Interesting. The fact that we'll be able to be a Sith or a Jedi is very interesting. That means that Atris could very well be our "baddie" at the end. Hm. Very. . .Very. . .interesting. . . 3 classes to 6 priestage classes to X combos of options to 4 sides. . .That is quite a replayable game Obsidian has made for themselves, and us of course! (periods for added effect.)

Darth Scion is a sexy mofo
DesertHawk replied to Maria Caliban's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I agree with you, Maria. Men don't realize that what we truely love and what is a man we can connect with. Part corpse? His charm and wit makes up for it. Lazy eye? A soft kiss on the cheek from him is nicer than anything you'd get from that walking STD Atton Rand. Men don't realize that if they got all injured we'd be over them like a pack of wolves. Heh. Ahh, well. The world needs some pansy males. -
Bruce Lee is a Jedi!
DesertHawk replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Sure, why not. Pft. Sarcasm, how I love it. Anyway. Speaking on Bruce Lee, I liked what he did. It's a pity he still isn't around to day, I'd love to have seen him do more work. He was a very cool person. It's sad how he only lived to the age of 33. Maybe if he had lived a bit longer, his life would have been saved. Death is such a depressing thing to think of. -
All new heads? Uhoh. There was that one head (blackish/blueish haired, blue eyed female) that I really adored. Seemed to be the best head for fems in the game. Sob! It'd be interesting if you gained a few levels as a Jedi without force powers, and then you get your skills trained (I.E you gain the amount of force powers appropriate to your level) when you "reconnect" to the force. <insanity> Force: Please try to reconnect to the Force. PC: Urgh! My connection sucks. I should've gotten cable. Or a DFL. Force: I'm sorry, but you have been put on hold. PC: Gaaah. Force: This call will cost you $72.90. Thank you and have a nice day. *hangup* PC: They're gonna get a piece of my mind when I can get through. PC: *redials* Force: Hello, this is the Force speaking. Are you a Jedi? Were you a Jedi? Do you want to be a Jedi again? How about a soft, lovable Sith? If we can amuse children, or make you buy our products based on mediocre movies, then ForceINC is for you! PC: WOOHOO! </insanity> It's better in my brain. Ah, well. While I'm starting to have small, nagging doubts about this game, (Small doubts. They're small.) I will still buy it and enjoy it. I just hope they put a lot more care into the female models. Not that the majority of gamers are female, but we shouldn't be stuck with the nasty faces while men get the better deal. I want nice looking, strong looking, more female looking models and heads. Their faces from KOTOR looked quite manish. Er.

Bruce Lee is a Jedi!
DesertHawk replied to Ivan the Terrible's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Wow. It really is Bruce Lee. I wonder if he's going to do the vocals, too. By the way, what is that person in your avatar licking? -
Romance Poll: More than two
DesertHawk replied to Topaz Quasar's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
"I'm right and you are not! Realize this, or face the everlasting mark of stupidity!" What I consider true means everything for me. I deny Diablo the RPG label. I do not get the same experience playing Diablo or Sacred as when I'm playing Torment or Fallout, therefore I feel a real need to differentiate between them. Truth is a subjective opinion. Maybe it's the lack of character development that makes Diablo just a click and hit game. Maybe it's the lack of options in dialogue. Maybe it's the fact that there's not much making your character unique, and you have to be set on male/female, height, skin colour, appearance. If I recall correctly, neither Diablo or Diablo 2 - or Lord of Destruction, for that matter - had such nice customization. I can't wait until Uru-style customization becomes the norm. (Back on topic) Seeing additional romances would be lovely. I found myself being a lightside Jedi doing the bad thing around Carth to make him angry and get to kill him at the end. I loved it. If I could have romanced Zalzabar, I would have. Romance with a wookie . That'd make my day. I never played male (females. We're cooler. But a slight difference in gender would sure be nice. Like females get a bonus to CHA and WIS and INT and DEX and men get a bonus to STR and a teeny bonus to DEX... ) so I never knew what the Bastila romance was like. However, I do get the impression people felt cheated by her romance. Juhani romance with female Revan was the best. She always confessed her undying love for me. Mindtricking someone to get all warm and snuggly with you would be nice. -
I wouldn't mind having to wait for more info, instead of sticking up the devs with waterguns filled with acid and growling for information like a pack of savage starving wolves. There's a few things we can try to piece together. So let's speculate, as you say. 1. You were exiled for disobaying the council, and they took away your little glowstick so that you'd be sad and go cry on Peragus. While they're at it, they take your lunch money. 2. Revan went to the outer rim, presumably to flee something or look for something (what was out there in the first place?) or just to hang out and chill. 3. Depends on what you say to Mr. Quizzer himself, Atton Rand. However, I'd imagine they'd keep folks the fans really liked and dropped those we wanted to put a blaster to their heads, or keep them to make us angry or if they were important to the plot. 4. Sean Connery. And Mira is still looking bad, indeed. She looks kinda toadfaced.

How the heck do you end up with the Ebon Hawk?
DesertHawk replied to Bokishi's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Maybe it's like a movie car chase. Revan finds herself in trouble, possibly followed by a group of sith assassins who're trying to get rid of their old master/one of the last few jedi. So she picks up a ship on Peragus and leaves the Ebon Hawk where it is, and you come on it and the sithies come on you. Then you all have a tasty BBQ using Gizkas for the spicy chicken. Hooray for 11:01 PM. /end insanity -
I'm all for phat loot for everyone. Anyways. I always thought lightsabers were just laser swords. (I hear someone else did them before Lucas, not sure though.) And lasers, "beam weapons" in star trek, are just blasters in the sw universe. So while a lightsaber throwing dagger would be. . .interesting. . .a blaster themselves should be like a projectile lightsaber. I think I'm ranting. I might be wrong, but I think I am.

Questions the the Devs - Take 2
DesertHawk replied to EnderAndrew's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
It's long been the custom for Star Wars games to be at the "Teen" rating. They're never more, never less. I don't imagine it'll be different this time. Well there is that one scene where the PC eats a basket full of puppies and kittens. Noooo! Not the puppies! The kittens can be eaten, however. And anyways, why does the PC do such an act? -
Ooooh, I wish I could remember the name of that Infocom title. "Leather Goddess of Phobos" or something like that. If you want a "sexy" game, go play that. "Next gen" gamers be warned, it's an advent/text-based type game (a la zork). No graphics for you, bub. I wouldn't mind romances if they added more dialogue. I always wanted more conversations with my party. If this brings that in, I'd be a happy camper.

How about making KOTOR2 work with ATI cards?
DesertHawk replied to CastleBravo's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Amen to that. nVidia is probably the best maker of cards right now, I'd have to say. I've never had crashes or stutterings like I had on my old computer, or on my (shudder) mac. If you don't use your computer as a gaming computer first, and a work computer second, maybe ATI is the way to go? -
I'm all for making the game harder. Harder games = more fun. I'd love to change it around ingame instead of having a set level all the time. Can't recall if KOTOR 1 did this or not. And on the topic of IQ tests: A lot of the ones online are just silly. I was told I had over Einstein's on a test once, which was just, well, dumb. Most tests nowadays are dumbed down for the "larger" crowd. If you want to know your actual IQ, people, go to a shrink and take a test. Ahem. Had to get this out of my system.

I could be wrong, but I think the game is mostly finished and their just adding the fine layers of polish onto it. What you're saying has also been suggested before. But it's still an interesting idea, I'll grant you that.

A few things I would love to see
DesertHawk replied to Product of the Cosmos's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I wonder if we can turn in that bounty ourselves. "Hey! It's me, the MC! I brought myself...I hear you want me. Oh? Dead only? Maybe something can be arranged instead?" Good ideas. -
Woohoo! Thank goodness you're keeping those NPCs. There was a thread saying you guys were cutting back on some because you couldn't handle the load. It sounds like you're making multiple improvements over the first KOTOR. You get a cookie. Hope you like oreo. What I ment in question number two was something along the lines of: Will we be able to choose a special trait (e.x: fallout. . .fast shot, small frame, etc,) and choose a background for our character (as in how in Arcanum you could have your character raised by circus freaks, a knifethrower, and they got bonuses to their character scores from all that.) Kind of like how all the NPCs get something nice and fluffy about them, Mira's rocket launcher, Atton Rand's STD, little pink lightsaber, and inability to be knocked out, each making some an ideal choice for certain situations. However, I like controlling Revan/MC in combat, and not using my NPCs unless I have to. For example, My character has a small frame trait and fast shot. (My fallout character.) She fired faster, but couldn't aim. She could also dodge attacks better. And she was short. The professional knife thrower's child on the other hand. . .Was missing a finger or two if I recall correctly. So, will our character be special in any way? Remember. . .everyone is unique. . .Awwwe. Or maybe what's special is that we're just normal? And you're going to make a game that'll get/is getting a lot of attention, for sure, and you'll all make people happy. What a great feeling.

I suppose that means no deserts on Telos? No jello world on Dantooine? No cursed underwater on Peragus? Darn, your taking all the joy out of my life! Questions, questions. . .And more questions! 1. Are you really removing some of the extra NPCs? That's quite a pity if so. 2. Will there be any chance for some special stuff for the MC? Like chosing what job you did on Peragus, a special trait, what planet you came from, etc. For some reason, I'd like seeing that. (Maybe Fallout and Arcanum spoiled us. Maybe. . .) 3. Will there be more inter-party conversations? I found the lack of good folks to talk to after level 14. . .Depressing. 4. Will there be a cookie for lightsiders, and a fancy leather coat for darksiders? And choices for graysiders? 5. Will there be more ways than two to finish quests? (Kill him with lightsaber, don't kill him and talk to him.) 6. How does it feel to know someone loves a game you made? Thank you, and keep making the world a better place for RPG gamers.
-
Agreed. Sometimes when I got frustrated with an aspect of KOTOR I'd go and play a minigame, usually for the turret one I would handicap myself somehow...Ehh, anyway. A whole minute or two from your life doesn't matter unless you're smooching death in the corner. If you are, download the mod or save before planets. <_<
-
I'd rather have more NPCs than dock somewhere else. I hope that's just a rumor. I really do.
-
Or autopilot to make him useless? I hope they leave something from Revan behind. Maybe robes. Or a little lightsaber-let. (Tiny, little lightsaber. . .Sooooo cute!) After all, it is hard to clean up a ship. It's like a hotel room, but with creepy, crawly gizka. And their creepy, crawly corpses.

Sith Lords KOTOR Ending
DesertHawk replied to Bala_Starwarz's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
FLS. Women are awesome (yea! yea!) , and lightside is what I "naturally" would lean towards. ...I think. -
PLanets the same size? what?
DesertHawk replied to Mr. Teatime's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
Thank you, Mr. Morgan. (Lovely avatar, by the way.) One of the reasons Invisible War was hated so badly was because it wasn't the first game. Simple as that. Everyone expects sequels to be the same game as the first. Sorry, but that ain't gonna happen. -
PLanets the same size? what?
DesertHawk replied to Mr. Teatime's topic in Star Wars: General Discussion
I'm not willing to trust what we've heard so far. I'm under the impression that a good portion are rumors, and the other portion is the truth. <_< Unless it comes from the mouth of the devs. . .I won't trust it. So, let's all hope and pray that KOTOR 2 will be bigger or at least have the illusion of being bigger as we wait for some good, trustworthy information. -
Correction. Revan did have a voice. Switch from Revan to someone else and you'll hear "Hm?" "What?" or "Yes?". And if you have the PC version, pause the game and do that. It makes for hours of entertainment.

Wookies are like carpets, and carpets are like beds. . .am I right? I always thought Jolee slept in the Medical room. I always thought it was a private bedroom, too. Boy, was I wrong. As for toilets, I always thought they used what was handy. Actually, does flying the fastest ship take that long? All they do is get on, sleep, and have crazy dreams. Then wake up, Carth's taken us to some planet, yay Carth, and complain about their crazy dreams. Wookie's in the shower, he won't get out! Ugh, we found all this fur in there when he was in it last time. Ick. Wookies are so. . .uncivilized. Waste. It's star wars, so they just burn it. Lightsabers have many other uses than backscratchers and toothpicks, ya know.
