderman into a wisecracking ass.
  6. DA's combat was terrible. Between lame abilities, and fighting the same battles over and over again, DA's systems are something I don't want to see in any RPG.
  7. I thought dragon age did it badly, I don't want to see stuff stuck to my back apparently by magnetism (Although if you're in a zoomed out view like P.E it probably wont matter as much) Skyrim did it better for one handed stuff, as did mount and blade, though they still had 2 handed swords stuck to your back as if by magic I've mentioned it before, but I'll add it again (if only to post another great picture of a Landsknecht) : Resting great weapons on the shoulder is the best way I reckon. Looks great. Amusing will follow.
  8. Why are cars designed only for a steering wheel? I really want a car that controls with the arrow keys because only in that way can I recreate that feeling of leaning left and right with my body when making sharp curves on that accolade driving game. Also, only the hardcore master race drives with pedals and stickshift. I want to be able to relax.
  9. Jetpac is a true classic. It was on the C64 and the Spectrum, as well.
  10. Other monolith games like Blood and Shogo are up, so... it's not so unlikely... And maybe we bring it up because we just want it NOLF was published by Sierra, which means Activision must own its IP. And that, of course, suggests NOLF will never show up on GOG.
  11. Things have gone somewhat off topic, somewhat impolite, and almost 500 posts of discussion seem enough. Let's give the topic a rest.
  12. He's saying that blodhemn is a textbook example of sexism, not that academia is openly sexist.
  13. Sheep's cheese is where it's at. I'm going to go ahead and recommend Portuguese cheeses. Serra cheese, Ilha cheese cured for 9 months, Serpa cheese, Nisa Cheese. The one thing missing in Portugal are blue cheeses.

  15. I already have and played Baldur's Gate several times. I don't need to pay for a worse version of the same game all over again.
  16. In the previous thread: Hello everybody, among the fine folks in the kickstarter comments we discussed a possibility to help Obsidian increase the funding of the game a little bit. We actually talked about an idea that showed up earlier on Kickstarter during the funding of the adventure game Leisure Suite Larry and became a tradition for adventure kickstarters (Want the whole story? Check this). We think this a great idea and we know, Obsidian fans are some of the most passionate gamers in the world. So we decided to start THE OBSIDIAN ORDER OF ETERNITY. How do I become a member? Actually, it's quite simple: Upgrade your pledge by 8 $ and you're in. Yes, it's really that simple. You don't have to pass a test, you don't have to choose a specific tier. The Obsidian Order is open to everyone as long as s/he adds this small fee of 8 $. If you've done so simply expand your Kickstarter-Username with "- Obsidian Order" and start commenting on Kickstarter. Proudly demonstrate your membership to this very special order of the most devoted Obsidian fans and help spreading the word about our movement among all backers of Project Eternity! Why exactly 8 $? Because 8 stands for Eternity. What do you get in return? The feeling of being a special fan amongst some already extraordinary people. Yes, it's a matter of fandom, passion and love. There is no physical or digital reward in it. Don't feel impelled to do so, this is just our way to demonstrate our love for that kind of CRPGs. Some additional words Backers of the 10.000 $ tier who are technically inable to increase their pledge are honorary members from the beginning, because they've already beaten the system. You guys really got it. So, no reason to feel sad, Notch. So now, who stands with us? Farudan, Caretaker of the Obsidian Order http://northharbour....der-of-eternity
  17. How unnerving it must be for Adam always having to remember not to pick his nose,
  18. Anything stopping you from posting here every once in a while until that gets sorted out?
  19. They don't care about those things. They'll spend it all on tabletop games and larping gear.
  20. Don't forget it depends on paypal numbers, as well. So maybe 52500 has already been achieved.
