  1. No, because his Druid subclass gives him foe-only component to many damage spells he gets (like Chill Fog and Ningauth's Pillar), so you don't need to micromanage him.
  2. No worries there's already a thread on Steam with a bunch of portraits. I agree that the current selection is ****e in both quality and quanity.
  3. After Deadfire loading times, every other game feels instant
  4. Early Game is stupidly hard if you use all difficulty sliders. Next to impossible, especially if you start out with a squishy caster. Enemies are not glued to a spot and seem to follow you forever so you can't split them. There is no "Fast Mode", walking speed is slow and clunky, but maybe Pillars spoiled me. It uses Vancian casting system, micromanagement is a must. Resting is limited, but resting on the world map is done very well (you get camping activities like Hunting). I personally feel like this system is very outdated and I much prefer per encounter abilities or cooldowns. Can't say much about story yet, but most of the characters I've met so far are interesting.
  5. You should be able to create a good character with some basic IWD2 knowledge, assuming you don't play any paper D&D (like me). Just read the descriptions of abilities :D
  6. I was originally worried about that too, but it's not an issue if you play regularly and clear the map by squares (e.g. I get out of Neketaka, clear the whole south-western part).
  7. I did something better. Created a Sorc, maxed Charisma (as you normally would on a Sorc), started the game. Got past the Trading Post, had a few rests along the way, but still 0/0 spell uses and had to use Cantrips all the time. Was very confused. Turned out I picked a Bloodline that changed my main stat to INT... had to restart :D
  8. Wizards will always be one of the most powerful classes in RPGs. But they are so squishy and wimpy Are you guys using implements or using spells? Wizards have had the lowest DPS after the Priest in both for PoE 1 and PoE 2 in my games - though it may be because I don't micro much and rely on scripts and auto-attacks. Priest was a monster DPS in Pillars 1. Anything that wasn't immune to Burn damage would get obliterated in seconds. But you have to play them manually to be effective. This is the same with Wizards (and all offensive casters except maybe Tekehu) in Deadfire.
  9. Yeah, I am never Bloodied, as I panic heal instantly at 75 percent (or has the scripts heal). So I guess for my safe style it's not for me. I can understand that. Just gotta get used to it. For more survivability use Bloody Links armor (it's tough call between it and devil of caroc armor tho), and later Unbending Shield ability (which does not overheal but keeps you alive). With high Resolve and Refreshing Defense you can fight bloodied no problem. I never used a shield.
  10. The only way a Streetfighter would be doing less dps is if you are not both Flanked and Bloodied. This is easy to achieve on solo.
  11. Kotor 3 was already released, they called it The Old Republic and made it into an MMORPG :D Just play a Jedi Knight and you pretty much get KOTOR 3.
  12. Devoted/Monk multi used to be ridiculous before they nerfed Stunning Surge resource recovery. But it's still very strong. My favourite choice for fisting enthusiast.
  13. Yeah you're lazy It's always worth it to at least cast Shining Beacon. Also, for groups, Berath uses his PL8 spell instead.
  14. ^ the reason why level cap won't be raised. And you would have to add new abilities because more levels will unlock PL 8 abilities for multiclass characters, so there would be very little tradeoff for going multi.
  15. A huge MIG score is kinda wasted on a character who gets so many %dmg multipliers (Rogue). Also no offensive skills at all? Do you just auto attack everything?
  16. TBH for multi monks I prefer to use weapons anyway. Also I don't remember Bards in D&D being able to summon a Dragon
  17. For some people, feeling powerful is half the fun (or even all of it.) Well said. A game that doesn't give me that in the end game is a bad game in my book.
  18. It's no different for all other melee classes, Paladins aren't special.
  19. And yet, they can be. Druids too, but they need highest level spells. I don't see a problem with that. By the way, a Priest was the best nuker in POE1 as long as the enemies weren't immune to Burn, so this is nothing new.
  20. Because this was about melee and not ranged and you need 12 ar at least in melee. Maybe you do. I'd never use that for solo, but in a group? Always. Pale Elves with bare sleeves just look weird to me. Aesthetics is a big part of the decision. Fair enough.
