Pathfinder Kingmaker is bigger then Deadfire
Manveru123 replied to no1fanboy's topic in Computer and Console
I don't know how it looks like in PnP and I don't really care. We're talking about a computer game here, so let's stick to that. And the fact is, the biggest difference between multiple single class fighters is that they can use a different weapon. Just because they take different feats, doesn't mean the gameplay is engaging, because all of those feats are either passives or toggles. A Fighter simply does not have any buttons to press, which is exactly how it was in earlier DnD. The multiclassing options are now much much better than they used to be, so if you start doing that, all of that bland feeling goes away, which is exactly what I stated in my previous post. -

Except a Fighter is - by himself - just as bland as it always was. If you don't multiclass him, the gameplay is identical to old D&D. -

The problem with casters is that their damage is very sub-par for the whole game. It's good to keep one or two for buffs and crowd control, but when it comes to damage, a fully buffed physical group with a Bard song does the most DPS by far. -

Remember don't fail quests for companions that you're planning to use. -

I am hoping that this is a joke and the DLC actually adds something relevant to the game. Then again, I've restarted like 12 times already. Don't give me a reason to do it again T_T -
Do you consider Deadfire to be balanced around respec feature? It's not. Respec is just an addition. Where do people get the idea that the game will be balanced with respec in mind if it's available? That never happened. Why invent problems where there are none.

I know you're a powerful Wizard, and there are teleportation spells in Pathfinder, but we prefer you walk around like a pleb. Mr Baron sir. -
Very RP approach, but this is a single player game and someone else's experience does not affect your own. Do not force your views on someone just because you don't like a feature. Instead, don't use it. There's currently a mod for Kingmaker that can reset your character (or a companion if you want) for 1k gold. You can't use it to change gender or name, but everything else is fair game. Highly recommend.

All you need to do to unlock stuff and disarm traps is a character with high Trickery and Dex. It can be any character at all, no one is innately worse or better at it. You probably got the +5 Trickery gloves already too. -

Spells can sneak attack too. The reason she prefers the cantrip is that her go-to build is an Arcane Trickster. She does most of her damage with Ray spells. Her Acid Splash targets Touch AC which is generally easier to hit than normal AC. This is important because as a caster her BAB is low. Hmm, the real reason she's in the party is to be my rogue. So, even specializing in ranged touch attacks, it just seems weird that with one level of wizard and five levels of rogue with some truly brutal missile sneak attacks, her best & most damaging potential comes from a cantrip sneak attack? I'll go over the numbers and see how often she attacks and hits with acid splash and how much damage over a period of time and then do the same for her missile attacks. At any rate, I appreciate the heads up, Manveru. I have never tried building her as a Rogue, her stat spread just screams "arcane trickster". Especially since Rogues are not very good archers. -
Or Bethesda.

I just tested it against BG and NWN, both of which are games that I've played far more than Pillars. Kingmaker was noticeably slower, when viewed at similar scale. Obviously if you zoom way out on BGEE so that it's showing 4 times the amount of area that Kingmaker can show, then it'll seem like you're walking slower, but it's just because you're walking a farther distance. Part of the problem might be that Kingmaker makes your character slow way down whenever you start moving or change directions. Without that, it might be bearable. Strange, I did not get that impression. I do think it's kinda meh that I occasionally alt+tab while my characters are walking somewhere.. -

The walking speed is the same as in every classic game of this kind. There was no "fast mode" before Pillars. Don't be spoiled. Then again whose brilliant idea it was to make walk speed a crawl during the rain!? -
I'm extremely lazy. But you're kind of like L'oreal. Worth it. So here you go. Prepare: 1x egg white 4/5 glasses (160g) of powdered sugar 1/3 glass (30g) of natural cocoa 1/2 a spoon of unfettered coffee 1/2 glass (50g) of milk chocolate (in small pieces) a pinch of salt (optional) two drops of vanilla aroma 1 spoon of rapeseed oil (can I just say that whoever came up with "rapeseed" is my personal hero? Only because it passed, and its name in my language is so bland) Set oven to 180 degrees and let it warm up before you begin. Put cocoa, powdered sugar, unfettered coffee and salt in a bowl. Mix them. Add egg white and (optional) two drops of vanilla aroma, or real vanilla seeds. Mix until you get a thick, shiny, dark mass. Then add chocolate and mix again. Make sure to use rapeseed oil on the baking paper before you form the cookies as they are quite sticky. Form round shapes with the diameter of around 5-6 cm. Leave some space between them, because they will increase in size during baking. Put them into the hot oven. Make sure you do it as soon as you form them, because they can't be left in the room temperature for too long. Bake them for around 10 minutes, until their surface is cracked an shiny. After you take them out of the oven, wait until they cool off before you do anything to them.

"Realms Beyond: Ashes of the Fallen" Now on Kickstarter

The gameplay was ok but the story sucked because I was leading a team of random nobodies without personalities. Managed to somehow finish it once and then bye bye.- 172 replies

I very rarely finish TB games more than once. I feel like their replayability suffers due to the fact that TB combat often takes too long. It bores me, even if the game is good. This is why I did not touch DOS2 Definitive Edition. It's a great game. But ugh the combat zzzzzzzz.... EDIT: From what I've read it seems that the game won't have story companions. That's a dealbreaker for me in a game with a group, I do NOT want create a full party or recruit random sidekicks without dialogue or personalities. **** you Icewind Dale.- 172 replies
