  1. Why not engage the enemies with your party, and approach their backline with an Assassin to start taking them out? My only gripe with this would be having enough Guile to consistently re-hide after a kill and still have some left for an offensive ability on another target.
  2. Are you running your builds together in a party? Because that sounds like it would be cool. Just missing Eder and Watcher now
  3. They have officially killed Baldur's Gate for me. This is just DOS3 that is trying to cash in on BG name. Absolutely disgusting. Fortunately I am not a slave to nostalgia so I'm glad to know in advance that I need to look elsewhere for my gaming needs
  4. They used to be extremely powerful with Set To Their Purpose giving Brilliant and I've been trying to replicate that somehow with Blood Magic, but I start thinking that it's simply not worth the effort. Thanks for the feedback though
  5. Would you say Troubadour/BM is a good multiclass combo? I've been struggling trying to build a powerful Loremaster recently.
  6. How far can you get with that, though? I mean at the start you have a poor ship with weak cannons, even sinking similarly weak ships is a bit of a struggle, and you can't really board at that level
  7. Whoops. Yeah. Eder DOES feel like the best written character in the game by far. Eric Fenstermaker did a great job with him. It is very unfortunate that Chris Avellone did not write anything for Deadfire companions, because his Durance was pretty neat too, but hey at least he wrote Jubilost in Kingmaker
  8. My Cipher was an Ancestral Memory bot as soon as he unlocked it. Impossible not to have? Eder. Carried this guy with me on every single playthrough. Would do so again.
  9. "When you finish the game but Megabosses still kick your arse, here's a solution." This is really nice, congratulations. Could you share your base stats at least?
  10. This build is so effective that I was considering building my whole team around it. 3 of these with immunity to flanked gear, Tactician/Wizard for unlimited nukes and maybe a support in the last slot. Ultimately, I've decided against it since I like variety, but I'm running Eder with this setup and he's a monster tank.
  11. I'm interested about getting into Atelier too. Can someone please tell me: How's the gameplay? Similar to old Final Fantasy titles, or is this another action RPG crap? Similar to any other game? How cheesy is the story and characters? Is this the standard where a female character spends the whole game abusing the male hero verbally and physically despite having hidden feelings for him, which of course she won't admit because baka? Or is it something worth checking out?
  12. The fact that I can skip ship "combat" and go straight to boarding without breaking my ship or spamming 11112 is the best upgrade this game got in a while.
  13. Nope, it's a War Bow. This was my go-to weapon for a single class Ydwin before the nerfs, but now I'm thinking Aamina's Legacy might be better. Also Essence Interrupter is worth considering, but knowing Obsidian they still haven't fixed the weapon yet and I wouldn't want to destroy unique loot ._.
  14. Too late, she's already dead. But like I said before, other characters never perma die, and they also have low level and 0 gear so each ship combat there's a trail of bodies on the deck. So it would seem that if character gets injured while in the party, these injuries remain and they can die during ship combat. But if the character was not injured in the party, then he can die as many times as he wants and will always get back up after combat. Well to me that is an inconsistency at the very least and it's worth fixing.
  15. Nah man this happened even after a rest. I don't think I need to add companions manually and rest with them to clear injuries because no one else ever died permanently and they're all just a bunch of low level scrubs.
  16. I have removed Xoti from my team as soon as I reached Neketaka. Completely ignored her afterwards.. until I started doing ship combat (boarding). For each combat, the game assigns you a few random party members to help out. They are controlled by the AI. Normally, when a character like this is defeated, he is simply knocked out and gets up after combat, which is how it works on my save. Not for Xoti, though. When Xoti is defeated, she perma-dies. Just like that. This is very annoying because I have to either hope that she doesn't appear during the ship combat at all, or that her AI doesn't let her kill herself. I'll probably just let her die to avoid the headache, but I'd recommend fixing this for the future.
