  1. Right next to you, silly Iowan. In Illinois. In Chicago. In a box. It'd be nice if they'd mourn. Maybe at least they'd mourn the fact that they'd never have to deal with us when we're irritable. Of course, there's more people dead than they're saying. The number that's being tossed around is the bodies found. There's much more dead than 125,000. Much more. (Did you all hear that they've found no animal corpses? It's like the animals all ran away, leaving us to be devistated. Wierd.) I wish that we were doing more. 8 million USD is not nearly enough for aid to such devistation. Nature - Biggest Terrorist of Technological Man, but we don't do a thing to help people. Gah.
  2. I imagine the rest of the board will be pretty happy to have us be gone. The current number is 121,000 and still climbing. If anyone over here has loved ones in that place of the world, our hope goes out to you. Warning the general populace of a massive earthquake is a good idea. Not warning and having thousands of deaths on your hands is a bad idea.
  3. Robert A. Heinlein's "Have Spacesuit - Will Travel" and "Red Planet" are what I consider his best, and is possibly the best writer in that group that you said. Heh, I don't read the Harry Potter books (not anymore, at least. They seem to be getting a bit worse as time goes on, and the fact that J.K sold out (the movies) makes it worse), but they're adored by a lot of people. Classics are not something that individual people decide, it's a matter of advertising and general appeal. (if it's following the classic myth that is shown in Greek Mythology and Star Wars OT)
  4. Bioware helped set the standard we're now seeing in books, movies, and games: a woman goes and betrays the good guys. Ugh. (Die Another Day, anyone?) And I didn't even get to join forces with her.
  5. Oddly enough, I like you. Don't go expecting me to bail you out of jail or other favors, though. Too many girls?!?!? Too many girls?!?!? My god, almost all computer games are about male characters, but do you see me complaining about how many there are? About how many guys are in my party? No, you do not. Besides, you have enough people for a male-only-party. Bao-Dur and Atton. Guh. Nerds will also be your boss someday. Besides, the Zabrak race are all technologists except for the stupid rejects who are there to help people actually come to Lucas' movie like Maul. Oh, and if you're a jedi master you should be able to kick everyone's caboose? I don't think so. A person who is a black belt can still be overpowered or taken from behind. Same with Jedi. Spellcheck and the shift key are also your friends. Edit: Look who forgot to edit her post above. Oh, it looks like me! Ha. It's what all the "cool kids" are doing nowadays anyways. Sorry, gang.
  6. Neverwinter Nights 2 KOTOR2 PC Half-Life 3 That screenshot looks awesome. :D Dragon Age (Vaguely interested. . .) Black and White 2 (I'm a shameless fan of my tiger who can utterly destroy entire villages by simply pooing on them.) NOLF3 (They'll do it. . .Eventually!) The Sims 2 Expansion Pack - Y'know, the college one GTA:SA for PC Of course, the only ones I really care about are the RPGs and the FPSes.
  7. Maybe because everyone is posting their mini-reviews/game judgement here? Including, if I recall properly, you? Thanks for the message. It looks to be a fun game.
  8. That is, believe it or not, a good thing. The first step is admitting you hate it. Then you can move on and be wrong more often.
  9. http://www.douglasadams.com/creations/infocom.php If that doesn't work, follow the instructions on http://www.douglasadams.com/creations/infocomjava.html Text based games are the best.
  10. It's simple to a point. When it comes to botches and requiem's re-roll system it gets difficult. Many a time we've asked our storyteller "Didn't we botch?" and the answer was no. In our games (where we have mostly combat pcs who load up on flaws so they can get that new specialty) there's so many things that you have to take into account ("my character has enchanting voice, but she has a difficulty to social rolls by 2!") you really don't know what you're doing with dice rolls to a point. Plus, one of the STs I've been under can't properly do a difficulty. Guh. (Our av. difficulty is actually six, not seven, in games.)
  11. I'd say something banshee-ish. I don't know why, she just struck me as the kind.
  12. I can play Vampire, but I can't be the DM("Storyteller") because I simply can't wrap my mind around the rolling system. Our storyteller has to have her book with her all the time. <_< Did I just admit that? Alas, I must harden myself to mad bashings. What these people really need to do is play a Star Wars D20 based mud. . .That'll help them figure out the system pretty darn quick.
  13. Yeah. Him. I guess I'll just have to remember watching the BBC version of it. Sigh.
  14. Mmm. It all just depends on the person, I suppose. Some people just don't like things. Others do. Torment's story did rock. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy was a classic. A classic doesn't have to be depressing or stupid. It just has to be loved by millions. The Harry Potter books would be considered "Classics". The millions also say that they're doing a HHG movie. I've heard that a rapper is playing Ford. Hopefully, just a rumor.
  15. I think the vocabulator is on Peragus.
  16. I had a number of nasty game killing bugs with KOTOR for the PC, but that didn't stop me from pre-ordering my copy. For the PC, of course.
  17. Heh. Don't read Da Vinci Code. I'm a big reader of books, and not very critical, but the guy barely did his research. He overdescribes (and some of his description is, when you think about it, not accurate.) and the twist about as obvious as the twist in KOTOR 1. Plus he didn't do all of his research on the Knights Templar and made a lot of stuff up. <_< Bet he didn't expect a medieval buff to read his book. The only reedeeming quality of the book is that he did his research when it came to some aspects. But there's a lot of just plain dumb stuff like: The best grail story is still Indy Jones. Sorry, Dan Brown. You lose. Edit: If you want a good read, read The Original Illuminatus Trilogy. Only if you're 18+, of course.
  18. Really?! Ooo! I'll have to find me a "master" now. Now who do we know who is a master of all things evil?...I think it is time to poke our good friend Hades.
  19. mine was 22 in K1. I didn't bother with it much beause I could dodge everything with my 20 dex.
  20. Daleks kill anything. Except when they wear hats. ^_^ Goooo, Tom Baker! Honestly, I would say tie. Empire may have Vader, but the Cov have those energy shields. Plus stormtroopers can't really shoot well. But in a space battle? It'd be who has the most ships. I'm tempted again to say Cov because, well, look at what they did to the Autumn something or other.
  21. Hey, this is why I'm an RPG gamer. I hate excessive violence. Even on TV. Watched the X-files. . .Maybe once. Never, ever, ever again. Maybe I'll make my boyfriend do it for me. Actually he'll probably just sit by me, eating doritos and cackling insanely as I freak out. Hmm. Not the brightest idea. I'll just do it later today. Bleh. They're just headcrab zombies and thank god they don't have those claws. Those horrible, horrible claws.
