  1. Hello Orthus, I'm sorry performance for you has been less than optimal. The Programming and VFX team are constantly looking for and implementing ways to help alleviate performance in between their other bug fixes. If you would be so kind, it would be super helpful if you could reproduce this and then send us your output_log.txt file before restarting the game. That file starts anew when Deadfire is started and records everything that happens during the playthrough until the game is restarted and the file refreshes. If needed, you can find instructions on where to obtain the output_log.txt file here. With that, we should be able to see any errors or spam messages that are being logged to see what might be causing the performance drops in your specific case. If the file is too big due to long game play, you can either provide a link to your file via Dropbox or you may attach it to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily. Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience the performance has been causing.
  2. Hey everyone, I don't see this one in our system so I'd like to bug it and see if we can't get a fix in. Myrtillo, would you be able to send us a copy of your save file where this is occurring so the team can investigate the issue? If needed, you can find instructions on where to obtain your save files here. You can either provide a link to your save file via Dropbox or you may attach it to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily. Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.
  3. Hello Koaliboo, I'm sorry you are running into these issues. Would you be able to provide us with a couple of things? The first thing would be if you could reproduce the situation that returns you to the Start Menu and then send us the output_log.txt file afterwards. This is a file that starts to generate every time Deadfire starts up and shows everything that is happening. We would also appreciate if you could send us a copy of your save file where these issues are occurring so we can attempt to reproduce these issues in-house so Programming can have a better understanding of what is causing these issues. If needed, you can find instructions on where to obtain these files here. You can either provide a link to your files via Dropbox or you may attach them to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily. Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience these issues are causing.
  4. Hey everyone, I'm sure the bug report for this is somewhere in the database, but I created a new one as a way to ping the Narrative and Area Design teams so they are reminded of the issue and get a fix in for this. If you discover anything else about this, please feel free to continue posting that here as this has been linked to the bug report to be used as a reference. Thanks for the help and sorry for the inconvenience this bug has caused.
  5. Hello Corfixen, I'm sorry you have been having these crash issues trying to start Deadfire. Have you ever been able to start the game successfully or has it always done this to you? Some things to make sure before going into any heavy diagnostic work would be to make sure your graphics drivers and Windows 10 operating system are completely up to date with the latest updates. Another common fix is to uninstall and reinstall Deadfire to make sure it installs properly. If none of those fixes resolve the issue, then there has been another thing that has helped users and I will post that below. 1. Press the Windows button on your keyboard and type "run". 2. Click the Program to open the Run program. 3. Type "regedit" into the Run program and press OK. 4. Find the game folder location from the list of folders on the left.(Your location may be different from mine) 5. Delete the Pillars of Eternity II folder. After doing this, the game should default everything to basic settings. When Deadfire runs again, the folder will repopulate itself with the new default settings, so no need to worry about having deleted the folder. Please let me know if these work for you while the team investigates the issue to see what can be done to get you back into the Deadfire. Thank you and sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.
  6. Hey everyone, I'm sorry about this bug. A change was made to fix a bug and we are reverting that change to make things work properly again. Assuming nothing breaks before tomorrow, we should be releasing a hotfix patch with this reverted fix tomorrow at 10AM PST. The fix is already live on the Beta Patch server now if you would like to get back to your game immediately. Thank you for reporting this issue and I sincerely apologize for the troubles it has caused.
  7. Hey everyone! The main bug with the default layout is already fixed and is currently being verified by QA to make sure it is working and hasn't broken anything else. For the different layouts, there is already a bug report created for those and is already assigned to programming for a fix. Stay tuned to the patch updates to see when this fix is put live! Thanks again for reporting these issues!
  8. Hey everyone, Thank you for reporting this issue to us! Fortunately this issue has already been reported to us, and as such, is already being worked on. The fix has already been created and is currently in the testing phase to make sure it works and that it doesn't break anything else. Keep an eye on future patch notes to see when this fix is implemented! Thanks again, and sorry for the inconvenience this causes.
  9. Hello again everyone! I just got an update and thought I'd pass it along. Cloud is 100% correct in that the enemies in the immediate area would need to also be defeated for combat to end. Essentially in Berath's Challenge, creatures are put into combat groups and all creatures in those combat groups need to be taken care of before combat will end. I hope this helps clear things up!
  10. Hey Agarwaen, I'm sorry you're getting all these crashes when all the VFX are firing. I've put in a bug report for this and attached all the files you provided. A question I just wanted to check on was if this is just as bad in the Base Game scenes or only in the Beast of Winter DLC scenes. I presume it is happening all over, but just wanted to be sure. While the team investigates the issue, it may be a good idea to completely uninstall Deadfire and reinstall the entire game including the DLCs. This seems to have worked for some people, presumably as the game is putting everything together at once instead of doing it piecemeal when the DLCs release. Please let me know how things turn out! Thank you, and sorry again for the inconvenience these crashes are causing you.
  11. Hey everyone, We are super curious about this bug and were hoping you might be able to send us a save or two where this is occurring for you. You can either provide a link to your files via Dropbox or you may attach them to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily. The team is already looking into this with their own games, but it's always more useful having save files from folks outside the studio. Thank you for the help everyone!
  12. Hey everyone, It is strange that you are getting stuck in combat like this. I hope it is something as simple as Cloud describes, but in either case, I have created a bug report to have the QA and Programming teams investigate. If you discover anything else about this, please let us know as I will be linking this thread to the report as a reference. Thank you and sorry for the inconveniences this can cause.
  13. Hello Thomas, Thank you for reporting the issue for the conversation with Izzia! Fortunately we already had this bugged in our system so the fix has already been made and verified. Stay tuned for the upcoming patches for when this fix is put live! Thanks again and sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
  14. Hello Grunker, If i recall correctly, that fix only worked for new characters, but as you are only level 2, I'm assuming it's a character that was made after the fix released. Would you be able to send us a copy of your save file where this is occurring so we can take a look into this for you? You can either provide a link to your save file via Dropbox or you may attach it to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily. Thank you, and sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.
  15. Hello Talin, I'm sorry your computer keeps locking up during your playthrough. Would you be able to provide us with the output_log.txt file that is generated while you are playing the game after the situation occurs again? It basically records everything that is happening for the current play session until the game is launched again, at which point it clears and starts over. If needed, you can find instructions on where to find the output_log.txt file here. If the file is too large, you can email it to me at support@obsidian.net along with your forum user name and a link to this post as a reference. Once I have that, the Programming team can take a look to see if there is any useful information of what might be causing your computer to lock up like this. Thanks and sorry for the inconvenience this is causing.
  16. Hello again Skie This feature was removed as it was not originally intended for release as it was causing too many issues with performance, graphical issues, and problems getting the different forms to work with different equipped items. Sorry if you really liked the feature, but it was causing too much trouble. Thanks again for reporting the issues!
  17. Hey everyone, Thank you for reporting these issue with Xoti's dialogue and options. I put in a bug report and sent it to the Narrative team to investigate and get a fix or two in. If you continue to discover more about this, please continue to post them as I have linked this thread as a reference for the Narrative team. Thanks again for the help and sorry for the frustration this has caused.
  18. Hello Kurogami, Thank you for reporting this issue and for providing a save file for the team to work with! I have created a bug report and attached the file so that the QA and Programming teams can investigate this issue and get a fix in as soon as possible. If you happen to discover anything else about this, please let us know! Thanks again for the help and sorry for the inconvenience this is causing your party.
  19. Hello Miezulcarpatin, I have created a bug report for this issue so that the QA and Area Design teams can investigate the issue. Would you happen to have a save file from before and a file after this has occurred? This could help the team reproduce the issue for a fix if they are unable to reproduce this on their saves in house. You can either provide a link to your files via Dropbox or you may attach them to an email for us at support@obsidian.net. If you do email us, please link this post and mention your forum username so that we may identify you easily. Thank you and sorry for any inconvenience this may have caused.
  20. Hey everyone, Sorry about the annoying bar that is left on the screen. We fortunately already have a bug in for this reported by one of our external testers and a fix is already under way. Keep an eye on the patch notes to see when this fix is implemented! Thanks for reporting this and sorry for the inconvenience it is causing.
  21. Hello Solemn, I'm sorry to hear you are getting a black screen issue on higher resolutions. I'll add your information to a bug report that was made for a couple of other users who have had this issue. I did have one other user yesterday who had a radical fix that worked for him. He said he did a full clean install of his Windows 10 operating system and that it fixed his black screen problems. There is potential that the update didn't set up properly and that a clean install may work for you as well. Regardless, the team is looking into the issue for folks where these solutions are not working. Thank you for the added data and sorry for the inconvenience this is causing you.
  22. Hey Sauras! Thank you for reporting these! I sent you a response to the email you sent us about how I reported the first two with the images you provided and that the third one is very likely to not be an issue as the Ukaizo Guardian does not always appear depending on choices that were made during the playthrough. Thanks again!
  23. Hello Auric, That is a strange circumstance you've found. Would you be able to send us a list of your system specifications and in-game video settings so that we can see if we can't reproduce the issue in house? Thanks!
  24. Hey Baldurs_Gate_2, Would you be able to do us a favor and provide us with a save file where this is occurring. We have been unable to reproduce this in house and are hoping your save file will help us identify the cause of the problem so we can fix it. Thanks for the help!
  25. Hey Bart! Thanks so much for the save and the extra info about the dragon! I'll send this to the team right away! Thanks again for helping us out Bart!
