I like achievements on Xbox because it contributes to my gamerscore. So even if the gamerscore is mostly pointless, its something I can compare with friends and such who don't play the same games as me. Steam achievements I find pointless.

Turns out one of my PCI-E slots was shot. Possibly why my 9800s were feeling so sluggish lately.

Especially if there are other sales around where you could get CIV 5 GOTY and Gods and Kings for that money. Official Steam keys of course. For that price I would get it. I was kinda peeved the expansion with the discount was the same price as the base game.

I got most of what I wanted in the autumn sale, but snagged the Monkey Island Spec. Ed. pack, Tropico 4, and LA Noire this go. Almost snagged Civ V, but wasn't quite ready to drop 13 bucks on the GotY edition. Civ IV was just so much better. Hopefully Civ VI will continue the trend and the even numbered ones will be the good ones.

I hope future films actually feature the Batcave. After waiting for for the 3rd film to finally see it only for it to just be the cave from the first one with a rising platform and a computer desk was kinda disappointing.

well, that settles it then. NCIX has local pickup so I can avoid shipping and returns would be a lot easier, so I'll go with the 7950 there. Thanks everyone.

Finally got around to seeing Dark Knight Rises. A couple things bugged me(Bruce abandoning the mission, Alfred leaving), but overall a really good movie. Avengers is still my top superhero flick of the year though.

Ok, so now my question is should I get it 10 bucks cheaper at NCIX, or go for the free games at newegg. The reviews seem pretty angry that if there is something wrong, the games count against your refund. Unless they only do it for refunds, not exchanges.

Santa was pretty good to my kids this year. Daughter currently unable to part from her Leappad 2, and the boy is loving the wrapping paper and his broom.

I work with two sikhs and a buddhist, all of them celebrate Christmas. Its so far beyond being a Christian holiday. I'm an athiest and I celebrate. So Merry Christmas to all, Muslim, Jew, Druze, whatever you are.

So my SLI 9800 GTs are starting to show their age, and I'm looking to spend some of my christmas money this year on a new card. I miss the good old days of Bigger # = Better card, so I have a hard time figuring out what the best bang for my buck is. Basically I'm looking to not spend much more than 300 bucks and I'd like to get at least 3-4 years out of it. Any advice?

My problem is that's like exactly the kind of game I want. Though Forsaken Fortress sounds like it will do a decent job of it, it looks more like post apocalyptic sims. Building and managing a city/town appeals to me more than a house. I sadly just don't have faith in the people doing it.

Could have been a good game, and was for the first bits, and shouldn't be lumped in with the rest. It should be. It is the perfect example of a potentially great game which was butchered halfway in development, dumbed down, and then sold to the masses with the Black Isle brand on it. Lionheart basically summarizes what happened to Interplay when Herve took over in a nutshell. Lionheart is an example of inexperienced developers not really knowing what they were doing. It was suposed to be an action RPG but the forum community pushed for more story amd they mamaged tp pack it pretty full at the start. Problem was they assumed RPG players would save some quests for later rather than doing everything possible as soon as it was possible, leading to the first half of the game being almost BG in quality, andthe second half was like diablo without fun combat.

Forsaken Fortress sounds awfully like what BISINO is trying to raise money to put up a forum for.

Thinking of grabbing Sengoku and Hearts of Iron 3. I'm a big fan of Crusader Kings 2, EUIII, and Victoria 2. Sengoku is only 6 bucks and the HOI3 bundle is 15 bucks.

I hope it comes to fruition, I hope it is good, and if both of those happen, I hope it succeeds. That said, I will not be supporting it.

If you robbed the bank didn't you go there in the day and it was closed and surrounded by guards, and didn't open for a day or so while the investigation was ongoing? That would be the kind of thing I'd like to see in PE.

I like the idea of a post apocalyptic strategy RPG where you have to gather resources and help your community thrive... make it an MMO and I lose all interest.
