  1. Give us something to spend our loot on. I hate how in most games about 2/3 through the game there is nothing else worth buying, but you get ever increasing amounts of treasure. Even if its stuff like helping a peasant start a business that we most likely wont see come to fruition, but you get some reputation points or something.
  2. So apparently the conservative government here in Canada has included Cyprus style bank account seizures as part of the new budget as a measure against possible bank failure, and supposedly the EU is adopting it as law as well.
  3. http://m.facebook.com/WorldsOfMagic?id=471105742948914&_rdr#!/WorldsOfMagic?v=photos&cps&album=a.493660967360058.1073741825.471105742948914&__user=530125612 Worlds of Magic, a "spiritual successor" to Master of Magic posted its first alpha screenshots.
  4. This made me go look at what Warren Ellis has been doing lately. Since he shut down the Bad Signal I haven't kept up. Seems Freakangels has a big slipcased collection of all 6 volumes I may want to get. I read the first couple issues of Black Summer, will have to snag the trade of that. Its a shame that it seems most of Avatar Press' books have talented writers with lackluster artists. I'd like to see what kind of book Warren Ellis and Ed McGuinness would do together. @Orogun01 What about a book that the stupidity of the characters is the entire point? In that case I recommend Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E.
  5. The last few trades I've picked up were Ex Machina, Saga, Fables, and some Atomic Robo. Atomic Robo needs to be an animated series. Its like a science-based comedy Hellboy.
  6. I'm confused... is he "ribs-masher," or "rib-smasher"? Smashing ribs and mashing ribs are two completely different things. u_u I believe his rantings mention smashing ribs, so I would bet Rib-smasher.
  7. I was registered, but had to log in using an email I stopped using 7 years ago.
  8. graphically I dig it. Don't remember really enjoying Divine Divinity and never played the others though. Will take a look when it goes on sale after release.
  9. My biggest problem with Snow White and the Huntsman was there must not have been money in the budget for some black hair dye. They even refer to her hair as raven black, but it was clearly brown. The little things matter.
  10. Booted up my GOG.com Master of Magic yesterday, and got to wishing someone would basically make the exact same game with a fresh coat of paint and add a bit of map improvements. Looked up possible stuff and found these guys. Supposedly their Master of Magic type game is going to get a kickstarter campaign in what looks like the next month or two. The concept art looks promising.
  11. Blu-Ray, so no 3d. As for using short/dwarf actors, probably because decent ones who fit the part and don't look funny walking/are proportionate are in (pardon the pun) short supply.
  12. Saw the Hobbit finally. The whole part at the beginning with bilbo and frodo was unnecessary. And the whole movie was pretty much the party running from stuff. I've never read the book, but after finding out they weren't being pursued by orcs in the book, I don't think it was necessary in the movie. Otherwise I enjoyed it.
  13. I keep hoping they do a single player Warcraft RPG.
  14. Missed the kickstarter, so nice.
  15. God Bless America. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
  16. This. Achievements actually having in-game benefits are something I'm a fan of. Bioware did that in the first Mass Effect game, I don't know if they did elsewhere. For example, getting the achievement for kills with the assault rifle unlocked the assault rifle for other classes. I thought that was genius. Otherwise I don't give a crap. I don't mind achievements on Xbox because of Gamerscore. Its something I can compare with my friends, achievements add to my gamerscore. When Bioware had them for the PC version of Dragon Age, I didn't give a crap because it didn't do anything. Steam achievements are even more useless because they're buried so you can't even really see them.
  17. The Dark Triad: Dragon's Death Looks interesting.
  18. Well I find this fascinating. How exactly is EA (under Riccietello since 2007 specifically) the #1 worst employer? I mean, worst game publisher is certainly a perspective I could see a gamer having as they have their right to make judgments on the quality of games released. Furthermore, in light of JR resigning because the company's financial performance underachieved, what sort of changes do you anticipate happening? http://consumerist.com/2012/04/04/congratulations-ea-you-are-the-worst-company-in-america-for-2012/ Well, EA always was doing a great job at destroying jobs. Hire and Fire, like a well oiled machine. Cynics might say "That's just the way it is dude", but to me, this is incompetent management. There's always a way to keep devs busy in interim cycles. Either way, some recent EA releases were total failures. ME3, Dead Space 3, Syndicate, SimCity etc. were all creatively bancrupt products and as such, EA deserves all the blame they can get. I don't understand the ME3 hate. The crappy ending didn't invalidate the other 40 hours of awesome game.
  19. Rise of the Guardians. Possibly my favorite Dreamworks flick. Alec Baldwin was awesome as Santa and the visuals were great. Hit all the right emotional beats, just a very well crafted film. Not Wreck it Ralph good, but good.
  20. Am I the only one who found Brandon Sanderson's WoT books way better than Jordans? At least they have been the best since book 2. (haven't read the last one yet)
  21. It looks both more and less advanced than Civ IV. Speaking of which, did anyone do an Alpha Centauri mod for that?
  22. As a browser based social game, we are probably not your target audience.
  23. Storm of Zehir wasn't bad, but it was more of a spiritual successor to Icewind Dale than a real expansion for NWN2. I think it would have beenbetter recieved if it had come before Mask of the Betrayer.
  24. Isn't the education assistance the main selling point for recruitment?
