PC version more "polished"?
DesertHawk replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Mmm. I imagine that you're correct there, GhostofAnakin. Yet we won't have all the problems the X-boxers are having. Load times. Stuttering. Some times it is good to be a PC'er. -
PC version more "polished"?
DesertHawk replied to GhostofAnakin's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Lovelies, Chris said that there would be a. . .few. . .differences between Xbox and PC version. Quick question: What forums are "safe" for us? -
I guess we PC users will be absent til February
DesertHawk replied to Kaftan Barlast's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
If a spoiler forum isn't popping up tonight (It is as of this writing 9:18 PM here.) then I'm going. (Will sometimes pop into the offtopic/gaming/NWN2 forums so I can get my dosage of Obsidian goodness.) I just want to say that you've all been great. Even though there are the. . .occasional. . .mean folks on this board, you're all still some of the people that I'd want to be stuck with the most on a gaming board. I mean that in the nicest possible way. Of course. -
KOTOR 2 Store Release Dates
DesertHawk replied to Johnny_Tightlips's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Oh, please. It's more like one and a half months now. -
KOTOR 2 Store Release Dates
DesertHawk replied to Johnny_Tightlips's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
*is biting her fingernails nervously in the corner of the forum.* I'll probably end up sticking it out. I'd need a total of $200 to get an Xbox AND the game. I only have at this time $127. Of course, I can always go over to someone else's house (it pays to be a table top RPGer) and play it. -
KOTOR 2 Store Release Dates

I think my heart just died. I'm split between trying to find a cheap Xbox or sticking it out until Febuary. Ach, there goes my heart again. -
KOTOR 2 Store Release Dates
DesertHawk replied to Johnny_Tightlips's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
On the same topic of Target and KOTOR 2, here's a little tip for you all. My local target (in Illinois here) has an offer for KOTOR 2 that should interest you folks. The ad is one of the biggest on the page, besides the ad for a gamecube. Here is what it says: "49.99 Low Price - Knights of the Old Republic II: The Sith Lords Avail. Thurs., Dec. 9 "Free Strategy Guide with purchase of Knights of the Old Republic II---a $14.99 value! See Electronics team member for details. No rain checks." I suggest all of you American X-boxers take up this offer if you haven't already pre-ordered. -
Don't know how many stats we get off the top of my head, but here is my basic build: ? Female Silver or Orange single lightsaber Consular/Jedi Weapons Master or Sith Lord Medium Low STR High Dex Low CON High INT Medium Low WIS High CHA

Designer Ramblings: New Cast of Companions
DesertHawk replied to Chris Avellone's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
This post will make a lot of us understand better. Thanks, Chris. I'm sure we'll all enjoy the new characters. Especially Atton! Have a good time at the con! -
When will you Xboxers get KOTOR II?
DesertHawk replied to Bokishi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Winter 2005, perhaps. If I spend the money I have saved up. Ugh. I hope Lucasarts puts that pre-order for the PC up soon. -
The loading times? If you have a fast PC the game won't take that long to load, like a second or two. Framrate, if you have a fast computer than you'll have next to none. Bugs, Patches. How not every thing comes together in the end, they would have to re-write the story and i'm 99.999999% that they won't because the game is far to late in devolpment to do that. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> Indeed. My PC is about two years old now, and I'm proud to say can handle almost anything thrown at it. (Though a RAM upgrade is starting to be needed.) From what I gathered the story doesn't need anything, but the bugs do.

They don't tell you if Revan or the crew is dead, because that's a major spoiler right there. If Revan went to Korriban, she must've taken backup with her. Even if you can defeat a sith lord by yourself, you can still be taken by surprise. And that, children, is the story about why you're supposed to go to your school with friends! Eh. . .what was I saying? Oh, right. I would imagine that Revan left the Ebon Hawk, let the people left on it go where they want, etc. And somehow, you, Kreia, and maybe a few other folks (who are all dead by now, thanks to YOU!) get on it. Wow. "But that still doesn't answer what happened to Revan!?" I have complete and utter faith that Obsidian wouldn't kill such a, ah, "well loved" character. If I'm wrong, the devs can come over here, steal me away to their little hidey spot, and perform evil torture on me. "

HK shut down when he thought Revan was dead before. Or, at least, that is what was implied.

Load Times are shorter but there are more of them
DesertHawk replied to JediMafia's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Please. Stop these threads. We get it that you're upset. It's alright to be angry. Just please. Stop. If you want to complain, you can. Make your own thread where you can post list after list. Just please, stop. Nobody wants to hear you go on about "HOW HORRIBLE IT IS GOING TO BE" for the umpteenth time. And. . .see the glass as half full. You'll live longer. -
What Are Your Fears For KOTOR 2?
DesertHawk replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I don't trust people who are paid to be overly critical of games. Just enjoy games for what they are. -
What Are Your Fears For KOTOR 2?
DesertHawk replied to Bastilla_Skywalker's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
On a recent runthrough of KOTOR, the game seems faster than before. Therefore, I have no fears. I trust Obsidian entirely. The team members have made great stories and games before, always making the story clear (no plot twists) but with a rather large, looming question to answer. (Even Fallout, in it's own quirky way.) -
Name a game that accomplishes this, including a detail of how it does this in case I haven't played it. <{POST_SNAPBACK}> GTA: Vice City. While you can commit crimes, citizens around you can have the coppers chase after them, too. (For beating up the gang members with my nightstick, I get $50! Yaaay.)

I never thought i would say this
DesertHawk replied to Ronil Organ's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I fail to see the point in buying an X-box. I can do as much, if not more on my PC. An X-box is just a waste of money, considering most things are ported over in time, and if not they just were not popular enough to be. Or I have no real interest in them. I'm not complaining much, if at all. I may have commented that it isn't nice for LA to say one thing and then do another (in these parts we call that 'lying') but complained? Never. I've taken the "pain and suffering" like the woman I am. Personally, I can wait until Febuary. All I'll need is something Coma inducing, then I'll wake up and TSL will be out! Genius plan if I do say so myself. Edit: The reason that I don't go out and buy an X-box is that I'd have to save up an ungodly amount of money. I simply don't have all the extra cash I'd like, considering I have to pay for various services that aren't as free as they used to be. -
Ehh. We have about a week or two left of them. Maybe, if we're lucky, some information about exile or revan will be covered? Then again, with our luck. . .

About the level cap (POSSIBLE SPOILERS!!!)
DesertHawk replied to ampulator00's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
"$50 leads to game. Game leads to fun. Fun leads to woe. Woe leads to bliss. Bliss leads to paths. Paths leads to replayability. Through replayability, my chains are broken." The fact that I ran around for about 1/6th of the game level 20 was really boring. Especially if you count on levels to heal you up because you want to make the game more challenging so you've given yourself a con of 8. Level restore = fun! -
Its official 8.5 Graphics= Lazy Dev
DesertHawk replied to JediMafia's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
With the right things, KOTORs graphics look pretty awesome. At least, they're still the best graphics I've seen (the textures however leave a lot to be desired) in any game. They work, they don't stutter, and they look semi-realistic. They're not cartoonish or overly fake. Hell, I could acurately picture Carth's clothes in my head. Look at other games and they leave out a lot. I personally liked the hair. It wiggled more and there were strands here and there. Nowadays all you gamers care about is graphics. For christ's sake, go play Zork and you'll appriciate a game for what it is, how humourous it is, the story, the characters, and the puzzles, not how impressive the stupid graphics are. Half-Life 1 has horrible graphics and it's still a much-loved, much-played game. If what is the most important to you is graphics and downloadable content, I feel sorry for you. Because with standards for those, you're missing a lot of good games. Go play NOLF1. Great game. Bad graphics. -
The most interesting piece of info is the lack of a level cap. I would imagine that this means the enimies are done in proportion to you. Interesting. Very, very interesting.

Crazy thought: Is Kreia actually Bastila?
DesertHawk replied to Kylearan's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Kreia is no hag! You men! Judging women on their looks! How ignoble! I read somewhere that the DS had sped up the emp's aging. Oh, a bit off topic, but methinks -
