Almost a quarter of men 'admit to rape in parts of Asia'
Oerwinde replied to Walsingham's topic in Way Off-Topic
As an aside, the 4 indian men who gang raped and murdered the girl on the bus andbeat her male friend half to death have been sentenced to death. -
If that game was trying to come off as Dragon Age with Witcher combat, it succeeded.

Mike is such a douche this season of Almighty Johnsons. For those of you who don't know what Almighty Johnsons is its a New Zealand show about a family of norse gods in New Zealand and their adventures when they find out their youngest brother is Odin. The norse gods took mortal form and were chased out of Scandinavia and found refuge in NZ, where they are reborn into new host bodies every generation when the offspring of a god and goddess turns 21. When Odin is reborn he must seek out Frig, because if he dies before finding her, hiswhole family dies, and if he finds her, the gods can re-enter Asgard and have their full powers restored.

The features on the blu-ray made me angrier because the writers and director actually thought they had done Khan right.

Star Trek Into Darkness. I really enjoyed it, but Benedict Cumberbatch was awful as Khan. Disnt look like him, didn't act like him, just really bad casting. Casting whitey mcwhite as an Indian was kind of a **** move too.

Whatever your opinion of Lee, whether he took half the credit for Kirby's work(Which is what Kirby claimed in the 90s I believe) or was one half of a dynamic duo, Marvel wouldn't have been Marvel without Stan Lee. Watched Green Hornet today, enjoyed it. Seth Rogen and the guy who played Kato had good chemistry I thought, and I love villains that are horribly deadly and dangerous but don't act it, like the Mayor in Buffy the Vampire Slayer.

Yeah, that was Jack Kirby's story too. I guess it was too unflattering to put in the doc? It just said he applied for the job and got it.

With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story, a documentary about Stan Lee. I was glad they spent a lot of time talking about Jack Kirby. They left out some important stuff though, like how his uncle was the EIC or whatever for timely, which is how he got the job.

Cloud Atlas At first it just seemed a jumbled mess, but as it went on and the editing started making sense and the story started to click together I enjoyed it more and more andby the end when everything had played out and all the connections made sense I had decided it was one of the best movies I have seen. Its really a beautiful piece of work.

Reconciling different perspectives on grieving
Oerwinde replied to alanschu's topic in Way Off-Topic
When I lost my grandfather to lung cancer it had been a long drawn out thing, so when he went, while I was very sad, I was comforted by the fact that he wasn't suffering anymore, so I didn't really show anything outwardly and got some criticism for it. What really sucked is that I was trying to move past it and everyone's constant sympathies kept bringing it back up and it just made me angry with everyone for showing they cared for my feelings, which just made me feel like a ****. -
Time has a wonderful way of making differences irrelevant. There are tons of examples in history where two sides eventually unite for the greater good. It's already happened in the US. We have a bunch of non-denominational mosques in my area alone. that's what happens when you live in a country where its illegal to kill people because they are a different faith rather than it being encouraged.Because that worked so well in northern Ireland. In fact thorough most of western history persecuting religious minorities was a favorite community past-time. I think Northern Ireland is a little different in that the Protestents were largely seen as invaders rather than just being a schism in an existing group, or in the case of North America, being a place opressed minorities fled to. At this point both sides should just suck it up. The catholic Irish have their own country, Northern Ireland voted to stay part of the UK, if the catholics can't learn to live with it, move to Ireland, and both sides need to stop antagonizing each other.

From what I gather from the trailer, his classic suit is just slightly better than the 80s original, a little bulky, etc. The black suit is more "tactical" with his weapons in his arms instead of stored in his legs and such. And the Black... what do you expect when you ask Batman for colour scheme.

He's saying the Israeli claim to Israel is a fraud because its based on the claim of ancestral habitation, but the majority of the jewish population of Israel is ashkenazi or ashkenazi descent, who are descendents of Khazar or European converts, not the original hebrew inhabitants of judea/ysrael/palestine/whatever.

Technically a semite is someone who speaks a semitic language as their mother tongue, of which hebrew is. So while some jews are semitic, not all are.

Gonna have to agree with Volourn. I had no issues, and I was able to zoom out. Wasn't top down, but good enough.

You would think if they were going to try to be as real as possible they would have looked into LA Noire's facial animation tech.

Sorry friend Bruce, but for all the repetition of the message, from Obama "being sure" and the Israeli intelligence services claiming as "fact" it happened, hard evidence is in very short supply. Currently about as convincing a case as Saddams stock piles of WMD ready to deploy. I sat down yesterday, read a number of web site news articles (everything from bbc over al jazeera to fox news, trying not to laugh too hard at the latter) and put a critical view on the sources and question the motivation of each article. Couldn't find a single "agenda-less" claim that it happened. Entirely anecdotal, I know. Still makes me question whether or not somebody is fanning the flames for less obvious reasons. Many Bothans died to get them that information.

Broadchurch finished. I figured out the killer around episode 5 but wasn't certain, and I figured it out due to the way the show was done rather than any hints and such. Totally took the wife by surprise. I liked how it didn't end after they nabbed the killer, and went on to show a bit of the aftermath, the emotional toll on the family, and those who knew the killer. The American version is going to screw it up.

We looked at Rwanda during a political science class in high school, but it was a few years after the fact. Ethnic cleansing and civil war are a mite different though.

I usually have subtitles on on movies/netflix as well, because the sound fx and music is generally like 10000x louder than the voices and I don't want to have to keep turning it up and down so I just set the volume so that the fx/music isn't jarring and that usually leaves dialogue inaudible. When I go into sound options in a game and it has the option of jacking up the voice and turning down effects and music, I want to send extra money to the developers. Transformers War For Cybertron was the only game I could play at night while the wife was sleeping because the xbox is in my bedroom, and it had options to turn the sound fx down.
