  1. Weird. I guess (with my corporate head on) it makes sense to utilise the IP in the World building once you've done it for the game. Plus, maybe if it gets going you'd take inspiration from what was happening in game online and dramatise it. Could get the fans on both angles worked up. I think that's exactly what they're doing.
  2. Monsanto is the worst compny in america, hands down. Produce products that self replicate naturally and distribute the copies using the wind, then when farms are found to have traces of it, sue the farmer into bankruptcy. When farms actively try not to use their product, sue the people who allow them not to into bankruptcy for "fascilitating patent infringement". Stack the supreme court with your employees to ensure you can't lose. Profit.
  3. Its a little more sinister than just cooking the books. The studios own various companies under their umbrella that can be used. For instance, if they own their own marketing and distribution companies, they can jack up the prices charged by either, reducing the net profits due to expenditures on marketing and distribution, but that money is paid to themselves, so they aren't in fact losing anything. The production loses money, but the studio itself does not. Its why actors ask for % of the gross rather than % of the profit, because if a movie made for 100 million and makes 400 million cost 300 million to distribute, it made no profit.
  4. We have a lot on series record. Vikings, Castle, Lost Girl, Once Upon a Time, Supernatural, Dr Who, Revolution, Hells Kitchen, Celebrity Apprentice, Comic Book Men, that's what me and thw wife watch together. I also have my Wrasslin and she has all her ABC spark tween shows.
  5. Word is Guy Gardner is going over to the Red Lanterns. I haven't really kept up with the GL stuff since they killed Mogo, but GG is my favorite lantern and his brief stint as a red back around Blackest Night was pretty awesome, so I might pick it up again.
  6. Hmm, maybe I should go back and reread the fifth comic in the series because I thought he did unleash his full power on the Hulk. Even going so far as to say (paraphrasing); "so this is what it feels like to finally let go". I agree about his inaction, it made me laugh that he spent 29 hours standing in his doorway trying to decide to get involved or not. isn't Sentry agoraphobic? Anyway, wikipediaed WWH, seems I was compressing it in my head. The satellite blasts that take down Hulk I was remembering as Sentry's doing. Seems they both spent their energy to the point of going to human form, then Banner just punched sentry out.
  7. I ordered two more trades of Atomic Robo from Amazon almost a month ago and they still haven't shipped. I should also get around to reading my trade of Fairest.
  8. I just had the Hulk ruined for me for the same reason. I recently read the World War Hulk series and by the end of that the Hulk single handedly defeats the most powerful being in the Marvel universe, Sentry. I would argue Sentry defeated himself. He brought his full power to bear on himself and Hulk, taking himself out and reverting Hulk to Banner, who gets up. Hulk can withstand pretty much anything, but he couldn't dish out enough to take down Sentry.
  9. It took me 6 months to read the first half of Game of Thrones, but at some point something clicked and now its my favorite series.
  10. New Man of Steel trailer. I don't get the Zack Snyder hate.
  11. Matt Smith isn't bad, he's no David Tennant though. Canada its easy to follow. Christopher Eccleston season was on CBC on Mondays I think, then the first David Tennant season went to Space on Saturdays and Dr Who has been there ever since. Super easy with a PVR. I tried watching some classic Who on Netflix, but its really hard to get into. On a related note, I hope if they ever get around to continuing Torchwood, they keep it to smaller arcs. Children of Earth was awesome, Miracle Day should have been 6 episodes instead of 12. Unrelated, I hope History gets more stuff like Vikings. I'm really enjoying it, and it makes more sense on the channel than more Pawn Stars spinoffs.
  12. Games publishers need to look at what movie studios do. They put out the big 100+ million dollar movies hoping for success, but if they fail due to overspending (looking at you John Carter, probably the only movie to make nearly 300 million and be considered a failure) they are subsidized by the cheap comedies and such that don't gross as much but cost a lot less to make. So if they put out a bunch of 20 million dollar budget games that make 40 million, the 100 million dollar one that makes 85 million isn't such a huge problem.
  13. I'm going to try to get my copy of Slither signed at FanExpo this weekend. Saw him on the Nerdist, seems like a pretty laid back fun guy too.
  14. I don't know how many trailers for RPGs I've watched that show nothing but shots of pretty combat graphics and animation and I sit there yelling at the screen "why can't you show the dialogue system?! What does the inventory screen look like? Can't they just show the characters walking through town? Is this game all combat?!"
  15. I don't get it, aren't saves basically files that store variables? I would think adding map #s and xy coordinates to the rest wouldn't be that hard.
  16. You would be surprised. I started on the old interplay boards at 16. Am 31 now.
  17. Brief look at the City UI and some combat animations. Dead on copy of MoM for the UI. Me likey.
  18. I liked playing with a variety of wizard types. One favorite was warlord with 9 life books, allowing Champion experience level units with the combo of Warlord and the Crusade enchantment.
  19. Easy doesn't mean its not fun though. And it was really the endgame that was easy. I don't get how that guy in the video has brand new recruited heroes facing basilisks and such and not getting touched.
  20. It was essentially a fantasy clone of Civilization with turn-based tactical combat in which you or your hero units could cast a variety of spells along with however you move your troops and such. This shows off a good deal of gameplay.
  21. I agree with alanschu that some of the D&D aspects were taking too much hold, especially with the Dark Elves. Some of the things in the magic system I don't think make sense, but a lot of others seem to like it so oh well. Hopefully the final product has that MoM feel too it. One thing that would really help that along is music. Light-hearted overworld music, with some bombastic combat music.
  22. So its an insult to call someone normal?
  23. I really hope this one works. There have been several attempts at spiritual successors to Master of Magic, none of which really came close to recapturing the feel or addictiveness of the original.
  24. One problem I have with quoting is if I try to only quote part of a post it removes the quote box.
  25. I played a Sith Warrior at launch, quit around level 32. didn't want to play with people either but kept missing out on flashpoints and such, which IMO were the fun part. I really wish it had been a single player game. The gameplay by that point had gotten boring, and I wanted to bring more than one companion.
