By the end I wanted to stab someone every time the theme music played.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. I had forgotten there was no subtitles and the baddies run around so quick its hard to target them.

Finally started watching Breaking Bad on Netflix, into season 3 so far. Did anyone else want to punch Skyler at this point?

Really? Huh, he was the first melee character I had used and I found his variety of hits pretty useful. He was also a better mage than most of the runners I hired. He was better than that elf guard I brought for an extra bug zapper. I think I'll go decker next run through. I also didn't use many riggers, but I noticed quite a few air ducts for them to take advantage of. I think I mostly got schooled by the combat mechanics with him. He hit with his melee attacks a total of twice, and there were too many bugs hitting people for 1 damage directly after them getting hit for 20 that his healing spells were mostly useless. For someone who supposed to be like thousands of years old with some cool magic sword and such, a 65% chance to hit random cultist #3 seems pretty weak. He was my only character to die and losing him actually made me more efficient in combat. I played a decker, the matrix stuff wasn't bad, but there isn't a lot of it. I found I was almost always 1 point too low in my decking skills to take advantage of stuff too, so make sure its high if you want to make use of it. I'd say thats my one complaint about the game, not enough class/ability related stuff. There's really only 3 or so parts where a decker would come in handy, and any of the points where you need one, one is provided for you. Think I'm going to go with a shaman for my next play. They seem really interesting.

I have been indifferent about Days of Future Past since Matthew Vaughn announced his departure. First Class was so good I was hoping they would use it to reboot the franchise, after Last Stand and Wolverine pooped all over the franchise.

Considerig how much the built up Harlequin, he was pretty useless in combat.

He's at his best when he's vulnerable. Like when Magneto took out his adamantium and then, for a little while before it went nutso, even his healing was reduced. That's what's good in this movie is the vulnerability. Even the part I mention in the spoiler is done well in that respect. Something I hadn't hought of... does his healing factor keep his blood cells from degradig, or is adamantium porous? Because how does his body make new blood cells with his bones coated?

It's tamer than the time he survived a nuclear blast. I seriously dislike the character and the amount of attention it gets. That made me so angry. He was a GD skeleton and still was able to regenerate. I liked how he was handled in the Ultimate comics durig the early run. Got hit by a semi and took the better part of a week to get back to full strength. Emphasizing its a healing factor, not regeneration.

The S.T.A.L.K.E.R. games are 75% off right now. No package deal but all 3 together run for about as much as the Gamersgate deal during the Steam Summer Sale.

To be fair though, everything I've heard says DM2 was better than the first, so it may have deserved its money. Grown Ups 2 on the other hand...

Doesn't help that until Shadowrun Returns launches for android, Ouya has no games worth buying.

Didn't realize that until redoing the whole damned thing. Would be nice for them to tell you that.

Ok, hating the save system now. I went into the matrix to ID the Ripper, came out, went back in, came back out, and assumed that since I had switched scenes 4 times, that I was safe to shut down and go make dinner. Booted it up again now and I haven't even gone in the first time.

The reason for that is probably beacause both arms are body parts, so technically when buying an arm you can choose where to put it. Eh, I was still expecting to drag and drop it into the appropriate slot, however. I was expecting it to work like every other store and just click the "+" Anyway, I'm enjoying the hell out of it. I wish it wasn't so linear and I wish we could save properly, but hopefully thats something they can add in in a sequel if this does well. Now that they have the editor and much of the props and models built it should be cake to do a sequel, just a matter of funds. At this point I'd gladly drop another 15-20 on another kickstarter.

Did you read how much money the British monarchy generate for the UK? The tourism thing isn't everything either. The private lands held by the royal family generate hundreds of millions of dollars annually. They then donate the entirety of it to the UK, and their expenses are paid out of that money. The royal family ddoesn't actually cost UK taxpayers a dime.

I'm annoyed they changed the opening credits of the Newsroom. The new ones are boring and the music is bland. I know its nitpicky, but I really liked the theme music for season 1.

My Blood Dragon doesn't work. It loads into the intro movie, and the tracking bar goes back and forth for about 7 minutes and I ctrl-alt-del my way out of the game.

Anyone else bothered that every time you run a new game on steam, it tries to install directx? It would be nice if there was a flag to show whether its installed or not so it can skip that part.

I'm getting the idea this universe is starting to get too big, though. I hope it doesn't branch out into series of comic books and shows that affect the main cinematic series. I hate homework for movies. From what I gather, the tv series will mostly deal with D list and original characters. If anything, you will need to watch the movies to get everything from the tv series

The last day of the sale is always a recap day. You know La Mulana and Of Orcs and Men are both on sale right? They have been for the whole sale. They're 50% off right now. They just haven't gone on a daily deal for 75% off or whatever. There are a lot more games on sale than just the daily specials that you see on the main page every day. Take a look. Rise of the Argonauts is so worth 2.50 if you have a gamepad.

Andrew Garfield being in character as Spider-Man was pretty awesome too.

Lots of big news from ComicCon today. The sequel to Man of Steel sounds like a Batman vs Superman thing. With them using a Dark Knight Returns quote to introduce it. Dawn of the Planet of the Apes apparently looks pretty badass. Looks like a revamp of Battle for the Planet of the Apes, with Caesar ruling his ape society with a wife and child. Avengers 2 villain revealed as Ultron. Sentinels were shown off for X-Men: Days of Future Past. Guardians of the Galaxy showed some footage which is cool considering they are only 10 days into shooting. They're using in-movie excuses to justify bad design decisions on the RoboCop remake. The Lego movie was confirmed as part CG, part stop motion, which is probably why it looks so good. The director actually used some of his own lego sets from when he was a kid. Apparently Amazing Spider-Man 2 is setting up the next 2 movies, which will eventually lead to the Sinister Six. Basically lots of cool stuff.

I played it during the free weekend a couple months back. I couldn't figure out how to attack. You would think in a first person combat game it would be left-mouse, but no. I gave up after 15 minutes because it was just terrible.
