The difference between action/adventure and RPG is choice and consequence. Action/adventure generally has little to none, usually if it has any its a single choice at the end of the game. RPGs allow you to make choices and the world reacts to those choices.

Romulan, not Vulcan.

Nope and now you have to pay to play used games or play borrowed games, same as if you are licensing the games instead of purchasing them. Ps: Seriously, it's 10 bucks a month? Can't wait to retcon and win a XboxLive vs PSnetwork argument. Its 10 bucks a month if you do recurring monthly payments, I think if you buy a year in advance its 60. Its still not worth it for people who don't play multiplayer though. If I could have done $5 monthly payments I would have done it to access Netflix and the cloud saves though. The Wii netflix interface is garbage, and being able to play on my xbox upstairs and downstairs without having to copy my saves to a thumbstick was nice.

Will I be able to watch netflix on it without paying microsoft 10 bucks a month?

So does anyone else just not give a damn about Clara on Dr Who? I find Matt Smith isn't as interesting without Amy and Rory to play off either.

No particular order Master of Puppets - Metallica Destiny - Stratovarius Back in Black - AC/DC Endgame - Rise Against Dethalbum - Dethklok Four Seasons - Antonio Vivaldi (ok, not an album, but generally collected as one) Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood - Volbeat Somewhere Back in Time (Best of 1980-1989) - Iron Maiden Steamboy Official Soundtrack - Steve Jablonsky The Arockalypse - Lordi I generally throw entire discographies on my phone and hit shuffle so I don't usually listen to albums, so that was actually pretty hard.

I like what BG2 did with companions in that they never really joined you. They would tag along if you wanted, but aside from Jaheira, Minsc, Imoen, and to a lesser degree, Yoshimo, they weren't really attached personally to the PC.

For sequels they should juat go with the Enders Shadow series. I found them much better.

That was the reason the Todd and the Book of Pure Evil guys used IndiGoGo. People were asking why they didn't use Kickstarter because its higher profile, they said Kickstarter sucked for Canadians.

Election in BC today. NDP started the election with a 21 point lead in the polls over the Liberals, narrowed to a 9 point lead as of today. Final results had them trailing by 5 points. Widespread anger at the governing Liberals lead to a 5 seat gain. Record low of 48% turnout. Obviously a majoity of those who didn't vote were NDP supporters (young people)

I know personally the brand has declined, mostly through EA's meddling. When a new Bioware game is announced, rather than immediately thinking "Sweet, a new Bioware game" I think "Wait, which studio?" Though I hear a bunch of the Not-Actually-Bioware studios are back to their original names so that will help.

People have been talking about people getting sick of comic movies since the 90s. As long as they keep making good ones, people will still see them.

WTF, way to go awesome new quote system. I was stoked for EMH from the beginning so I was able to watch in order each week. Tiny Ant Man being shot on an arrow by Hawkeye to jump off, grow, and punch Baron Strucker at the last second was awesome. That move alone is reason enough to include Ant Man in an Avengers sequel.

Earths Mightiest Heroes season one is the best portrayal of Ant Man so far IMO. Him and Hawkeye were my favorite characters in that. Yellowjacket in season 2 just angered me. I liked it. I never really liked the character, but that was a cool snippet.

Stop it. I hate agreeing with you. The best thing about BG1 is it set up BG2, which is in my opinion, Bioware's best game, and I've liked pretty much everything else they have made more than BG1. That said, I did like BG1. I'm personally happy with Bioware doing Star Wars games. SWTOR was hindered by sticking with tried and true MMO gameplay that after 9 years of pretty much every MMO using the same mechanics, just felt stale and boring. Grinding monsters and abilities with cooldowns, it got old REAL fast, I just wanted to motor around for the story, but the grind got in the way of that. Bioware can be forgiven though, since Edmonton will likely be making the SW games, not Austin, and Edmonton is the studio many of us know and love. I just hope we don't see the damned dialogue wheel in every game, because its a pile of poodoo.

Anyone manage to see the Ant Man test footage when it was leaked a while back? I think Hank needs to show his eyes, but otherwise it was pretty badass.

I think having a Magic vs Technology conflict would be perfect for Iron Man.

The way they handled Mandarin in the animated movie was great. He was a chinese warlord and sorceror who's spirit was bound to 4 rings and a bracelet each ring controlling one of the 4 elements and the bracelet commanding them. I think making him magic based is a good move considering all his other villains are guys in armor. With Scarlet Witch in Avengers 2 and a Dr Strange movie in the works, its not like they can't have magic. Aside, the new Gatsby looks pretty good, despite the book being rubbish. The issue IMO is that with the Movie franchise, they can't get away with technogibberishing magic out of the way. For a character like the Mandarin of the comics, they'd need to take a lot longer to build him up. It seems more like Tony would be playing a mind game against the Mandarin, not much punching or shooting involved. Great for a novel, comic, or even a TV series, but doesn't seem like it'd fit well within a movie format. Admittedly I haven't seen the animated film you've stated, but that's a far different universe than the one found in the films. And even then animation generally allows you to suspend disbelief at magic being tossed around much more easily than on celluloid. But still, they have a Dr Strange movie in the works, and if they try to explain away magic scientifically in a movie about sorcerors and demons and such, you're just going to piss people off. So magic will exist in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, there's no reason to save it until phase 3.

I think its kind of funny the role reversal that would be. Obsidian, being the successor to Black Isle, independently developing an RPG that would likely be produced by Bioware and released under their label as an in-house developer for a major publisher.

http://www.superherohype.com/news/articles/176749-warner-bros-plans-a-dungeons-a-dragons-reboot Warner Brothers rebooting Dungeons and Dragons. I wish someone would do either Dragonlance or some sort of Forgotten Realms movie instead of a generic D&D movie. Dragonlance with a Lord of the Rings budget would be epic.

Update #52: Monk!
Oerwinde replied to Darren Monahan's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
So now that the mechanic side of monks are out of the way, can we get a blurb on monks lore-wise? Reasons for the berzerker mechanics, their role in society, etc?- 242 replies

Update #52: Monk!
Oerwinde replied to Darren Monahan's topic in Pillars of Eternity: Announcements & News
Dyrwood was originally a colony of Aedyr right? wouldn't their cultural styles be closer to Aedyran(or whatnot)? Or is that more of the style of the indegenous Glanfathans and we would still see a lot of Aedyr style clothing among the upper classes and such?- 242 replies

It helps that it was only 15 bucks too. People are willing to take a risk on that, not so much on 60 bucks.
