Unable To Name Island
SChin replied to c1derly's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Hello C1derly, Unfortunately if you exit out of the text box when naming islands it will default to the auto filled "Island Name" and display that on the island. Just having completed the island and having the prompt should still count toward the achievement however. We were wondering if you could send us a copy of your save file so that we could take a look at it and see what might be going on or missing and help get that achievement set up for you. If needed, you can find instructions on where the save files are located here. You can either provide a link to your save file via Dropbox or you may attach it to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily. Thanks in advance!- 4 replies

Hello Hawke, I'm sorry the quest is not progressing for you. Would you be able to send us a copy of your save where this is occurring? I want to have the team take a look at it and see what might be going wrong for you. If needed, you can find instructions on the location of your save files here. You can either provide a link to your save via Dropbox or you may attach it to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily. Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.

Hey everyone, This is definitely an issue we are still investigating at the moment. A very useful thing if you would be so, kind would be a save file that has completed the Beast of Winter DLC, and a save file of a different character that has NOT completed the DLC but is being treated as if they had. If needed, you can find instructions on where to find your save files here. You can either provide a link to your files via Dropbox or you may attach them to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily. This would be an amazing help if you happen to have these. Thank you so much, and sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.

Hey everyone, This is still unfortunately a problem that we have continued to work on and purchase more hardware in an attempt at reproducing the issue so that we can fix it. We will absolutely make a big mention of this in future patch notes when this gets fixed as this is the toughest issue we have had to fix so far for Deadfire and will be ridiculously glad to not have to worry about it anymore. We sincerely do apologize for the problems, frustrations, and length of time this fix is taking and will continue to do what we can to resolve it. If you ever find any more information about this bug, please let us know so that we can look into your findings and get this fixed up. Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience this has been causing.

Hello Rojado, I'm sorry about the problem you've run into with Queen Onekaza. Would you be able to send me a copy of your save file where this is occurring? You can either provide a link to your save file via Dropbox or you may attach it to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. Hey everyone! Thank you for letting us know! I'll put a report together and ship it off to the Systems Design and Programming teams to investigate this. If you discover anything else about these balance issues, please continue to post them here as I will be linking this post to the bug report as a reference. Thanks again for all the help!

Hello again Aereon! So the team has run a bunch of tests and have been unable to reproduce the issue. They are wondering if when you are no longer charmed if you have reselected your character to have control to do things again. Normally with solo characters, you always have control of the only character available, but when this situation occurs, it actually deselects the character which would then put you in the only situation where you would need to reselect the solo character to be able to control them. If this is not the case for you and you still have no control over your character, please let us know so we can have the team continue to investigate the issue. Thanks again!

No possible reply to izzy
SChin replied to Nirwanda's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Hey everyone! Thank you for reporting this issue! Fortunately this has already been bugged and fixed. The fix should go live in the hotfix patch tomorrow morning at 10AM PST assuming nothing bad happens to the build. If for some reason this continues to be an issue after updating to the 3.0.1 build, please let me know so I can bop the proper devs on the head. Thanks again and sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. -
Hello Andrea! Wow, that is quite the list and great research! I have taken what you have here and put it in a bug report for the Systems Design team to investigate. If you discover any other abilities with the same situation, please continue to post them here as I have linked this thread in the report to be used as a reference. Thank you so much Andrea!

Hello Orthus, I'm sorry performance for you has been less than optimal. The Programming and VFX team are constantly looking for and implementing ways to help alleviate performance in between their other bug fixes. If you would be so kind, it would be super helpful if you could reproduce this and then send us your output_log.txt file before restarting the game. That file starts anew when Deadfire is started and records everything that happens during the playthrough until the game is restarted and the file refreshes. If needed, you can find instructions on where to obtain the output_log.txt file here. With that, we should be able to see any errors or spam messages that are being logged to see what might be causing the performance drops in your specific case. If the file is too big due to long game play, you can either provide a link to your file via Dropbox or you may attach it to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily. Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience the performance has been causing.

Konstanten Respec Bug (3.0)
SChin replied to Myrtillo's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Hey everyone, I don't see this one in our system so I'd like to bug it and see if we can't get a fix in. Myrtillo, would you be able to send us a copy of your save file where this is occurring so the team can investigate the issue? If needed, you can find instructions on where to obtain your save files here. You can either provide a link to your save file via Dropbox or you may attach it to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily. Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience this is causing. -
V3.0.0.0021 buggs report
SChin replied to Koaliboo's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Hello Koaliboo, I'm sorry you are running into these issues. Would you be able to provide us with a couple of things? The first thing would be if you could reproduce the situation that returns you to the Start Menu and then send us the output_log.txt file afterwards. This is a file that starts to generate every time Deadfire starts up and shows everything that is happening. We would also appreciate if you could send us a copy of your save file where these issues are occurring so we can attempt to reproduce these issues in-house so Programming can have a better understanding of what is causing these issues. If needed, you can find instructions on where to obtain these files here. You can either provide a link to your files via Dropbox or you may attach them to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily. Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience these issues are causing. -
[BUG] Always a Dragonslayer
SChin replied to radagastaba's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Hey everyone, I'm sure the bug report for this is somewhere in the database, but I created a new one as a way to ping the Narrative and Area Design teams so they are reminded of the issue and get a fix in for this. If you discover anything else about this, please feel free to continue posting that here as this has been linked to the bug report to be used as a reference. Thanks for the help and sorry for the inconvenience this bug has caused. -
Game crash on startup
SChin replied to Corfixen's question in Pillars of Eternity II: Deadfire Technical Support (Spoiler Warning!)
Hello Corfixen, I'm sorry you have been having these crash issues trying to start Deadfire. Have you ever been able to start the game successfully or has it always done this to you? Some things to make sure before going into any heavy diagnostic work would be to make sure your graphics drivers and Windows 10 operating system are completely up to date with the latest updates. Another common fix is to uninstall and reinstall Deadfire to make sure it installs properly. If none of those fixes resolve the issue, then there has been another thing that has helped users and I will post that below. 1. Press the Windows button on your keyboard and type "run". 2. Click the Program to open the Run program. 3. Type "regedit" into the Run program and press OK. 4. Find the game folder location from the list of folders on the left.(Your location may be different from mine) 5. Delete the Pillars of Eternity II folder. After doing this, the game should default everything to basic settings. When Deadfire runs again, the folder will repopulate itself with the new default settings, so no need to worry about having deleted the folder. Please let me know if these work for you while the team investigates the issue to see what can be done to get you back into the Deadfire. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience this is causing. -
Hey everyone, I'm sorry about this bug. A change was made to fix a bug and we are reverting that change to make things work properly again. Assuming nothing breaks before tomorrow, we should be releasing a hotfix patch with this reverted fix tomorrow at 10AM PST. The fix is already live on the Beta Patch server now if you would like to get back to your game immediately. Thank you for reporting this issue and I sincerely apologize for the troubles it has caused.
-
Hey everyone! The main bug with the default layout is already fixed and is currently being verified by QA to make sure it is working and hasn't broken anything else. For the different layouts, there is already a bug report created for those and is already assigned to programming for a fix. Stay tuned to the patch updates to see when this fix is put live! Thanks again for reporting these issues!
-
Hey everyone, Thank you for reporting this issue to us! Fortunately this issue has already been reported to us, and as such, is already being worked on. The fix has already been created and is currently in the testing phase to make sure it works and that it doesn't break anything else. Keep an eye on future patch notes to see when this fix is implemented! Thanks again, and sorry for the inconvenience this causes.

Hello again everyone! I just got an update and thought I'd pass it along. Cloud is 100% correct in that the enemies in the immediate area would need to also be defeated for combat to end. Essentially in Berath's Challenge, creatures are put into combat groups and all creatures in those combat groups need to be taken care of before combat will end. I hope this helps clear things up!
