  1. On the redemption without sacrifice topic: This was indeed, an annoying trait of KOTOR. The only "sacrifice" that was possible to make in the game was Bastilia's life. (I liked the fact that carth would try to re-reedeem you if you were a chick. . .I always felt so bad for him though. Once you get past his problems, he's a nice enough fella.) On the bastilia on taris without being captured: This is explained on Korriban when Bastie says something like "the average soldier may not recognize my face, just my name, but some of the older sith will". You never met a real accomplished sith on Taris. The only one you met was the sith gov'nor. Edit: I kinda liked the way villian Revan went around, though the PC couldn't go around. If you recall from conversations with Carth that it wasn't Revan who destroyed. . .err. . .devistated Telos, it was Malak. Also in the first extended Revan cutscene, we see her forcechoking an officer (who probably would have been meat for the jedi. Choking is a bit less painful then saber burns, I'd imagine.). Also he/she does not run up to confront Bastie and gang, but assumes a defencive posture.
  2. All he needs is a friend. He's just mad that he's a misunderstood artist. :">
  3. Your theory is. . .interesting, but alas! it does not fit with what we currently know. Like "Considering the Sith Lords are out to getcha (convert or kill) you, and as far as we know two of the sith lords are allies (Nihilis and Sion), why would Kreia re-connect you with the force if she wanted to kill you?" Plus, having a female goodie become a baddie would be so. . .so. . .so. . .Bioware-esque!
  4. You do that, then. Corrupt an innocent little wookie (who has wookie rage, probably beats stuff up for the heck of it. . .but hey! Wookie puppy dog eyes!)
  5. My first play through I'll be a consular/something. Depends on how I play the game. And you never know whatcha do till it comes and hits you on the head. Like a nasty brick.
  6. "Whoops! My Revan was female!" Be nice. There's plenty of people in the world who may call you an "idiotic jackass" for using "u" and "ppl". Realize that not all people see the world as you see it. No offence intended.
  7. Mmmm, I like your idea. However, I want a truely seductive reason for following the DS path. I remember when I was facing Bastie at the temple and listened to her talk. Despite the fact that she sounded bitter and angry, I could understand what she was talking about. Yeah, I could get the fact that "The jedi council betrayed you once" "they're using you as a puppet" blah blah blah. But I didn't want to go mad with power (like all sith seem to do ) I wanted to look at it like I understood it; like I had a horrible grudge against the council and I wanted to know who I really was. KOTOR made it too easy to be mean. A good person can do good things that turn out bad. A bad person can do good things. Take it a step beyond "black and white and gray" look at things as "right and wrong". You can say things like "GRRR! GIVE ME ALL YER CREDITS!" or say things like "Excuse me. . .are these your credits?" after taking 3/4ths as a reward before giving them back, then casually asking for a reward. I'd also like for it to be hard to crawl back up to goodness. It was too easy to jump from light to dark to light to dark whenever you wanted to. I would also like to be a pretty good evil person. Not have those nasty veins bulging out of my face and look like I'm a walking corpse. Bastilia looked good; why can't I?
  8. On Jedi and Samurai: When Lucas first created Star Wars, he was a Samurai buff. Literally. Star Wars itself is almost entirely based off of the samurai film "The Hidden Fortress". Look at the religion of the Samurai (Zen Buddhism). If it seems a little bit like the Jedi, don't worry. It is! The lightsaber, weapon of the jedi, is probably a take off of damascus steel used by the samurai. The samurai's katana was said to be so sharp that it could cut a normal sword in half (apparently they never discovered cratosis weave.). As time has gone on, Lucas' stories have gotten less and less like the honourable samurai stories he based the OT off of. Sadly, it shows. *insert excuse for sarcasm and lack of more detail here.*
  9. For shame. Using cheats.
  10. Thankyou, Chris. You make the days go by much quicker and less painfully.
  11. You are SCHCA MEKNO of the planet benzaclin! Schca. . .how would you say that? Man. I'm actually kinda fond of that freakly name.
  12. At most, I'd like to see Revan in the hologram form. With the man/woman who did the voice the first time. Adam Brennecke is a little green spy!
  13. http://media.pc.ign.com/media/608/608569/img_2472324.html That makes it look like the fighter minigame has been carried over into the real action.
  14. Is the "asian" looking head the one with raven (blueish) black hair and blue eyes? Or one of the more asian instead of european ones? (I'm playing with the ugly chick with the brown hair that's in a ponytail currently. I honestly hope Obsidian makes much better female heads.)
  15. OMG! YOU RUINED THE GAME! I AM H8ing U! Seriously, though. I agree with GhostofAnakin. Visiting these forums I shan't do till I get my hands on KOTOR2. Hey, that rhymes.
  16. Pshhh. No. It's because men are the "default" protagonist for most stories. Example: More men like games where men are in it. Are the protagonist. The same for games. That's why you occasionally hear about Monolith trying to appeal to the guys with Contract JACK instead of catering to the already in-love NOLF fans. I'm a bit disappointed. In the movies, the main characters are usually male, with the exception of a female royalty type in the movies. Peh. Princess Leia was my hero when I was little. :"> Not that she was a princess. . .But that she could kick butt. That was, until of course, Return of the Jedi. Edit: Thinking about you wonderful little ditty up there, Taran'atar, made me wonder why the Dark Siders were so ugly. There's got to be SOME good looking, dead sexy ones out there. I want my Exile to be seduced by a gracefully muscular MSG. :D
  17. Hmm. D'you mean game or real life? It's hard to know until you come to a situation. It depends on how the situation is presented, what is in jeophardy, what's the temptation (Bastie made a pretty strong argument in kotor 1 for darksiders. Unfortunetly, if I don't get a cookie with my darkside membership, you can consider that a bad option.) and how my emotions are tangled. Who cares about the jedi code. All I care about is my honour. D'you get more honour from destroying the protectors, or aiding them? Hmph. Thinking about the big picture, not looking at the details. Typical. :D
  18. Whee, female Revan! I imagine that it was blurred to keep us from knowing everything. Darn you, Obsidian! Darrrn you! (We still love you. But why do you mock us so? Oh, cruel fates!)
  19. Murmph, I mean basic outcome. Kinda like what you mean, but not really. If you did it many ways, it was still the same thing in the end. Did you go back and do every side quest differently? Save the game and go back? I wouldn't. That's just tedious. And annyoing. Now, unless there had been a radically different way to do a quest, I doubt many of us bothered. Akari = supercool thread stalker
  20. Yes, but consider the fact that nearly everyone wanted DS/LS mastery. And besides, being neutral wasn't much of an option in kotor.
  21. I mean if you do them all light/dark. Silly. If your general reaction (as many did ) being light/dark.
  22. Hmm. Looks to me like the game is worth playing over and over and over again any way. Let's see. Someone help me with my math, please. I'm not very good when my head is in pain. Revan DS/LS Male/Female: x4 Base Class: x3 Prstg. Class: x6 Party Config: Currently Unknown PC M/F DS/LS: x4 Multiple conversations: If like KOTOR, it will be x3 "Secrets": Unknown Sidequests, multiple ways: If like kotor, x2. Planet Combinations: x7 Saber config: over 10mil Umm. There's a lot of ways to play the game. Someone who has a clear head, do the math. Or if you're a math major. Or if you're a dev and know the multiple ways.
  23. Too much of the godlike Jedi = too much of a. . .uhh. . .thing. I honestly would like just. . .being a character for a bit. Not some "YOU MUST SAVE THE UNIVERSE OMG LOL" character. I consider that. . .really kinda dumb. Why can't we just save some chickens or something?
  24. Can someone with photoshop get me a zoom on Kreia's face? I'm rather interested in her eyes. Ugh. It sounds like I'm a feaky chick who stalks old women.
  25. Heh. If you like it or not, KOTOR was about Darth Revan. Plus people would be generally pissed if their "Widdle Wevan" was killed off. <_< I doubt very much that this is the end of our lady/lord Revan.
