  1. Do they still suck as much as they did in Borderlands 1? Good to hear I'm not the only one. Bloody darn Banshee's. Worst enemy. When I replay ME3's ending (not yet having done the extended cut) I probably go to easy instead of insanity to save myself having to do that over again...
  2. Of course we care about graphics. How can you miss the obvious signs? For your convenience, here's a list; * Wanting beautiful crafted 2D environments rather than ugly 3D maps. * Wanting beautiful portraits for our characters rather than a 3D ugly representation of their head. * Wanting nicely created icons for items rather than a bland shopping list Etc.
  3. If combat allows it... ... ... Best. Post. Of. The. Thread. xD
  4. AP is great. I didn't mind spending my 50 euro's on it at release. That said, don't see a point re-buying it on Steam, so didn't...
  5. Well, despite however good one is or isn't... I have a doubt anyone will ever topple Scorchy for KOTOR2 LP's... *added Escapist thread to favorites to read later...* "So much activity in PE's section... :/
  6. I don't think PE is the game for you... Anyway, timed convo fitted in REALLY well with AP, so obviously they needed to do it there. Here however it has no place, so you can fully take your time with your response. Every game needs their own system suited to it. That pretty much every game these days has a "Mass Effect" dialogue wheel is a bad thing thus...
  7. Well, I suppose they save most for the developer documentary that will be released with the game. However that doesn't exclude the snippet here and there for PR-purposes. So I wouldn't worry too much about it
  8. We paid for them to fund a publisher-free game. I would feel VERY betrayed. And I am sure many with me. I suppose if you're fine with that though you have a different understanding of Kickstarters function than the rest of us. It does if that means they get their money with a noose and a set of set objectives/restrictions and demands. Say, for example, OE sells out to EA. They demand multiplayer. It has to be required to get the most out of your SP-experience (otherwise less MP-pass sales of second hand sales). They also have a few objections to the mature story which then has to be trimmed. Last they want the IP so if OE wants to make sequels they need EA's permission. Anyone who thinks that's great, raise their hand now. We paid for them to develop the game publisher-free. If they wanted a publisher, they should have asked them instead. It lead to debacles like KOTOR2's rush, AP being stored for half-a-year without work being done, scrapping of the Alien RPG. You want (need?) more examples? This is the first time OE can really show what they can do, without shackles, without publisher breathing in their neck. If they sign up to a publisher, even if just for the money, there will be hell in the forums. Seriously... I don't think OE can do anything that will damage their rep and loose their fanbase more. It will most probably end Obsidian Entertainment. Fortunately they realise that.
  9. For starters they signed up to "kicking it forward", so... well... they HAVE to. Which has nothing to do with success or failure. Also a publisher getting involved would be a clear sign of FAILURE. As this project was definitely intended to be made without a publisher haunting them and shipping unfinished products for a change. Dare I remind you of KOTOR2? Hmmmm, well they got the money for their self-publishing. Also with Steam, GOG and similar digital stores one no longer needs physical copies (as much as I like physical), which cuts out a large part of the publishers workload). And those who do with a physical can order per Kickstarter (or probably later store) still not finding them in actual stores around the world. I don't quite see what's so time-consuming or expansive about that. Steam/GOG take a far less smaller cut than retailers and publishers.
  10. I like plenty of monster (variety). Nothing stupider than being a monster-hunting called "witcher" and pretty much only humans need killing (Witcher II, I look at you). W2's line-up was pathetic compared to W1, which did a lot better. So the more scary beasties the better... leaving only the really rare and strong, well, "rare"... And not all of them bosses in highly likely places to be found. What says more 'Oh crap' than finding a rare legendary potent beast just while exploring about...
  11. Ring of Kangaxx? That golemcasting spellbook? I think there were plenty of non-weapon artifacts. Also while everyone could use the same hat (besides mages), weapons needed like 12 subcategories being there were 12 subcategories, and all would need artifacts or be potentially the bad choice (and many still were). I suppose if we just have less weapon-classes (sometimes less options IS better) there could easily be a better weapon/equipment ratio...
  12. What was wrong with the Irenicus-cutscenes in BG2? I liked them... and see no issues with how they can just implement them here...
  13. While it works in, say, Freelancer exceptionally, for PE it's a big no-no. I rather have they cut 500 quests then, instead of making 500 MMO-quests instead. *cough* No monster-XP *cough* (which only makes you an idiot if you try to farm them. Well I guess you can for gold and potential items though)
  14. You stole my idea! So (combing some great suggestions here with what I think is best) my interpretation would be. * There is a loot button on the HUD. Pressing it will give a popup with every item ON THE GROUND! (so not boxes or chests and such). Members will have their encumbrance (and free slots?) listed on their portrait now too. You will simply click what to take, or drag to another party member if (s)he should pick it up instead (and allow right-click with dropdown box with names for those who dislike dragging for some reason). Once done, everything picks up whatever was selected. Nice, quick and easy. * Chests would just display their content on interaction. Same should apply as above user said that you can immediately hand over items to another member without first going into the inventory. Also same encumbrance/item stats as above on portraits while the container is still open. Some pretty good ideas here folks! Nice!
  15. Except for that it's a pretty small list among Steam-games. And asking it to be the case for PE makes using Steam rather pointless. And lose sales on the odd people that buy game for achievements and such...
  16. Ehm, IE games (or atleast Baldur's Gate 1 and 2) had day/night settings for the characters. Unless I get you wrong and Ultima 7 had more than that. Pretty sure everyone in Morrowind always stayed at the same place, it was from Oblivion onwards that they moved. Like, naked in the night. Down a bridge and dying. Being impossible to find sometimes. I think a a little immersion is a bad trade for all the issues it could create when night/day states are enough. You haven't played Baldur's Gate, have you? Sleeping takes about 8 hours. Travelling time depends on distance. And no, having an always day city isn't good even for a "closed world" as you would lose the many different things night can offer you, such as rogue quests, questionable merchants and so much more...
  17. Not using an 12 year old engine, not suited for windows 7 by default, for lower resolutions and many other quirks... and that's a bad thing? Really? Sure I love Deus Ex, but I wouldn't suggest using Unreal 1.5 to make it this day. And not just because modern UE's look prettier either. I am sure many of the The Nameless Mod modders can tell you what awesome functions of modern engines are missing, making it a lot harder to work with... same here.
  18. Console can't handle isometric 2D RTS/RPG. So, don't count on it.
  19. Finally breaking free of publishers only to immediately sign with the devil afterwards? Sounds like a worst-case-scenario to me...
  20. Also, it would kinda betray all of us if we gave money and they still gave their sould away to a publisher. So, I don't expect that to happen...
  21. Sorry, OE doesn't do romances... so while one can (and imo should ) the others just impossible
  22. Exploration is good. Finding stuff you didn't expect, and sudden sidequest is good. So, I agree!
  23. Well, I would have agreed that the plot ended, but some people suggested only being able to enter the final few levels of the dungeon after the main plot... and I don't mind that. Could also add a bridge between original game and expansion... ("In the final level something happened, your party trapped, and unable to flee. See what's going on in the official expansion")
  24. BG2 had Irenicus cutscenes. PS:T had that scene where the guy with the orb got killed. So, could be a good way to tell story or move plot forwards and tell something...
  25. I should definitely replay PS:T, yes. Fortunately, 2014 takes a whole. Or unfortunately, depending how you look at it. And for those new, yeah, this is obviously a stab at the people claiming that combat is boring, but worthwhile due to XP. So suggesting the current conversation becomes better with XP, since obviously XP makes everything better. I don't agree of course .
